Since this video was made before the nerf the Attack affects the damage of the Impact discharge. After the patch, this does not happen anymore HOWEVER, if you go with an Elemental Discharge (fire, water, dragon etc)- elemental damage jewels does affect the discharge quite significantly. With the Rathalos Charge Blade I did about 70 damage without fire attack up, and with +3 Fire attack (max for that weapon) it went all the way up to 97. So it's now very viable to go against monsters who are weak to an element with said element.
Artillery only increases phial damage of Cb’s with Impact Phials NOT power element phials. So Artillery Jem is not useful for Elemental builds with the exception of Dante’s sword which is Lightning Elemental but has Impact Phials.
I am just curious. When you reaload your weapon for the second time (with charged shield) you can also charge up your blade (R2 + Circle + Triangle hold) You will have your filles reloaded and blade charged. Also does the charged sword affects the Discharge ?

You dont need crit boost on this build, your phial damage doesnt crit and you're running the diablos weapon which dont crit alot having negative affinity so putting crit boost is a waste of slot.

you keep discounting crit chance? two hits from your phil discharge are physical and crit chance will boost that. also sword and shield are all subject to crit. to me its a must. just a thought...

No. Can't get more than 3 stats of it anyways. The jewels are only for builds that goes around the charm trying to get some other stats instead, like say Peak Performance.

But if you go with an elemental Charge Blade and increase the elemental value with fire/water/dragon jewel, that does increase the damage of the discharge. So if a monster has weakness 3 or 4 against a specific type of element, that element is very viable to use against said monster.

TO CCL Wait so Attack Boosts don't affect Impact Phial damage anymore? I knew they nerfed stun values of some moves but that's news to me. Huh.

Charges lasts for a set amount of time depending on how many vials you charged it with. The sword charge does not affect the discharge

It doesn't affect the phial damage anymore. It only increases attack damage of the weapon itself
