  • Breathing in the right way is one of the most fundamental steps to improving your posture. People to try to force their muscles into a stretch and end up holding their breath not knowing that this is working against their goal of improving their Scoliosis.
If you hold your breath while stretching you are keeping your muscle tight because you go into a fight or flight response. The breathing technique I share in this video does the opposite because it activates the rest and relaxation part of your nervous system so your muscles begins to relax.
There’s nothing wrong with holding your breath to begin with because it’s a learning process, as long as you learn to relax your breathing. Overtime, the more you practice the easier it becomes, the more your muscles relax and easier your posture becomes to change.

Question as you were referring to concave side her left side… In the beginning of the video it was said left is more open bigger lung or unsquashed lung and the right side where it curves towards right with squashing the right lung… But towards the end of the video you were saying breathing into the left side which is the concave side and then you mention the left lung as being the more squashed lung and this breathing would open up that lung. It makes sense to me what you said at the beginning that the right lung in this diagram would be the more squashed one since the spine is pushing that direction… Am I right about this?

You're correct, the start of the video is correct. I'm saying right and left a lot and I get myself confused! Thanks for highlighting it!

    For clarification.
The female in the video has dextroscoliosis(curve to right side) so she should focus on breathing into her left side?
