I have a Decathlon near me....I shall have to take another visit as i'm planning my Camino for a months time. Just a top tip to add here...When buying clothing that says "Merino" on the label look for what percentage is Merino and what is Cotton or Polyester, because you will find usually that the less Merino in the item the cheaper it is, but the manufacturer uses the word Merino as a selling point when in actual fact there's not much in it and its not as useful as it appears. For the full benefit of a Merino wool item you are looking for close to 100% Merino on the label.
You can see by the price tag which merino percentage is in an item, the 100% will cost triple prize of a normal tshirt- but it’s worth it!
Erika is just adorable! I went to decathlon last week and a lot of the summer gear was on sale here in Italy. I got myself 2 T-shirts in merino wool at 9,99€ and 2 winter sweatshirts at 5€, one jacket at 19,99. I bought myself a new backpack for my next camino which is smaller than the previous one, I got an Osprey Myra 32 for 132€ . And for the summer I got asics trabuco trail running shoes on amazon for 70€. Winter Sales are the best time to get new summer gears!
Yes to sales! Good to hear from you Chiara :) Hugs from both of us
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing and not making novices feel 'dumb'. ;). I'm hoping to start El Camino in the early fall, winter someplace warmish and finish El Camino in the primavera (trying. to avoid some of the crowd...). 🤞🌞
Thanks! Welcome to the community, any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to ask...
Thank you for the ideas! I imagine there is much gear left behind at the end of the Camino. Are there any organizations, groups, or stores that collect the used gear and sell it at a discount? As you said, much of the gear will still be quite useful for a second, third, or tenth Camino. Please let us know if there are any used gear shops in the towns along the Camino Frances route. If so, the shop name and town would be a big help! Thank you both!
In every main city there is a big hiking shop and also a decathlon market so anytime you need something, you can get it! Hugs
@@caminotellers That's great news. Grazie, Gracias, Merci, Obrigado, and Thanks!
I like decathlon a lot. Generally good quality for an acceptable price. But i would not like to cut down on my shoes.
Soooo true!
How did you two meet? Love your videos 👍🙂
You won’t believe it wasn’t when walking… dancing!
Paying on the Camino, paper Euros or Plastic Cards, what the most commonly accepted?
Can you join our live session tonight? We will answer to your question! 😊 If not the recording will be available during 24hrs!
Where is that store so I can get those prices?
These is the Decathlon, sport supermarket, check it online! Hugs
Please no décatlhon 🙈🙉🙊🤣
Mmm, sometimes it is the only option…
