Das war wirklich das absolut geilste Auto, das ich je hören und sehen durfte. Danke Georg. Hab es in Eichenbühl und in der Rhön am Hauenstein einige Male bewundern dürfen.
@@nismo3871 Actually the the white knob stick shift preceded the paddle shifters , and yes , you have heard correctly it is a hard to break back up versus the paddles . Georg preferred to keep both for a variety of reasons besides the back up, the stick is better and safer to use in certain maneuvers .In some older videos you can see him use both alternately .
@@nismo3871 they‘re actually not connected, the paddles are most likely air shifted, so an air compressor shifts the gears directly at the gearbox. Due to the mechanical connection of the stick to the gearbox the stick moves with the paddles. :)
Love it I was a race car driver in Europe for Lancia and experimental Mercedes AMG cars that never hit the market because they were just too fast Once you go over 10k rpms, all bets are off
Très impressionnant ça pousse en permanence. Une mécanique bien préparée. Bien sûr, le pilotage est au rendez-vous et la vidéo en caméra embarqué montre l 'ensemble pilotage plus circuit. Bravo.
Fun story, not to deal with this car specifically, but should answer the question what it's a good idea to have redundant systems, but at 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Robertson Racing Doran Ford GT managed a 3rd place finish in the LMGTE-Am class , having to overcome a technical issue where the paddle shifting mechanism malfunction. The car was only able to continue because the mechanical lever was still installed.
FormulaChris085 I guess that makes sense, but that's the 24h of Le Mans, which is endurance racing. This is a hillclimb, which usually doesn't take a long time, so there's a much lower chance of the paddle shifting mechanism to break.
Sometimes you may want to shift while cornering and the paddle is not in the right position to quickly reach it. Thats when you could take advantage of the lever which is always at the exactly same, fast reachable spot.
someone competed to understand that they made him run for show, but that he drove a car driven on the edge between life and death? is it better to cut competitions or write rip pages on social media afterwards? where does passion begin where does competence end? where does the life of a sportsman begin and end? HYPOCRITES!

Beyond words... R.I.P. Georg Plasa 👍✌
Love how the gear stick still moves despite Georg having switched to paddle-shift.
From what ive heard it serves as a backup, thats why they're both connected

Best automatic gearbox I've ever seen :P
Not automatic, sequential. Has buttons on steering wheel.
he has paddle shifters on the wheel
What even is the point of having a gear lever when you already have paddle shifters?
It looks kind of funny seeing it move without him holding it.

He used it at the end of the video..
aggressivo è dir poco
this looks like his older 320 bmw
The e36 had no paddle shifter
