You can save on expenditure by purchasing small packs of seeds online from Bargain Seeds. Some varieties cost only 29p.

3000 seeds - in case 2999 seedlings are eaten by slugs.
Don't think of it as losing a large plant - think of it as gaining a lot of green for the compost pile.

Said goodbye to my purple sprouting broccoli at home, still producing in my lotty. Everythjng has been slow, but the last week have started to awaken. The yellow flowers are buttercups i think, they can multiply and take over, just be wary of them. Lovely to see the squirrel. Thanks for sharing Emma, slugs don't like onions too.

It's willow herb/weed around your pond. Pretty when in flower but like dandelions, they have fairy clocks that will blow everywhere. Also if you let them get established they will be a devil to dig out 👍😊

The mystery tall plants around your pond I think are willow herb. They should put out nice small pink flowers. Your plot looks great!

You should get some strulch, it didn't keep the slugs away completely but I hardly had any slug damage this year plus we haven't had to do much weeding. My marigolds however that were sowed in a poly got murdered by the slugs! Sometimes you just cannot win!

The allotment is coming along well Emma and I have sown courgettes in late May but no sign of germination yet. I am waiting until end of June and July to harvest garlic. Keep allotment gardening and keep safe. Love your video's.

Hi Emma I had a night mare with sweet corn lost my first batch. My allotment is looking good and yours is looking real good. Nothing wrong with wack it in. I have an issue getting it up if your garlic has started to flower/ go to seed it’s ready to pull up. Your will never know my nemesis is broccoli and cauliflower never seem to be able to grow it. Happy growing week.

My garden is covered this year in frogs and toads. Don’t know why…some years we have loads and other years I barely see any.
The plants coming up in your 3 sisters look like Alliums? I’ve just sowed my beans for the third time since something keeps munching them in my 3 sisters bed. Every year it’s something different that goes horribly wrong and always something that goes surprisingly well…it’s nature after all 😂
I love marigolds in the garden. Those will be such a bright spot of color in your plot!

Hey girl great vlog things are looking beautiful. I grew from seed for the first time ever marigold and they are super easy. My zinnias are getting eaten this year too. I think I’ll have better luck starting them inside and transplanting and we have a long growing season so I’m going to try that this week. But my marigolds have had no bug issues maybe it’s the smell the bugs don’t like but wanted to pass along in case you want to try next year from seed!

The "buttercups" by the pond look like the weed called buttercup and it's a terrible, invasive weed. I recommend you doublecheck that one and eradicate them if they are what I think they are.

I wonder if you just plant a garlic glove here and there just as a slug deterrent, would that work? Worth a try maybe

Hi Emma. You may have to be more brutal with your snails because " SNAILS have a homing instinct and will find their way back to their territory if moved
Researchers painted snails from around a garden, and placed them in the middle
Overnight, the snails all moved back to the area they had come from" !

Do you soak your sweetcorn seeds before planting? I do mine overnight and get great germination rate even planting straight into my soil.
