I think it's fine on 2nd gen Fit at least. If you look at IIHS side crash test, you can see the side airbags deploy from the column in between the front and rear seats. The air bag does not deploy from the windshield column. I will try doing it this way too
Why dont you just pull the A panel? You dont have to remove it. Just pull a little till it pops. That will give you about a couple inches of space to work on. That way you can run the cable under the airbag which is safer.
Also, the clips are designed to break when the trim is removed. It’s an airbag deployment design feature. You must have new clips ready if you remove the A Pillar trim.
Really helped me. Was trying to use those 3M double sided wire routing things from Amazon which never lasted for long. Now my dashcam and GPS charging cable both are routed without any mess. A big thumbs up 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
You placed the dash cam in the wrong place. The black dots in this area of the windshield will block the view from the lens. I guess you know it by now.

Your power cable will interfere with airbag deployment with how it's run. You need to route around it as "Mr P. Practical Info" showed in his video

I would recommend at least 2k. 1080p is fine but if you need to zoom in on a license plate you'll want that higher resolution.

I'm assuming people are little to intimidated to do so. Either they don't want to break off any plastic tabs or accidentally set off the airbag.

Just pull a bit not totally removed it...and open the door seal and tuck the wire in the car frame...much easier to do then using that prying tool 😁
@@afitothezan Yes, the door seal is super easy to remove and put back into place. I'd still leave the A pillar alone 😂 but that's just me.
