Chinese Smart Trainer Failing After JUST 2 Years.... (Thinkrider X7 Pro)

So this is my Thinkrider x7 Pro, I got it about 2 years ago but now it's starting to fail. It seems to have a problem in ERG mode.

I had a somewhat similar issue with my X7. Turned out it was a simple fix. The black and white sticker on the flywheel had peeled over time and the sensor wasn't reading properly how fast it was spinning, so the felt resistance was way too high. I printed my own sticker, stuck it on and problem fixed. Requires a fair bit of disassembly but wasn't too hard... for an engineer. Nothing to do with the drive belt or bearings, etc.

My Kickr also died after 2,5 years, no guarantee the more expensive ones will last longer 🤷🏼‍♂️ Did got a new one from Wahoo though within a week. Guess that’s what you’re paying for also

Oh damn, sorry to hear that your smart trainer is malfunctioning. I got Thinkrider x5 myself :x. Perhaps try contact Thinkrider company and explain what issues you are having. Maybe they will be able to help. I know that on their official youtube channel they have various videos showing how to replace some parts on their trainers, like resistance belt, etc.

The problem is same as mine, the smart trainer read lower than my power meter on my bike, it makes the erg mode feel more difficult

isn't the power coming from the trainer LOWER than the one on your watch? You kept saying it was higher, did I miss something?

I don't think you'd have a warranty after 2 years with any other trainer. I'd probably contact the manufacturer to see if there is a fix. It could just need some belt adjusted. I got an elite direto and had some issue with it that tech support was able to provide a quick fix with just a simple adjustment screw.

My Kickr Core almost died after 3 years, making loud humming noises. Googled how to change the bearing of the flywheel, I replaced them myself with a total investment of 20€ and 90 minutes of work tho.
