@Thrustin Von Helmut don't shame yourself with bad language , nobody has mentioned "wrist", only size. A big field watch is like a big flashlight on the heads of the special ops soldiers - pointless and really out of place.
@Thrustin Von Helmut you killed me with that. I hate all these guys getting on here crying and bitching about watch size. "Should be 38, should 36, too big, too expensive...blah blah blah". Not everyone has little dainty wrists. There is a market for people with bigger wrists. Either eat a cheeseburger or STFU and don't buy it. Not to mention this watch was made to the exact specs of the watch that was requested to be made in the movie.
While I'm a Hamilton fan. I find it extremely hard to justify twice the price for this vs a Khaki Field Automatic 42mm. Especially considering I lose the date function. Probably just my opinion
You can check the date on your phone, like the time on your phone or pc, so again mechanical watches IMO today are using by us (watch entusiast) for the look, durability and overall quallity so i prefer no date all day everyday of the week it looks 10000 times classier than watch with date.
LOVE this watch. And Cooper's watch as well. I need to get both. It is noteworthy that this watch is called "Murph" but it was Cooper's watch to begin with, so meant for a man. I think that's why its so large.
The 42 size is perfect for me. It's why I bought it. I really wanted to like the Khaki King, but it looks positively dinky on me (I have large hands and wrists). This watch is both elegant and rugged, and is my third Hamilton.
I've just ordered this. I'm like you in that I wanted to like the khaki king but it looked liked a kids sized watch on my wrist. Hopefully this will be better.
I love that they got rid of the date function. I have it on all my watches and absolutely hate it. My wrist is 7" like yours, I think this watch is a bit big for us ( or I just like smaller watches). Too bad because I really like it.
Wow, Congrats!! Now you have a watch that plays in several historical dimensions!!👏🏻👏🏻 Love the cathedral hands! For certain a big step up over my Hammy Aron!👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩
Hi, two very nice watches indeed! I've been looking for a American pilots watch, I can't make up my mind between the Cooper and a Stowa. I would like a follow up video of the Electric Hamilton too! Thanks!
Good video I really like that watch it’s very classic design. It’s on my list of watches to buy a Hamilton field watch perhaps maybe even a jazz master as well I think I’ve got enough divers for the moment.I have an over an 8 inch wrist so 42 mm is kind of my sweet spot 38 look a little silly 40s even look kind of small
Beautiful watch Aron. Very nice overview of the Hamilton “Murph” Field Khaki. You really lucked out in getting the Factory ‘signed’ warranty card. I like Jomashop, yet I’d much prefer to have Hamilton’s warranty than the Jomashop warranty. Again, very nice video!...Ed
Thanks Ed!! I'm really surprised to have it too. I think they are scrambling to get these watches, maybe the signed warranty card slipped through. Thanks for your kind comments and for tuning in to the channel!!😎👍🙏
Love this watch, and if it is too big for your wrist you know where to send it😎 as for getting the watch started a wise man told me he just knocks it against his palm😂
I think the technology was actually first used on the Swatch Sistem 51. They made enhanced versions of that movement (modified ETA) to develop these 80hr power reserve movements. Part of the long reserve is also from reducing the frequency of the movement to 21,600vph as opposed to the 28,800 of the older 2824 version. These movements have not earned the trust of the older 2824 and such, but i believe with time they will. Cheers 😎👍
Great review! Always heard hammy’s lume is not so great. But the murph looks like it can handle itself well in the dark. May i ask how much time does the lume last thru the night? Thanks!
Just a wonder piece! So clean and crisp with a vintage flare!! Every man needs a Hammy!😊 And the Quartz is Killer! Very nice haul brother. Thanks for sharing those two great pieces!! Thumbs up as always!!👍👍 Oh and great warr. deal!!
