Guys, you are like the best import the spaniards have had in the last 12 months. Your attitude and positivity is simple great. Your depiction of the spanish way of life, customs etc. is simply spot-on (I'm a Spaniard myself and know Galicia fairly well. Great content!! I've done the Francés from Frankfurt to Finisterre and will do the Primitivo in May, like youselves, only a year later. Keep this up!
Laney…. You played as big a part in my life on the Camino as Rick Steeves did when I went to Greece! I watched both your videos on women’s packing list and 5 top things. I followed it religiously and was the most prepared! The lambs wool, the Altra sneakers, the merino wool socks, the silk liners ! And my merino wool sunproof from Ridge. No blisters, never cold, all the right items. My 3 sisters needed to borrow all my stuff! I did send them your video but no one followed it. People, take the advice of people who have walked and learned!! Buen Camino 😊
Wow, thank you so much. Being compared to Rick Steves is the highest compliment for me! ❤ I'm so glad that you were well prepared and had a wonderful camino.
This video had me laughing so much... my favorite part was when Shawn said "Look at our old socks!" while Lainey insists that her lambswool is clean. Hilarious!! But also super valuable tips, and now I'm thinking I need to try using a Kula cloth!
Ahahaha. Thanks! Glad we could bring a laugh. Seriously, give the Kula cloth a try! I can’t believe they aren’t more of a thing in the Camino community.
Another solid video, thanks guys! I remember wearing my buff for the entire 1st month of Covid lockdown before I could get masks. Extremely versatile. Chao
Hi 👋, I am Grace from California. You two are duch a positive, fun couple. This video, as well as all the other videos, is very informative. Thank you. 🌞🌻
I love my buff I use it on every hike and for blister control I use Leko tape, I put it on before any hike and able to leave it on for about 4 days before replacing.
Those are a great option if you like the toe sock type. I (Lainey) love toe socks but I can only wear them on day hikes. For the camino, they just don’t work on my swollen feet.
You 2 are hilarious! 😂 I've been wearing 2 layers of socks when I hike for...well...since forever! I don't think Ive ever got a blister as long as I have 2 layers of socks. A wicking layer and a wool layer. A few years ago I switched to toe socks liners, and they're amazing! They keep my toes separated so I don't need to weave lambs wool between them 😂
Thanks so much!!! Glad you're on the sock liner train, too! Shawn doesn't like toe socks and I love mine for day hikes, but they kinda irritate my toes after a full day on the Camino.
What a wonderful video. As a senior I am presently gathering advice and lightweight tips. Did you do a video on backpacks? I am interested in how much you can get in a lumbar one and if you send your luggage ahead every day.
Thanks so much. You can see Shawn's lumbar pack list here: ua-cam.com/video/TTnPGfNDhMc/v-deo.html I have a packing list for a small backpack as well as a bag review video on my favorite backpack: ua-cam.com/video/zL7vZXcuu8o/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/AEoYyafJ3ME/v-deo.html We've never shipped our bags ahead, but some people do. Buen Camino!
Ahh, a camino video! nice. Here's an idea...how about a close look at some interesting or weird or unusual Spanish cultural experiences. Both just unique things about Spain, and surprises for Americano's...could be two videos :)
This is so helpful. You're reducing a lot of the anxiety of shopping for me. Our Camino starts in November! Question: what do you think about (Injiji) toe socks?
Very good practical advice which will be incorporated into our upcoming April-May Camino Frances journey. I love your always upbeat and joyful presentations. Keep it up.
Great video guys! Love the hilarity! Glad you're getting down to the nitty-gritty as well. Question about the towels… I have waist length, very thick hair. I worry that even the largest little microfiber towel is going to be too skimpy to absorb any water from my hair. What say you?
Thank you! You can definitely make a microfiber towel work. I (Lainey) have super thick hair. I sometimes wring out the towel and then really rub my hair down. Even then though, if it's cold or humid, there's not much a towel does to dry my hair - microfiber or not. I also give my hair a really good (and gentle) wringing out in the shower before I use the towel.
Just found you two - since I'm binging videos about the Camino. My husband and I, are "hopefully" going to be able to do ours Spring 2025. I have to say, you two are so cute, you had me smiling and cracking up with how you laugh at each other. Love the light heartedness and fun approach to doing the camino and walking. After all, if it's not fun - why do it. Thanks!
Yup. 100% of my clothing, sleep sack, toiletries, snacks, food, camera gear, and everything I use on the Camino fits in my 7L lumbar pack. I don't ship anything ahead. I even pack a drone and a drone controller in there. Somehow it all works!
It goes against your skin in a small piece. That piece acts like a barrier between your skin and the sock that's rubbing against it. The wool sticks to the sock, so you won't need tape to hold it in place. It's a bit tricky to put it on while you put your sock on.

