What I like about this movie is that it shows what happens when people panic. It also show why you shouldn't play hero and do things without having the correct knowledge and/or refusing to listen to orders/advice of those who know their shit. Thanks again, mate! :)
I'd just like to say thanks for posting the full movie, since this is one of my favorite train films, even though there are a few technical errors and the plot's got some holes in it. The beautiful Moffat Route is the real star of this show, though, a grand line to drive and ride anytime!
Its not the moffat route. It was all filmed in canada on the bcrail line. Nbc said it was denver co because nbc ia a amarican based company. I know it makes no sence but trust me its canada
The engineer of Freight 4920 will probably be fired... Muting the line radio was a fatal mistake... Accidents always happen from disregarding orders....
Erich Diebold I actually have a friend who’s father died for that reason, he was driving the engine to fast and he shut the radio down, he then wasn’t able to hear the warning, poor guy didn’t see the sharp turn that flipped him.
let me rephrase: he ignored the INITIAL instruction to back off by turning down the volume... if he had turned it back on a few mins later (when he thought the dispatcher was done saying "back off"), he would have heard the 2nd warning.
air brakes on a train work very diffrently from regular brakes. when you apply air pressure, the brakes relese, when the pressure goes down, the brakes apply. this basicly makes this hole moive impossible
If they are extended range dynamics that will work. At my RR job we have 2 SD40-2W's they are not extended range and dont work under 15mph. But then again if they stopped it then you wouldn't have much of a movie.
@@SalmanMentosObviously it serves the plot line of the movie, but handbrakes are not that tough and the alternate is dying in the wreck of a runaway train so I’d take the risk of tying on some brakes
if the knuckle had gone the cabose then after it was knocked of 4920 could of started up again hooked on to the rear gonderla and tried stopping it again.
Along with the stupidity that could have prevented the crash, I have something else to complain about......Since when does a rare AE86/85 show up in the middle of a hostage situation. They're rare enough in America but to just show up!? Right.
But he tries to save the train by connecting the brake hose, he miserably fails and gets under the train, I think that he lived because he went straight under laying under it.
Theres some IRL runaway trains that goes down the hill like cajon pass The weight of the cars and the steep grade makes it almost impossible to stop without derailing even with emergency brakes
@@SalmanMentos that was due to the loss of dynamic brakes + the train being alot more heavier than it should. The crew slammed the emergency brake as their last effort, but eventualy the brake shoes were burned out. Holding a long line of consist on a steep gradient and just relying on the trains air-brakes won't take you far, so logicaly the crew would use the dynamic brakes as it relies on the engine itself to slow the train down, but a few of the locomotive that day had their dynamic brakes out of order. You cant compare the cajon pass runaway case for this because both had different factors that leads to the accident. While here, there's a caboose on the back with crews in it and they can apply the handbrakes on. Ofc it won't do much, but it will slow the train down. Also-also, since the consist is less than 90 cars in tow, its shouldn't be that big of a deal. A leak in the airhose would automaticly put the entire train to an emergency stop. As shown in the film, the hoses disconnects halfway through the journey and yet it causes the train to run out of control when it should've slammed the brakes to a hault. But then the trains in this universe have pneumatic hydraulic brakes logic instead of a proper westinghouse ones. i hate how this film is mostly about trains and yet real railroad practices and logic doesn't apply here, the drama happens for the sake of plot.
I know it's the way Hollywood makes their movies but I pretty sure they could uncouple the freighters from the train and they could apply the brakes on the freighters. But it Hollywood's ways of marking movies
Basically its about a runaway train with no driver hiding a nuclear bomb with potential to be twice as powerful as the Mt. st hellens eruption and a disease that can wipe out half the worlds population heading from LA to Chicago

Frieght 4920 never listen to catch to run away, he shut down radio to ignore a back off. You can't be Hero.

Okayyy
The engineer of Freight 4920 will probably be fired...
Muting the line radio was a fatal mistake...