Thanks brother!! I really like this watch 👍😁 The hang tag was in Euros too which is interesting. Warranty card appears to be from a shop in Italy!🤔 Glad I've got both warranty cards!!
I haven't had much success with Hamilton. A 42 mm Khaki Automatic I had with what appears to be the same crystal as this Murph had so many reflections on the slightly domed crystal that it hard to read the time and the lume was terrible. An "Interstellar" Pilot Day Date I had did have AR coating, but the H-40 movement failed after three weeks of ownership and had to go back to Swatch for warranty repair. That said, I might be willing to give Hamilton one more try because I like this dial over that of the Khaki as it doesn't have the inner ring of 13 to 24 hour indices, making the watch cleaner overall. But that reflective crystal does give me pause. 52 mm lug-to-lug?! That's Sumo territory!
It's a reflection magnet totally!! It hasn't been difficult to read though. Almost impossible to film or photograph though!! Hopefully i have good luck with this one. I know the quartz is good!! Heck it's already keeping better time than the Murph and it's probably 40 years old!! Dang quartz watches 😁😉👍
Too big. Field watches should be from 34 to 36mm, 38mm max. They should be unobtrusive. And a field watch should have a solid back. Less gaskets and case parts=less chance of a leak.
I really like the "Murph", but I think it's overpriced for a basic 3 hand field watch. I understand they are capitalizing on it being featured in the movie, but that doesn't mean a lot to most watch enthusiasts. I guess the folks looking to get a watch featured in a movie might think it's okay, but otherwise to much for what you're getting. Not sure what you paid at Jomashop, but this isn't a $1,000.00 watch.
Gorgeous watch. Love it. Never heard of the movie, so don’t care about that. It reminds me of the military field watches. Very nice review. I would probably go for it if I didn’t already have a Rolex Explorer.
Great video Aron. I like the watch but is to big for me. I have the 38mm Khaki Mechanical with the manual wind and only 9.5mm in thickness. It is one of my favorite watches, just forget you are even wearing it. I know the name is a womans name but I am using my wives google account. Signing out. Thanks, Brian
Vintage look, vintage feel, but (as usual with watches today) decidedly NOT a vintage size. I'd almost forgive them for the 42mm case because that's just the way things are today, but a lug-to-lug of 52?! Sigh....that's silly. Oh well, that just means more of these watches for the rest, and my wallet will thank me. Too large for me.
Welcome to inflation bud! Goes with everything else you buy! That same Khaki watch you bought for $400 I seen it many times now for over $500 easy! So yeah let’s blame it on Trump! He was a watch salesman ! 😝😝😝😂😂👉🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@OFD yea I get that part. But an all dial watch of this style looks a hell of a lot better 40mm and under. Seems like a dumb move to me and many other enthusiasts.
@@delesdog Agreed.... Not only too large (Hamilton, are you not seeing and reading that we are no longer in the size wars of the early 2000's? 38 to 40 mm please.. And this is Murph demand price gouging. I'll look more at the Stowa Partito.
Beautiful watch. Pity about the Hollywood connection. That cheapens the watch to me, and it unnecessarily raises its price because of the movie fans. Oh, and make it in 38mm, fer crying out loud.
Hahaha what a load of bullshit! People are staying away from this watch in droves! It’s horribly over-priced, ridiculously oversized and it has the highly problematic 80 hour PR movement. Hamilton f***ed up big-time with this watch, it’s a real turkey. And no, it’s a long, long way from being Hamilton’s most popular watch, no it isn’t a field watch, no it isn’t the same size as the watch in the movie!
Beautiful movie and beautiful watch dial. Would be a no-brainer at 38-40 mm.
really wish they'd drop it down to 38 or maybe 40. at least get it small enough for a 20mm strap
@Thrustin Von Helmut drop your weapons there hefty boy, nobody's fat shaming you.
@Thrustin Von Helmut don't shame yourself with bad language , nobody has mentioned "wrist", only size. A big field watch is like a big flashlight on the heads of the special ops soldiers - pointless and really out of place.

