This band has an integrity and ethical quality running through their music....all of it from Down with the Sickness to this. I'll be 80 in a few months and have loved and lost a number of people as well as facing my own mortality in 20 or so 25 years so I can relate
I was shooting photos of one of their shows and I ran into David Draiman in a back hallway with his son (who was about 2 years old at the time). David was dressed for the stage but was taking his son out to the bus where his wife was. It was so cute to hear him talking to his son in a cute & gentle way.
This song...... I am not ashamed to admit that it made me cry. I recently lost my mom on January 22, 2022 due to covid complications. She was only 46..... and this song, it brought to the forefront of my mind the memories we shared, and here it is my 25th birthday today and she's not here with me.......... I miss you mom...... Rest in Peace, Amy Shepard 1/1/1976 - 1/22/2022
Two of my siblings had children that died at an early age, 20 & 21 years old. It's been difficult for everyone in our family, as both had their whole lives ahead of them! This song brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it, but it reminds me to pray for my siblings.
My beloved grandmother got sick when I first time heard this song. I listened to this song for 30 sec and turned it off because of songs message. After some time granny passed away, this song helped and still helpes me to get over the great loss. R.I.P. granny, Love you
As someone who went to a Disturbed concert, this one hit especially hard cuz of the date I went. I went for my birthday which just happens to be around Chris Cornell's birthday and also Chester Bennington's death, and Robin Williams' birthday. They were honoring those 3 people at the concert and also played this song.
The context of how this song came to be makes it so much more powerful. He got the idea for it after taking his son to see the movie “CoCo” the whole premise is that souls live on as long as you keep their memories alive, but when they are forgotten their souls die. The movie is amazing and the fact he was inspired to write this song is so awesome
RIP Mama I love you and miss you even more than you even know. I'll never forget what I heard when you left this world "ALL OF OUR EFFORTS HAVE EXHAUSTED LETS CALL IT JANUARY 2nd 2015 8:31 PM" yeah Mama I heard that and it tore me in half.
For me the image of the child's outfit got me hard. Then David in the audience signing with a fan and hugging them. Then the very end, when he's overcome by emotion and hiding his face in his arms. God, I think I'm falling in love with this amazing group! Such powerful messages!
Took me about two weeks before I could listen to this without cracking but the two videos they did for it break me every time. A great song, a great message
no idea how I missed this one. but wow. weirdly enough the image that grabbed me the most was the clip of David with his dog. I miss my my dog so bad. She was my best friend for 16 years...
This song just hits hard, hits softly and gives a sense of melancholy that keeps ahold for a while are you remember the great people we've lost. Lost the one closest to me years ago and when i play this song i sit back in my chair with eyes closed remembering our moments, ending with a somber smile
First time I heard this was when they performed it live at the 2019 Sonic Temple festival. When coupled with the videos/photos they were showing on stage it just hit that much harder.
this song comes often in my spotify playlists...its always emotional every time but... but damn this video version i just cant hold it just hits one deep also thanks for the great reaction ... *finally grabs tissues* ...
This song was something I didn't know I needed. Last Saturday was the anniversary of my father's death, and Monday I lost a cousin. Life has been leaving me kinda numb for a while now, but this helps.
Beautiful, yet sad. The whole album is pretty amazingly meaningful. Not sure if you noticed at around 8:30, there's a guy holding a baby photo and Dave is over listening to his story. Big feels on that one. Wow!!! Some powerful shit here to ponder eh? Thanks OldSkule, I'm going to reacquaint myself with this album. I've missed it.
Please react to "A Reason to Fight, the official live video where they advocate the prevention of drug abuse, depression and suicide. They just keep giving to us that love them. BTW...I love the way you reacted to this and how you pointed out the names that I didn't recognize. One loss, was the drummer's brother who committed suicide.
Hey, disturbed are one of my favorites, yeah this isn't typical of them, but it's still awesome 👍👍 A reason to fight is one of my favorite songs ever.the music/message is so amazing, David can sing anything 🤘🎸🔥🎶 stunning/unique voice & one of my favorites. Been a solo mum (2 amazing kids) & has depression,a reason to fight is the best.lotsa 💖💖 from 🇳🇿🇳🇿
NEVER be sorry for feelin it and tearin up to me it makes ya more of a man and more human and l like that ya dun be all like toxic masculinity like bein a metalhead means ya dun be allowed to feel
That damn onesie, everytime
I can't imagine why you're not as rich and famous as David. You know so much!

I know it's a couple years on, but I hope that you've begun healing. ♥️
Beautiful, period

The video to this song is very touching

A reason to fight is another good one to react to from disturbed.
The live version is a must see
Of course I'm crying 😢
The best part of this video is David's interaction with the audience.
Another Way to Die is also a very excellent one it has a Great Meaningful Message.
The youngster of asian descent shown wiggling around on the bus seat is David's son Samuel.
This will definitely be played at my funeral
Man everytime I see this I cry!
Don't worry, if you don't cry, I will 😢
Beautiful reaction thank u so much
Another really powerful, tear-jerking song by Disturbed, is "Save the Last Goodbye".
Thank you, not many know of this song
Too late. I bawled the first time I heard this song. David Draiman has one hell of a vocal range. Scott Weiland was in that montage.
David Draiman....a voice to die for.....none better imho. Just love this song.....had to get out the Kleenex! Loved your reaction OldSkule!
When I first watched this video it was also my first time hearing the song and it had me crying.

Hold onto memories hits me everytime I listen to it. Lost my mom and my dad back in my late 20's. Now Im 40 and all I have is memories of them .
Didn’t plan on tearing up at work today. Now the truckers are looking at me weird XD

It reminds me of my mom's family including my mom that passed away from Alzheimer's

One you should check out is A Reason to Fight the official live video.

A minute or so earlier he and his wife were holding up a Metallica baby onesie. That's the image that tears my heart

Great song and reaction. That was Scott Weiland from STP / Velvet Revolver not David Bowie. Good video man!

I think at this point we can say there is no "typical" Disturbed, except for good music.
Man I think it's a good thing that the baby onesie seemed to go over his head. I think that one would have broke him.
If you really want a good cry listen to James Blunt "Monsters" just don't leave the tissues on the other side of the room.
Try James Blunt “Monsters” Beautiful song and story behind it.
My son Sean said that was Scott Weiland.
DAVID YOU ARE AWESOME AND A DEAR FRIEND AND MY BROTHERS LOVED YOU DEC 8 2004 JUNE 22 2018
i am. love you, bud.