Big time. I understand he wants to help but orders are orders
Btw Frieght 4920 is also Frieght 643 if you see on top of the train
@@SalvadorUnited it’s BC rall 643
7:12 the units on 642 is flipped
There's was probably still a way to save denver
Uncouple the cars from the engines and aplie the hand brakes
Never shut off your radio at anytime! It could mean something important, like a train slowing down!
Erich Diebold I actually have a friend who’s father died for that reason, he was driving the engine to fast and he shut the radio down, he then wasn’t able to hear the warning, poor guy didn’t see the sharp turn that flipped him.
They did, but the engineer of 4920 ignored instructions to back off.
Hollywood - "we are uneducated about technology, but we got money to make movies!"
9:52 DBZ Joke iz now depressed.

LOL Funny seeing you here instead of making YTP's!
Give Rob Lower a wrench or a crowbar and he'll try ANYTHING!

Where is that bridge at 13:41 at?
This film's great, but has WAY too many flaws, goofs, and side-plots!
The Subaru legacy turbo..powerful car
If the dynamics hadn't held when going at speed maybe they would of held when the train was at 10mph.
Basically the M-424s have dynamic brakes. These probably are the M-420s, which don't have dynamics.
4:01 talk about an all American nightmare
Anyone ever think of the handbrakes on the cars?
Handbrakes are really tough and its not worth it because youre at risk of falling when turning the handbrakes on a runaway train going downhill

dynamics will not work if the train is already under ten mph.
9:55 ITS OVER NINE THO- no wait, its exactly 9000. aww man, looks like im not needed here.
I like that the subtitles are in swedish
They wouldn't have been able to engage many of them since the train is pretty long.
Anyone else noticed the text at 11:15??? lol
@VwErik88
in germany.breaks are closing when the air pressure is gone. so that means a train without air pressure cant drive
Along with the stupidity that could have prevented the crash, I have something else to complain about......Since when does a rare AE86/85 show up in the middle of a hostage situation. They're rare enough in America but to just show up!? Right.
Train damage 9:29
Use a crowbar to hit engine and stop 642???
It would have been nice to have a fighter jet blow the chase freight off the tracks but the Pres called it back right?
I mean 4920
No he was trying to say I’m gonna blow the runaway off the tracks😊
No kidding! (Sorry for such a late response!)
That's Hollywood for ya!
I am just now noticing that they could of applied all the hand brakes and the train would of slowed down alot
Its not worth the risk of falling + handbrakes are tough + theyre panicking + they need to apply it one at a time
Not a bridge. ARGH. Great, they might have to hop it at 30 miles >.
13:49 *TRACKING* -----*-------
they jump off and the other guy I still on well... he's screwed
But he tries to save the train by connecting the brake hose, he miserably fails and gets under the train, I think that he lived because he went straight under laying under it.
Wrong watch it againg. He gets cut in half. Watch the train wheel to the left slitely pop up.
Mainly to make the film longer!
@844trainman yeh that´s strange
im pretty sure that an emergency can stop a locomotive only easily

Why not apply the handbrakes on the railcars????
I know, I'm just messin' with ya'!
7:42 brakes applied
Don't get it, why at the the top of the grade when the were under 10 mph did they not just set the hand brakes on the cars
@predatortheme Yeh that sounds like a good safty, i have the same thing at my truck at the job
@colliecandle yea a lot of people don't realise that this is only a film. Its all fake
9:40 the train wasn't even moving looks like they forgot to add the green screen effect lol
@LyubaAllenovna
Or at minimum, never mute your radio...
4920 Applied it’s brakes but it’s too late he slammed into the caboose

wait.. if the 1 train bracks was gone UES THE AONTHER TRAIN'S BRACKS
Conducter49, i thought the same thing
Another idea would be to throw the controls into reverse, that way your applying an opposite force on the direction your heading.
The nuclear bomb is in the flammable chemicals box car
@predatortheme haha :D yehh, whay don´t dereal the train on the top of the hill widh many sandbumps
Un cople the first engine then use the second one
Even less braking power
no that train had a nuke on it
Nuke and nuclear weapons are THE SAME EXACT THING!🙄
@wileyk209zback haha :D probleby :P
lolwut? he gets off then jumps on again? DERP?
9:06 did he really go notch 8 and then go emergency brake??!! Pure STUPIDITY!!!!
i know what they could have done! they could have decoupled the train..
Then, the cars would roll uncontrollably down the track and the hill
No me gusto como el hombre con cabello amarillo murio tratando de conectar los cables y se resvala con el valde y se cae abajo de las ruedas del tren

I am planning on making a rip off of this movie