It looks much cleaner without the date function. Too bad it is bigger and pricier than it should be.

it is so large, huge for this type of watch
So glad they released it in this size because now I have no desire to own one !!!
Smart design of a dial with eclectic vintage influences.
With expected HAMILTON quality as well, I hope.
You could look at those watch hands and feel spiritual in a second. Such a pretty watch
I love that they got rid of the date function. I have it on all my watches and absolutely hate it. My wrist is 7" like yours, I think this watch is a bit big for us ( or I just like smaller watches). Too bad because I really like it.

@Thrustin Von Helmut Bitch wrist Lol
Thrustin Von Helmut no need to be a wank
Do they make it in 32mm size? LMAO! GTFOH!!
Rhino Watches I’m not sure what your laughing at. In your own Vintage Watches video you’re showing off some watches that are 34 mm.
What a great review. My Murph arrived yesterday. I love it.
Stellar review!
Nice one!!👍😁👊
Think about that watch sitting on the shelf, running for years… automatic is nice, but thats a pretty good power reserve…
Wow, Congrats!! Now you have a watch that plays in several historical dimensions!!👏🏻👏🏻 Love the cathedral hands! For certain a big step up over my Hammy Aron!👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩
Sweet Hammy. Love the second hand with the Morse code. Nice score with the vintage piece too👍
Great watch and love to own it but that reflective crystal is disappointing.
36mm version would be awesome .. not a fan of hockey pucks .
I wish it would be available at 37 & 38mm case diameter.
Hi, two very nice watches indeed! I've been looking for a American pilots watch, I can't make up my mind between the Cooper and a Stowa. I would like a follow up video of the Electric Hamilton too! Thanks!
I will definitely be posting a short overview of my new (to me) Hamilton Quartz! Cheers Steven 👍👍👊
It’s not laser-regulated. It’s a free-sprung balance with adjustable weights on the balance wheel.
Hi, I have a Hamilton Harrison Ford Team Earth limited addition. Have you seen it? I wonder if it uses the same engine as Hamilton Murph, Eureka.
This watch moves me. Simple easy read. Beautiful watch. Need one but it’s really not due to the movie. Just hike up that cost Hammy.
I would almost consider a Longines heritage classic. A 3 handler
Coming back to this one, Aron. 25% off retail here in the UK just now! Tell me to pull the trigger!?
It's a cool watch, big, but very cool. 25% off sounds like it would be hard to pass up!! 😁👍👊 Boom!!
@@OFD You're the boss... BOOM! 👍🏻
Did you buy it ?
@@SteelmoonWatches Yup. Done a video too 😉
Very nice. I have the Standard Khaki Field in 42mm.
The Murph is really nice but I prefer the standard dial with the 12/24 markings
Thank you 😎👍

hey, Im wondering the discount on the amazon link, can I count on them? thanks
If it was 38mm like khaki field i would purchase it right now! By the way this 42mm one looks like giant even on 7inch wrist.
I can get one new for about £600 but still hard to justify when I can get a white dial khaki for 320 !!

Aron If I save my Hamilton’s some day I to may have one on the wrist, just moved to the number four on my grail list.
A mechanical watch that is regulated by a laser system! Fascinating,...I wonder how that works? Thank you Aron.

Amazing watch!
Man can't find a single person with a 7.5" wrist. I'll just have to go try these on
Stunning watch. For me the 38mm is far too small PLUS no morse code 🤦🏻♂️
It’s the seconds hand, not the second hand.
Nice Hamilton watch !:)
Too big. Field watches should be from 34 to 36mm, 38mm max. They should be unobtrusive. And a field watch should have a solid back. Less gaskets and case parts=less chance of a leak.
There seems to be a reflection issue with many Hamilton's, stopped me from pulling the trigger a number of times.

Too long of lug to lug. Nice watch but not so much on wrist unless you have 7.5"+ wrist.
42mm? What the hell? That should be 38mm. At least I won't buy one at that side. I don't need anymore watches.
