    Great advice guys. After doing investigations i just bought a similar TT set (the v1 outer belt and MCL pouches). With hi-capa mags, the MCL pouches are really tight and i needed to fasten the pouches with some extra velcro and a ty-rap to the belt. Seems to work great, now time for some action!

    I'm not sure of the original intention of drop leg holsters, but they're best suited for use in a vehicle. It makes it allot easier to draw from a seated position and is also allot more comfortable. I work with a Sheriff's office to train their explorers medical skills and I notice alot of beat cops wear a dropleg while swat guys tend to use a hip holster when they're doing swat stuff and use a drop leg when they're on regular patrol.

    Well I used to use two pistols as standard with an occasional third when pistol only games. One was an Arktis dropleg holster, fixed in place and no wobble. On the belt I had a UM84 USArmy issue bianchi fullflap holster, both served well for 17 years of airsoft. I tried shoulder holsters, but they wobble too much and pistols can drop out when moving. I've had pistols in chest web, which is nice for a backup, but was a Velcro flap so no quiet draw, but if you're onto your critical backup stealth has probably been blown anyway. My primary pistol had 5 mags, one in the gun and two twin mag pouches. During a days play of 8 or so games, at least two each Sunday would be pistol only games, it was a thing. No reloading you had what you had, so shots counted. No hicap mags either. My then MP5 had 9 magazines as standard.

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  6 років тому

      Thanks for sharing your experience with dropleg holsters and other kind of holster systems. 5 pistol mags might indeed be a necessity for pistol only games if you're playing like it is meant to. We're personally not a fan of those highcap magazines either. We like to keep things as realistic as possible. 😉 | Viper out

    One of the videos that fortified the idea to ditch my dump pouch :P. I’m running a tasmanian tiger battle belt with velcro patches on the inside. And TT has velcro inner belts for that, but I switched to a sturdier one for duty belts. And my belt has seen a ton of changes over the past 10/11 months as I keep modifying it. It is now set up for cqb running mostly mag pouches for my sidearm and primary. And a attachement for a dropleg platform. I use a cytak drop leg platform, indeed pulled up pretty high without removing straps. And those holsters keep it in quite secure. The setup is mostly meant to function ambidexterous as I’m a lefty and I have my side arm on the right to train myself in using it with both hands. Same for my primary. Another very interesting video to say the least as it definitely helps narrowing and looking into functionality.

    I prefer using a dump pouch towards my left gluteus, (if you know what I mean). On my belt obviously
    I don’t just put in all the used magazines, but in a firefight I’ll drop my current mag in there, and then use a fresh mag. Once I’m in a safe spot, I can put the contents from the dump pouch into mags’ respective pouches. To me it’s faster then dropping it onto the ground or in your pocket

  • @eddy_sone
    @eddy_sone 5 років тому +3

    Very very nice video, and pretty similar to my ideal setup.
    Here is my slightly different version.
    I use an Ares Gear Ranger Belt, which I think is count as a threaded belt but hard and thought enough to retain my gear. I personally ok with reattaching things cause I usually do it once for a day of games and some of my holsters and pouches feathering some kind of quick de-attach buckles like the BladeTech tek-lok, which really make things easier. Plus, I still think it is the most secure way to have all my stuff go through the belt loops of my pants.
    I do use some drop-leg holsters and some waist mounted holsters , just try to get them as high as they can and they won't affect too much. I do agree the best way is mounted it on your waist. It is easier to draw your sidearm while running cause your waist won't move as much as your leg so you can easily grab your handgun. However, leg holsters still have their advantages in some situation. First of all, it looks really cool, especially when you are having a heavy loadout style. Besides, it is actually a little bit easier to draw your gun when you're not moving high speed cause you don't have to raise your arm too much. It's more matters when using a long or big handgun like Desert Eagle or MK23 etc.
    I also like to keep my handgun holster and handgun magazine pouches on my belt instead of my vest. The plate carrier can't stop me from getting hit like it did in real life. So when I want to do some handgun only style in some games of the day, I can just take off my vest and started to run really fast with my handgun only and I still got everything I need to fight with on my belt.
    So I would always keep them on my belt, and maybe some of these in the futures.
    1. a unity pouch which can keep all my personal belongings (Wallet, phone, keys etc.)
    2. a first-aid kit would be awesome when I sure I know how to use it
    3. a radio pouch if I get a radio in the futures
    4. maybe a flashlight pouch for a hand-held flashlight if it doesn't work well to just clip in my pants pocket.
    5. some cool looking little accessories which will not take too many spaces and won't weight too much.
    Thank you again for making this video. It is really enjoyable to watch even I already had a similar thought before watching. And also thanks for making the subs for it. It helps to understand the content for non-English speakers like me, even though they're still English but I don't have to deal with the listening problems.
    I just hit the subscribe button, keep it up, guys.

