Eric Peterson and Alex skolnick are the BEST tandom. Alex skolnick is a guitar God. Best lead thrash guitarist in my book. Number 1. Best thrash band EVER. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of the best guitarists for sure but definitely not the best thrash band. Lots of better ones out there. Not saying Testament are bad but not in the top 10 :)
I did not ever forget the amazing Eric Peterson! Without his amazing rhythms and occasional lead there would be no testament! He and Chuck kept that band together for all these years , and Bob bless ‘em for that ! Chuck had a bout with some illness a few years back , and I’m glad he’s still here with us .
Alex is in a league of his own. This song makes me feel like what i imagine a peaceful musical death would be like. When a song sparks an emotion like that is what seperates the greatest guitar players from the good ones
I was there in Reggio emilia IT WAS 1992 ! It was an incredible 1 day festival with some of the best bands of the period. Pantera warrant megadeth testament black sabbath iron maiden, for 15 dollars approximately. Today it seems to be unreal it was the golden age of metal ! Great Alex Skolnick !
Peterson and sckolnick easily floats into eachother, one of the best live performances they did!! Epic, one of the best trash band on earth and very underatted band, they belong in the big 4, and still at this day still holding to there roots 🤘🤘
Listen carefully kids! This was how it sounded like before Evertune Bridge during a real life concert! These guys ruled my teenage years! Bless them! 🤘
My soul is off my body is flying over the sea next to the cluds, wind, birds ETC. i cant not feel more free i cant feel more good more calm, relax i dont need nothing to be happy just music THIS music
I agree. He is one of my main influences from back in the day when I started playing. He is underated because he quit at the height of his career. He went out to try his hand at jazz and never recovered. I think he wanted to be like a Satriani type player but just couldn't pull it off. I've always considered him in that high class of virtuosos though. His work speaks for itself. And he was a pro at age sixteen! No metal prodigy can touch this guy.
Love that jackson kelly and of course this amazingly sad song. Hail testament. I got their tape at kmart when i was 11 yrs old of "low" i liked the cover and have forever been a fantill this day.
Last year I saw Slayer for the 14th time, Testament for the 2nd (and I feel honored for this) and Megadeth for the 1st. THAT was EPIC!! Chuck Billy has the greatest voice in metal.
beautiful, tears in my eyes, well these 2 songs for me are 2 of the best things they made, nothing to say,i saw them here in curitiba-brazil,this years, great, alex for me is one of top 10 guitars of the world.
In the late 80’s early 90’s these guys were being brought up to be an heir apparent to the thrash SF scene to the mighty Met ! Think the different direction and production of the ritual made a slight change for not the better . The ritual is an amazing album , but just didn’t hit as hard as the new order ,practice , or souls . Also to mention Alex Skolnick was ready to leave and do something completely different, jazz ! That’s not a bad form of music , definitely changed my perspective of metal music , you could hear the difference in all of the other ‘metal’ bands at the time . Exhibit A and a stint in savatage and Ozzy for like a second . I was like ‘you don’t want to play metal and be a jazzy martini guy , now you’re going back to the well’? Testament was not afraid to venture into new waters of music . The stylings of Alex’s fluidity of notes and time changes flowed . Souls of black the song was very jazzy in its approach, bass line is almost r&b . Skolnick leaves , they got heavier and used lower tunings . Almost unrecognizable to my ears , didn’t listen to them for many years after that . Only after reunion with Skolnick did I give a listen , and it sounded like the old testament. Now many years later I see this video and I am reminded of how ignorant I can be and how this band changed my perspective of metal music , and music in general. Love the Testament!
Combo of two songs - Look at the vid title - Musical Death (A Dirge) appears on the album The New Order [ Instrumental song ] and flows right into a later tune The Legacy from the album Souls of Black [ IMO one of their best melodic metal tunez. ]
This song always reminds me of my friend Brian who was killed in 1992 at 15yrs old. He gave me a taped copy of this before he died. RIP BRIAN
Rip Brian
RIP Brian. 🤘🔥💙
RIP Brian
RIP Brian
He knew beautiful gutair. This one's for Brian.
Crowd was weak for such an iconic masterpiece.

Skolnick and Peterson are such amazing players, there is always some esoteric feel to their music.
The Legacy and The New Order = two of the best Bay Area Thrash albums of all time!
I did not ever forget the amazing Eric Peterson!

Testament kicks ass! Alex Skolnick is one of the best lead guitarists ever imo.
Alex is in a league of his own. This song makes me feel like what i imagine a peaceful musical death would be like. When a song sparks an emotion like that is what seperates the greatest guitar players from the good ones
The Metallica that never has been...I never understood why Testament didn't get as huge as they should.
Testament made a "bad" commercial decision: not selling out.
Please don't compare Metallica with Testament. Testament is way better than Metallica
Testament beat the shit out of Metallica any day.
this can only be a joke with my fucking face of course the testament has always been and will always be better than metallica, yeaaah
Jeremy Cubs Testament is huge!!
What a great voice chuck has here
I absolutely love Musical Death (A Dirge). It is in fact, my ultimate song ever. I cry every time I hear it. I get chills.
Big respect to original Drummer louie C., His simple yet effective and musical playing make him my favorite testament drummer of all.
Easily my favorite Testament song! Timeless classic!
The same in my case!!! The really touching anthem of Thrash Metal ballads!!! The very best of Testame!!! \m/

Skolnick is an absolute beast!!
Great!! 1992 Monsters of Rock at Reggio Emilia, I was there and i remember this song just like it happened yesterday. Heavy Metal never die!!
This is the testament I remember the most man. There's nothing better than the original line up imo. That's when they wrote their best songs/albums..
I love Testament!
this is an exmaple of greatness of metal music
uno dei pochi gruppi che dal vivo sono MEGLIO che in studio! Grandiosi!
Alex is the most under-rated guitarist ever.
This is music. Real music.
One of my all time favorite bands!!!
Listen carefully kids! This was how it sounded like before Evertune Bridge during a real life concert! These guys ruled my teenage years! Bless them! 🤘
17yrs later and watching this...

I like Eric's solo.....I like the line: "Just another lonely boy"....gives me goosebumps like Dime's Floods' solo.
skolnick y peterson 👌 hace un año que no escuchaba este tema, los amo 😍
