I believe I just switched religions...what a rhythm section, Anna Butterss on bass & drummer Beth Goodfellow, nothing short of fantastic! The drum groove reminds me of Ziggy Modeliste.
I listen to this and I'm perplexed as to who to admire while listening(I like to focus on one instrument sometimes) and each of them attract my attention and as I'm like "wow she's killing it on the drums", Madison does something elegant on the guitar and as I'm focusing there anna butters plays a smooth groove, incredible musicians all around
Stunning! Madison Cunningham has raised the bar to such a level of Excellence that everything she produces is of the highest caliber. Songwriting and performance. I have not heard filler material from her, ever!
The vibe here is INCREDIBLE !! Props to 88.5 FM for a super clean mix, and a video that captures their intuitive chemistry on brilliant display. I saw these talented ladies, (Anna Butterss-Bass & Beth Goodfellow-Drums) support Madison live onstage, at the Wiltern in LA, as the opener for Andrew Bird's "My finest work yet' tour. They both have extensive jazz backgrounds and were just excellent onstage with her. They seem to be jamming together when Madison is in So Cal. Elsewhere on tour, she utilizes Bird's touring band (Abe Rounds, Alan Hampton, Chester Tyler-Keys). That also works, as they played on her studio recording of "Who are you now," and she plays guitar and sings in support of Andrew onstage during his set. Chester also produces much of Madison's music. Extremely impressed with Ms. Goodfellow, as she used sticks, mallets & brushes to great effect during "LA: looking alive." Why are there no YT video for this show?? I would Love to see these two become the core touring band for Madison's future live shows.
Absolutely incredible! Such a talented songwriter/musician/singer, and that band! The mix here! There aren't enough exclamation points to convey how happy this bit of moving air makes me! Madison's gonna be big, or at least she should be (justice/taste/world/etc.)!
How about a Grammy..? ..., (she's. been nominated twice )..... I think just for her sheer songwriting ability.. (as well as her instrumental and vocal "chops"...).. that she deserves one..!!! She is TALENTED...!!!! 🎶❣👍
@@richardgleichmann7671 meh grammy doesn't really mean anything, of course its nice for the artist to have but its more a commercial promotion show than anything, you need money to win grammies
The bass player is such a vibe… totally how the song makes me feel too
That rig of hers makes one of the greatest guitar sounds of all time.

Thanks for naming the band! That's how I found out Anna Butterss is amazing on her own too!

Band is AMAZING! Song is AMAZING!
The guitars are pure perfection here. So clever, thought through and executed.
3:14 bassist is almost embarrassed by how good it sounds. Nice job, beautiful dynamics all around
with good reason too; what a crazy good moment there
@@jeffroberts_tunes I agree, that line really synced my brainwaves :-)
A perfect live performance, sublime
I'm over 2yrs coming back to this song regularly..its a beauty
I seen her play with a few different backing bands but this is by far my favorite. They look like they're having so much fun and they are so solid
Madison and her band are just amazing. Great chemistry.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, yep... it did. Amazing.

Absolute perfection.
Watching this again I’m laughing... giving away her music online... She’s so freaking good I’ll pay almost any sum to see her live. Take my money
cool!!!
This is one of the best performances of this tune. I like it better than the original record's version.
We really love Madison's record.... but we also REALLY love THIS performance too!!!!
Incredible❤
Is it Toradaa in the Bass? Uau so good, what a groovie bass lines, love it
incredible!
foda de verdade.
That bassist though
Love the Scofield minor seconds. how hip is this?
he did not invent this
😍
joni mitchell big time love this
Not to sound like a geek, but who's the bass player?💛
Anna Butterss on bass!
Wow, this is fantastic! Still trying to figure out the guitar tuning. All I can tell is that it starts with drop-C, but the rest - anyone?
It's a baritone guitar but I don't know if there have been any other adjustments to the tuning on it.
I was trying to suss out tuning too but I only got as far as drop C. She's got a great feel and sound.
Standard tuning 2 steps down. So regular shapes but E is C
She has a video on how to play it on her channel now if you're still wondering!
@@adelaidee6053 Thanks!
It's like.. what if a Lady like Kate came along, but liked Guitar as much as keys. TY.
There ain't no way she's not getting inducted in the rock and roll hall of fame

SO pocketful. Didn't need that little bit of post-production sauce on it, but hey, still me favorite youtube take of this great song.
P-O-C-K-E-T
Is this 7/8?
some of the chorus yeah
John Mayer vibes...
Plays arpeggios while singing; but shorter bars ❤
Fanboy! 100% amazing...
i sure love you all together, I wanted Beth and another female to join you, Madison. Really tight and tasty work . Awesome.
So tasty, so sweet.
She really loves those minor 9ths - amazing band