      First of all thanks for watching and writing such an extensive comment. It's always nice to read that people are using a similar setup, because this also confirms that our thought process is somewhat similar and that others may want to try it out as well. I also like that you explain the differences between our setups. Since this provides additional information for our viewers. And after all that's why people visit us, so thanks for that!
      Furthermore, thanks for sharing your experience with the drop-leg holsters since we lack some experience with them (though we will cover this later when we've gathered the experience).
      And of course we are glad that you enjoy watching our video and actually use the subtitles since it requires quite some additional time to create them. | Instinct out

    I use 2 hsgi taco kangaroo pouches to hold my rifle mags and my pistol mags, and i definatly think you can store more on a leg rig, the only down side of having heaps on your leg is the wieght, but if you keep it to a minimum you shouldnt expeirience any hindering of preformance, but once again like you said, it co.es down to personal preferance

    First aid kits in airsoft for personal use would only need to be very basic, as your marshall team would be expected to address any broken bone injuries or worse. Unless of course you wanted to be fully equipped to be an on-call medic and first responder until emergency services reached your game site. My field kit for when in charge of groups (walks, trips, hill ventures) is a large pouch, 30cm x 20cm x 15cm pretty heavy and not suitable for airsoft. As a player I would advise a small kit with strip plaster to cut off slices, scissors, tweezers for thorns, a needle also, steriwipes, alcohol gel, a few plasters of larger sizes, maybe a bandage or two. Get a pouch that opens out totally and unzips on 3 sides, otherwise access to your stuff inside will be limited. Consider adding pain killers, anti-allergy tablets, insect repellent, insect bite cream, sun cream, waterproof clear plasters (sweat proof), and tissues. If intending to use on others surgical gloves, and they will need to ask for painkillers and take them, you're not allowed to give. Rules depending on country. Ideally pouch would be waterproof. Ebay has lots of ready made pouches which can be good starting points, be cautious though and expect to add to them. Cheap plasters don't stick well etc. 99% of airsoft wounds will be cuts and lacerations from shambles and bushes, and splinters. Steriwipes, plasters, tweezers absolute essentials.

    Do you know of any CQC holster for the FN5-7? Can't seem to find any. Had one for my G17 and loved to way I could quick draw with the finger retention.
    I have a Safariland tan dropleg to get close to the ABL default load out, and works fine for lower paced outdoor skirms; but for faster paced CQB skirms I would like to get a CQC holster on my belt again.
    As for the IFAK. Join a free Red Cross basic training course. I did a while back and you learn a lot that might come in handy for airsoft games (and other scenario's of course).
    My IFAK consists of 2 parts. One mini IFAK for my belt and one IFAK pouch on my plate carrier.
    Mini ifak has one pair of disposable gloves, small tweezes, mini scissors, small plasters, small bandage and some sterile and non sterile compress gauges.
    The larger ifak consists of the same is the mini with additional larger bandages, more sizes of plasters, large medical shear , pressure bandage, triangle bandage, alcohol swaps and a tourniquet in case of larger injuries.
