    I so love the endings and watching you eat it at the end. I know it's kinda weird but I see people making delicious food and I'm just thinking, "Do they eat it? Does it go to waste? What does it taste like?" I like how I know how its going to waste and I love how you tell us how it tastes. Whether it needs tweaking or not. Thank you for the excellent videos!!!

    Best Ice cream:
    1. Cookie Dough or Strawberry Cheesecake
    2. Pralines and Cream (with caramel swirls...sobbing)
    3. Mint Chocolate Chip
    I can't wait to try this recipe!

    I have the ice cream bowl attachment too and I love it. Just one suggestion. The instructions manual says you aren't supposed to freeze the ice cream in the bowl after it's churned. You have to transfer it to a different bowl.
    Some people also keep the bowl in the freezer all the time. This is also a big no no. Freeze it for 15 hours before you need it.
    It's not a cheap attachment so keep it safe. I've read about people having it break or pop in the freezer.

    My six year old asked for "chocolate mint cake" for his birthday. I decided to make my favourite brownie recipe, then make this ice cream, spread it over the top, and freeze, then cut into squares. Kind of like an ice cream cake. It's amazing, and I am in LOVE with this ice cream recipe, it's surprisingly minty, refreshing, and fantastic. I used 70% chocolate instead of 100% though - I love dark chocolate but that sounds like biting into frozen nuggets of cocoa powder, which doesn't seem like it would be very appealing haha.

    Great recipe! I don't even like mint ice cream, but this looks so fresh and yummy! You didn't include the chocolate chips/shaved chocolate in the ingredients in the description box. Didn't realize Kitchen Aid had an ice cream attachment. Might have to look into that! Have a great day!

    Kitchenaid advises that you don't scoop ice-cream straight out of the freeze bowl because it can damage the bowl and that you should always add the custard mixture while the mixer is churning.

    Hi Byron, thanks for yet another amazing recipe. I get so excited whenever I see your new video in my subscription feed.
    I had a question for someone who uses Vitamix on a regular basis. Have you done the black particles test on your Vitamix? I've seen a few videos where they do this test on brand new Vitamix machines but I've never seen someone doing it on an older (used) machine. I'm curious to see if the black particles still come out after several uses. I have been debating on getting the machine because of this issue and I would really appreciate it if you get back to me on this. Thanks, Byron!

    • @math8er1
      @math8er1 9 років тому

      I've had problems with various vitamix products over the years, I know people who have then, and don't like them. I've also had problems with the machine in the kitchen where I work. That's why I bought a Blendtec.

    • @jessnoack
      @jessnoack 9 років тому

      I have never had that problem with my vitamix- I love it. I think it's a very good blender, I've had it for a few years now and have had no issues with it. I have made whole fruit/veg juices, *instant* fruit ice creams, purees and smoothies in it and I get great results every time. No black particles, that's for sure. If you're concerned I came across this website which has a pretty good breakdown of the issue- joyofblending.com/vitamix-black-particles/ :)

    • @ByronTalbott
      @ByronTalbott  9 років тому +9

      Just make sure to keep your ice cream base as cold as possible before adding it to an ice cream machine. If you know that it's going to be a hot day, cool down the base in the fridge or freezer before adding it to the machine or mixer.

      you can do it the old fashioned way and put the mixture in a ziplog bag, then in another larger ziplock bag have a bunch of ice and a LOT of salt, (it will lower the temperature of the environment). Put the sealed bag with the mixture in the bag with the ice, and kind of manually "churn" it. Shake it alot, move it alot, and eventually it will get thick.
