What advice would you guys give to the Captain of the Midnight Express that made the U Turn?
Get sumone with plenty of experience to take u& ur boat out a couple of times until u get ur confidence to handle ur boat properly 👍

I'm thinking someone on board got scared and made him turn around. Only thing I can think of. Too slow to start so lets turn in a trough and take a wave broadside.. Either way not good.
Easiest way to capsize that boat is sitting in the trough like that and going that slow. Unreal.

Right now fuel is a steal.
@@rebellucy5610 Marinas charge way more, and even if it is a steal I cannot imagine what the fuel consumption is on that boat.
Might as well put a few diesel inboards on it at that point and still save money.
Prlly burn 1000 bucks in a day if you tried in fuel
@@Jake_Hynds Oh, easy I'm sure. 1000 bucks at a marina pump is between $3-$4 on average right now, so that's only 250-330 gallons. Those engines could drink that in a hurry.

I don’t know anything about boats, but to me the Mercury motors sound good. I also like the Everglades boats, very sleek and elegant looking.
The captain of the Midnight Express just needs training and experience. He’ll get it down with time. You really can’t tell how intimidating that is without being behind the wheel. Waves are way bigger when your in the boat, versus watching from the couch.
So, I was gonna' buy a Tirranna, but now I'm not sure.
Guess I'm still waiting for the lottery win - got time to decide........

Two things going on here 1st thing is boat plug on these are usually a brass bolt with a square head and has apparently backed out, these boat's will have multiple 1000+ gallon per hour pumps and with it doing work like that I'd say better get it on the trailer. 2nd thing is like everyone said rookie driver! These quad 400R'S would easily gap those waves and throttle is your friend, but even if the plug was in this boy wouldn't have the nerve to drive the boat like it's capable of.

I've been in and out of Government Cut a couple times on +40' sailboats, but I never have been in or out at Haulover Inlet. It would seem to me it shouldn't be that bad at slack or incoming tide, but I think if it could be avoided going in and out on an outgoing tide (especially in the afternoon with the sea-breeze blowing in) might not be a bad idea.

2:15 - the owners who just bought the boat or renters told the cap to slow down then to turn around.
Why do the boats have like 6 outboards instead of just having a pair of big diesels in the hull? What's the benefits of sticking with outboards?
I'm pretty sure the mystery boat is a Mid 90's Mako 284.

2:07 What went wrong: The boat didn't have enough speed. When waves are to rough, you have to have speed so your boat doesn't go down as much before going up a wave.
