  • OK...........I don't claim to be a Blender expert by any means----my forte is getting 3D .obj files to be printable, and this is the method I use to get car bodies for example to be done. Blender has many plusses, but one disadvantage it has is it does not thicken car bodies up very well without causing some issues with the surface. This is when trying to use its solidify modifier. I've only found it to make a mess.
I'm showing here my method as to how it can be done, while keeping the car's shape intact without looking "bloated", while getting the proper wall thickness which is essential for 3D printing. as I've seen others try to use other methods or applications, and that's how they appear to me.
Hope this helps-----there's little to no info out there on how to do this, and this is something I had to learn on my own.

I used WIndows 11 built in XBox app to screen record this. Unfortunately, a window or two is not showing when I'm trying to Import/Export the object to the .obj or .stl format. Those of you that use Blender will know what I'm talking about, but for newbies wondering where I'm importing/exporting-----there's a separate window that pops up when you hit either function under "File".
The recording app is not showing that.

Thank you Bill for taking the time to explain your process. I’ll watch this again when I get more lessons in blender.
