I love what Jerry said about letting the grouse beat us once in a while. In PA and NJ where I hunt, the grouse really took a hit from West Nile virus. You might think I’m nuts but about 15 years ago I started practicing catch and release hunting, purposely shooting behind the grouse. The hunt was still there. The flush was still there. I got to shoot and follow up and shoot again. Of course I didn’t get to eat them, but as Jerry said; “Were not starving”. Just something to think about, especially those of you who hunt states where grouse populations are way down.
I don’t know why the comments are so negative, thank you for the information and really good on explaining conservation in the game, everyone can afford chicken is a good analogy, it’s not about a limit
