Go for it on the leeks! Mine were smaller than yours last year and they ended up being amazing!!
We all get tempted at this time of year!
I planted my leeks out, same size (or smaller even) than yours, they look like spring onions! Didn’t think they’d survive, but so far they have! I put them between squash/ pumpkin, so we’ll see
I'm the same at garden centres Emma like a kid in a sweet shop❤
The variegated plant in your planter looks like polemonium (Jacob's ladder). Love the flowers you purchased. They're so hard to resist! That was quite a strawberry harvest! They are heavy feeders. I have a june bearing variety called Flavorfest. The berries are very large and sweet even when planted in pots.
Hi Emma your garden is looking fantastic have you not got a home bargains down there they sell lovely plants and they are so good value my allotment is looking so good now got two polytunnel now had it for weeks now got all sorts in me and the better half watching your video other night could not stop laughing 😊off to the allotment soon been hot here to bye for now green fingers say safe
I’ve put my leeks in at the allotment that look like yours. I’ve also got broad beans growing well in a pot in the garden too and picked loads already. Hoping that our cucumbers and courgettes are doing well, as not been to see them for a couple of days.
Thank you for always making me smile 🫶
At end of summer last year I got some geranium cheap being sold off, I overwintered them and replanted them out in the spring and have rejuvenated really well, definitely worth giving it a go to overwinter them
Thanks for sharing your experience!
My leeks are about the same size as yours and I've been debating whether to just put them put now. Love your new plants, very pretty 😍
I Suggest poundland to get roses, spring 2022 I got many and They flowering Beautifully this year
Good to take those lower bits off the tree, they’re like suckers. I call the big daisies crazy daisies. I have 2 hydrangeas I got really cheap from B&Q they were nearly dying but are amazing now. What size pencil 😂. I’m really learning from you, I don’t label my plants either. I gave a friend a sun flower and said if it grows other flowers I’ll swap it because it might be a runner bean! Xx
😂😂 so funny! Glad I’m not the only one!
What a great video Emma loved it xx
Those daisy like plants grow huge but are really pretty
Hi Emma, I'm a plantaholic too. The garden centre is a dangerous place 🤣. I put my leeks out at that size and they are so big now, I think all the sunshine helped too. I'm growing summer and winter leeks. Trying to get organised for winter crops now as you said, you have to think ahead to keep cropping! Loved the video, your garden looks beautiful! x
There will be no sizeable tubers until the plants have finished flowering and die back. Harvest too early and you will finish up with small potatoes. Flowers indicate the plants are doing their job, but will not be fully ready until the plants die back. I know it’s tempting to want to harvest early.
Jasmine Trachelospermum smells wonderful and is a beautiful plant, but when established can become a bit of a thug, keep well trimmed and try not to let it grow through your fence panels, I speak from experience. Still glad I got it and my neighbour loves it. Pick the flowers off the potato you want the energy to go into the tubers not into flower production, when the leaves start going yellow time to harvest.
That looks great! Adds much needed color to the garden. Well done!
Thanks! X
gotta like this time of year shopping for more colour some really nice choices there, I don't understand the cost of rambling roses they're the easiest to grow from cuttings, I did buy 'Albertine' but all the others are from bits of stem I nabbed and rooted lol identity crisis strawberry thinks it's an alpine variety flavour's the main thing
Hiya Emma Thankyou for sharing some lovely colour. Blessings luv Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
It gives me a giggle 🙊 that all your plants are boys 🥰
I've also got a tray of seeds of half of something and half of something else 😮😊😆 we'll see what they are if they survive 🤷
Remember to take that geranium/pelargonium indoors before cold weather hits. Its a tender perennial!!
Haha. I used to be like a kid in a sweetshop when in garden centres. Easy to get carried away. These days im much stricter but still get tempted by a few new plants every year. Great VLOG Emma 😊
I thought 💭 that’s clever Emma’s growing nerf bullets 🤭
Hi I've taken the rest of the flowers off the potatoes today and tie up because we're going to get some bad weather soon with a lot of wind so good luck with all your stuff
Argh! I hope mine survive! 🤞
Love your gardens. ❤
It’s been boiling hot here in Wales 🏴 26°C most days and not had a drop of rain wither 😢
Love the garden centre money money !!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
😂 they have taken all of mine that’s for sure!
@@emmasallotmentdiaries you to :]
Roses really need at least six hours of sunlight to do their best.
Emma of you have a wicks near you i saw a huge display of summer llants on sale there and was shocked at how reasonable the prices were
Noticed you've got one of the expandable hoses in the background, found these are ok but crap if you put the sprayer on the end.
I bought it for my allotment plot but haven’t bothered to use it yet! 😂😂
Very posh!😁
You really should wait until the tops die back before you harvest potatoes
I've got the same Jasmine it smells lovely, I bought mine from our local Morrisons garden center for less tha a fiver. Do you have them down South?
Good afternoon miss Emma.?...it is being Summer in your country?
My strawberries are even smaller than that!
Hello Emma, I have the same watering can as you but find the head comes off sometimes when I’m watering. I’m just wondering if you have the same problem? Thanks, Paul.
Oh my gosh Emma, please send me an address that I can send a pair of secateurs to 😂 I get the fear everytime I see you cutting plants/sticks/trees/plastic piping with saws and giant loppers.
Hi Emma,Can I know how long its takeing U get to Your allotment from home
Mr bee? 😂 😘
hey lovely , have you ever had a major problem with earwigs , ahh they are all over my garden easting everything , iv stopped watering at night , iv traps out and spray them at night but god dammit they are worse then when i had slugs in march , its a warzon e out there ! lol help i dont want to use damascas earth , as i have a pet and grow things i eat
Diatomaceous earth is safe for pets, in fact you can use it to kill fleas on dogs and cats, I used to use it on my cats 2 or 3 times a year, it's fine on food, just wash before you eat, great stuff 😊
Love the flowers, including the potatoes flower buds, personally I would not harvest the potatoes too soon, There will be no sizeable tubers until the plants have finished flowering and the stems start to die back and turn yellow. Harvesting too soon you finish up with very small potatoes. I know that it’s very tempting to want to harvest asap.
Love u Emma, but you didn’t look amazed at the taste of the meal you ate for hello fresh 😂 x
Alpine strawberries are ment to be small
👍👍👍🙏
