    The clip with Hacksaw wrestling and Tony and the Brain on the call. Brain laughed the whole match and lost it due to the thought of Duggan being a college graduate - GOLD.

    I bought a 2000 Ford F-150 from Hacksaw at Boyer Ford in 2008. Hacksaw was missing his 3 front teeth and was wearing a wig... or some type of fake hair. I got an autographed photo of Jim "Hacksaw" Duggan.... Ain't that right.. TOUGH GUY!!

    lol. In a way mid South destroyed Duggan for me. My dad used the WWF popularity to get me into the local guys. Duggan being described as "our Hogan". So nobody else ever treated Duggan as good as a lot of us thought he should have been. His feud with skandar's team of OMG and kamala. Was probably the first wrestling feud I remember. Tough guy.

    Mid-South was the King Of Territorial Wrestling! McMahon built the WWF product from 84 thru 87 by raiding Mid-South. Duggan, Reed, Dibiase, Nord, Roberts, JYD, Bundy, Nikolai, Iron Sheik, Hercules, Kamala and so on and so on. All appeared in Mid-South before going to WWF but couldn’t put Mid-South out of business until Bill sold it to Crockett

      He was properly rated. Hacksaw was a really big guy with a really big voice. He couldnt and wouldn't sell for anyone. As an upper mid card worker, he was given more chances then anyone else that didnt sell. He is a really nice guy. But cant sell.

      @@theamazing10yearold65if you are familiar with 80s and 90s wrestling. You obviously know hulk Hogans spot in the match where he's "hulking up" no persons punches or kicks had any effect on hulk. Now, take that same concept, people would hit duggan, with NO response and or "no selling". I don't think hacksaw had malicious intent. But he was very limited.

    I played football with John nord. Nord the barbarian and later called the bzerker. He had a wrestling friend in high school, who lived to fight. They would go around to football games and such, at the opposing high schools. And fight the toughest guys on the football and wrestling and hockey teams etc. Anyone who wanted to throw down, one on one, in a fight was welcome. I don’t think anyone beat them. And I don’t think they had many takers after a dozen incidents. Nord was not the instigator, but he couldn’t say no to his buddy. And got drug into fighting.
    Hacksaw Jim duggan was one of my favorite guys. I would have loved to see him be a tag team champion with John nord. As hacksaw will tell you, Nord was really a down to earth, decent guy. If he wasn’t drinking. They would have had to create a strong silent type character for nord , to compliment hacksaw!

    From what I've heard in interviews,if somebody was going to work for Watts very long,they learned how to work.Sometimes it seems as if we could use abit of Bill Watts today. If memory serves Nikita said when he went to Watts contesting fine Watts called in Grizzly Smith, and under question Grizzly said he didn't personalty see the match that Nikita got fined for supposedly being Lazy in. Watt's refunded the fine after that. Somebody also claimed that Watt's was a huge fan of Big Cat Ernie Ladd. While I don't think Watts was perfect or anything,sometimes I wonder if his bad qualities get exaggerated, embellished by people who didn't like his rules. Or were jealous of his success.

    Legend has it that Bill Watts and the Ultimate Warrior got in a fight backstage years ago and the Warrior got the best of Watts. Does anyone know if that's a true story?

      rbky04
      Ultimate Warrior used to work as a male escort, according to an old buddy of mine who worked in production. Watts didn't like that. He fired Warrior because of tgat, and because Warrior sucked in the ring.

    • @yehudafinkelstein7504
      @yehudafinkelstein7504 7 років тому +3

      Warrior sucked ass. He had LOOK and that was it. Old school promoters like Watts, Ole Anderson, and Verne Gagne demanded that star wrestlers could actually work in the ring to sell tickets. Warrior couldn't do that, he was a flash in the pan who didn't last.

      The story as Warrior told it was that Watts told him to get on all fours so Watts could teach him how to sell a move, i.e. a kick. but Warrior said they only way he'd go down is if Watts made him and Watts backed off. No fight but Warrior stood up to him.