I love using the Buff as a blinder for sleeping in the albergue. Just fold it once or twice for it to block light.
That’s brilliant. And yet another reason why they’re amazing!
Going on my first Camino in September. Thanks for the info. What I really enjoyed was a cute couple who are clearly enjoying life together.
Thank you so much.

I remember wearing my buff for the entire 1st month of Covid lockdown before I could get masks. Extremely versatile. Chao
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching. The buff is the best!
Great vids. The best light packing I have seen on the interwebs.
Thank you so much!

❤️❤️❤️ thanks!
As always, it is a very informative video. Thank you for adding the link for the Socks Liners.
Thanks so much!
You guys cracked me up. Great tips too!
Thanks so much!

Leuko tape is a great choice!
A great footage-especially about Sox linings -I can’t agree more. I’d be going on Camino at the end of next month.
Thank you! Buen Camino!
Wonderful items! You two are charming and adventurous! Hazah!!
Thanks so much!
the towel looks super useful, so so tiny! i will order it for my trip, thanking you for the suggestions
It's really great! We're so glad we upgraded to it.
I love the t-shirt! And the rest of the video, of course!
Thanks so much!
Hi,
You mentioned the socks line.
How about Injiji Finger socks liner?
Those are a great option if you like the toe sock type. I (Lainey) love toe socks but I can only wear them on day hikes. For the camino, they just don’t work on my swollen feet.
You 2 are hilarious! 😂

oops, I meant such a wonderful, positive, and fun couple😊
Thank you!
Excellent tips! Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the ideas! 😍
This is so helpful. You're reducing a lot of the anxiety of shopping for me. Our Camino starts in November! Question: what do you think about (Injiji) toe socks?
That's awesome! I (Lainey) love Injiji socks for day hiking. I have long toes so they start to bother me if I wear them multiple days.
So useful! Thx
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant video
Thank you!
That was fun 😂
Thanks!
Very good practical advice which will be incorporated into our upcoming April-May Camino Frances journey. I love your always upbeat and joyful presentations. Keep it up.
Thanks so much! Buen Camino!
Hello. I am planning on 'testing' Arles route in May 2024
@@upuridiotgodarse Wow! Let us know how it is!
very interesting
😄
Great info thank you! Do you put the hiking wool directly on the hot spot or between liner and outer sock?
Thank you! The hiking wool goes directly on the hot spot. You want the wool against your skin.
haha, your T-shirt rocks! 😁 Very.. Asturian 💪
Thanks! Also Galician.
¡La camiseta! 😂
LOL!!!

@@LisaFladager You're welcome!
Lambswool. It’s ironic that it’s not available in Spain since Spain is where merino wool originated from.
Right!? 😂

Thanks so much!! Camino 2025! You've got this!
I’m going in September and would like any input that you can give me concern of packing for the weather in the terrain at that time of year
September varies a lot. Expect many hot days and some rain and cold towards the end or at elevation. Buen Camino!
You don’t travel with a backpack? Everything fits in your lumbar pack?
Yup. 100% of my clothing, sleep sack, toiletries, snacks, food, camera gear, and everything I use on the Camino fits in my 7L lumbar pack. I don't ship anything ahead. I even pack a drone and a drone controller in there. Somehow it all works!
I don't understand how do you use lambswool
It goes against your skin in a small piece. That piece acts like a barrier between your skin and the sock that's rubbing against it. The wool sticks to the sock, so you won't need tape to hold it in place. It's a bit tricky to put it on while you put your sock on.

I'm sorry to hear you don't bring a Bible to read.
Catholics don't need bibles
