I think Bette’s issue with Carrie is that she is someone she didn’t expect Tina to choose as a partner. Not saying there isn’t some jealousy at play too but Bette has met her match and Pippa checks all the boxes. Tina doesn’t. If you pay attention you would see that Tina treated Bette worse than the other way around. Tina was is the most toxic of the two but folks don’t see past her soft spoken persona. She pretty much walked out in Angie and didn’t attend Kit’s funeral. That is foul. She can kick rocks. 😒
This will go down as one of my favorite scenes in The L Word Universe. Jennifer Beals has a phenomenal range that ensnares you in Bette Porter's emotional realm. She goes from happy to seeing Pippa, to conversant in an off-handed manner to inquisitive to elated to exquisitely vulnerable. Her moments of vulnerability were/are always expressed with people who have keen insight as to who she is (Kit was a marvel at reading Bette and loving her despite her characteristic flaws). Bette loves hard and she expects to be loved in the same manner. She does not suffer fools. She's extremely passionate, intelligent, demanding, elegant, eloquent and drop dead gorgeous. Pippa brings to Bette's life a living embodiment of what art means to her and how it should reflect but also demand of one the very best.

Remember she doesn't have much experience in this new role but I can see her liking it. I am just not ready to see her cry. I do have a question because I'm still new to this. But why as women, we hurt each other, why do we cry so much when we're supposed to be empathetic, different from men and should protect each other. Davonna, This is what I have been saying. I rewatched the old series recently and paid attention to Bette and Tina’s relationship. They are not equally yoked and were not on the same page about so many things. Every decision was an argument. They got along the best when they were around their friends. Many fans were blinded by their physical chemistry but outside of that I don’t think they are a good couple. They are better off as friends if they will let go of their hurt.

Very powerful and both of them cried a little. Pippa said, I put my soul into my work!😢 Vanessa is a treasure and killing those scenes because she lived especially with the Colorism bullcrap and not getting leading love roles because her complexion is darker. So she expressed that she is happy and excited to play Bette's love interest. But I'm still nervous though because i better not see a tear from Pippa next episode.

As always In her mind Bette a fuck up. So she’s making Carrie and her insecurities Bette fault . She believed Bette didn’t fight hard for Angie. Why didn’t she fight herself. Once again Bette takes heat . Im sick of her and Bette deserve better. She only told Bette she was a good mom bc her ass was jealous and was trying to soften her pull on Bette heart . Let me count the ways I hate Tina toxic ass . Ms goody goody but in reality she’s a bigger fuck up than Bette but she will never admit it.
I think Bette’s issue with Carrie is that she is someone she didn’t expect Tina to choose as a partner. Not saying there isn’t some jealousy at play too but Bette has met her match and Pippa checks all the boxes. Tina doesn’t. If you pay attention you would see that Tina treated Bette worse than the other way around. Tina was is the most toxic of the two but folks don’t see past her soft spoken persona. She pretty much walked out in Angie and didn’t attend Kit’s funeral. That is foul. She can kick rocks. 😒

This will go down as one of my favorite scenes in The L Word Universe. Jennifer Beals has a phenomenal range that ensnares you in Bette Porter's emotional realm. She goes from happy to seeing Pippa, to conversant in an off-handed manner to inquisitive to elated to exquisitely vulnerable. Her moments of vulnerability were/are always expressed with people who have keen insight as to who she is (Kit was a marvel at reading Bette and loving her despite her characteristic flaws). Bette loves hard and she expects to be loved in the same manner. She does not suffer fools. She's extremely passionate, intelligent, demanding, elegant, eloquent and drop dead gorgeous. Pippa brings to Bette's life a living embodiment of what art means to her and how it should reflect but also demand of one the very best.

Damn, we did it, we won, I got you!!! I felt Vanessa working those scenes and becoming more loose and relaxed kissing Bette. Remember she doesn't have much experience in this new role but I can see her liking it. I am just not ready to see her cry. I do have a question because I'm still new to this. But why as women, we hurt each other, why do we cry so much when we're supposed to be empathetic, different from men and should protect each other. My first experience and maybe last was nice, different but full of tears. I cried so much because she was still connected to an ex but claimed she wasn't in love with the person anymore. It was crazy for me as it was a spiritual and emotional battle for me. I just asked but msybe we're not as different from a man. Women play more emotional and manipulative games to me. Exes are a complicated situation. Especially if the person you're involved with is not the one who called it off, but the ex did. Because most likely, the person hasn't let go. I do think women do play more emotionally manipulative games. Maybe not all women, but it has been my experience.
I'm sorry your first experience was full of tears. Don't give up. I think most can relate. And when the right person comes along, it will be ok.

it's all a test and angst. Pippa walks in on Tina, yelling her bullshit that Bette did somerhing to cause Carrie not to show up. Bette saying, I'm sorry but truthfully she didn't do anything wrong to Carrie. Why does Bette have to make Carrie feel secured when it's Tina's job. We have no scenes to indicate that both of them are still in love with each other. Carrie is insecured of their history but Bette shouldn't be blamed for their process. Carrie said bad things about Bette, Tina corrected her, Carrie stormed off lol and now all Tibette fans feel like Bette and Tina are in love. Tibette fans are quoting that Jennifer stated for the fans to be patient.. I'm not sure what that means but Jennifer better use her influence to continue exploring Pippa as her love interest.

I'm sorry all the tibette fans even myself back then was caught up in the love scenes and physical chemistry. But if you really really delve into their relationship, it was very toxic, more crying than laughter, parent issues and abusive on many levels. They say two hurt people will always hurt each other. How come we never heard, well at least i don't remember about Tina's parents. They both have abandonment and detachment issues, i think.

Davonna, This is what I have been saying. I rewatched the old series recently and paid attention to Bette and Tina’s relationship. They are not equally yoked and were not on the same page about so many things. Every decision was an argument. They got along the best when they were around their friends. Many fans were blinded by their physical chemistry but outside of that I don’t think they are a good couple. They are better off as friends if they will let go of their hurt.

It's a breath of fresh air to see Bette explore black love because we haven't seen it. I am seeing growth with Bette and her transparency moments with Pippa. Rewatch the episode and listen to what Bette told Pippa in her office when she made the offer to her. Bette acknowledged that she had yet to scratch the surface of who she is as black woman too. Very powerful and both of them cried a little. Pippa said, I put my soul into my work!😢 Vanessa is a treasure and killing those scenes because she lived especially with the Colorism bullcrap and not getting leading love roles because her complexion is darker. So she expressed that she is happy and excited to play Bette's love interest. But I'm still nervous though because i better not see a tear from Pippa next episode.
