The thing about Mineta is that he gets character development.
I used to haaate Mineta, but due to recent events in the Manga I’m actually okay with him.
Like he’s one of the people who comes of as selfish and wierd, but is there for his friends when it counts.
Actions speak louder than words and sometimes an image is not an accurate presentation of what a person thinks or feels and that goes for a looooot of characters in MHA.
Being there for his friends when it counts is cool and all, but it's kind of the bare minimum, though. That can be said for every member of the class. Where we want him to develop is in his treatment of women. And even after all these years, there's still been zero progress there. He gets punished from time to time, but that's usually played up as a joke, and he's never shown regret or remorse, or even just a paradigm shift in how he views women. In the calm, non-villainous moments, he's still the same guy that hit on an elementary schooler abuse victim, and that tried to peep on his classmates multiple times. That's why we don't like him. And at this point, it's too late for him to go into an arc of learning to respect women, so I don't see him ever being anything but my least favorite class member. To say he's gotten character development is like saying "this character murders puppies and mocks people who like to knit as a hobby, but look! Now they've taken up knitting! Character development!" It's not the area that needed development lmao
@@BeyondBlue22 You dont read the manga? They just said hes changed so much now, and not saying what hes done is bad but if thats the case then im curious why endevor is allowed to change but not mineta? I support minetas character growth
The fact that Mineta has had more consistent character development than Enji is honestly kind of insane lol
@@BeyondBlue22I think you don’t read the Manga. First off, Mineta gets away with a lot cause unlike Muten Roshi, Con, Jiraya and Sanji he is still a kid.
But after what happens in seasons six, Mineta not only stops saying and doing wierd stuff entirely, cause the situation is getting too serious for that. He also supports and is attracted to the women in the show who is not exactly what is conventionally considered attractive in Japan and that’s Stars and Stripes.
And for „being there“ I really don’t want to spoil anything, but Mineta does something really touching and „ballsy“ and is willing to sacrifice himself for Tokoyami and like, you will not be able to guess the final team fights…it’s so dope and definitely unexpected of who is up against who. Mineta also says some really cute stuff and is frustrated with himself and even apologises when it is revealed that not only Spinner was a victim of racism, but that another one of his classmates was basically tortured for his entire childhood and suffered greatly through the CRK and that’s not Tokoyami.
Like MHA from now on gets really dark and real, but also the character development and all the payoff is super satisfying.

Like Enji had a breakdown by unexpectedly becoming number one, that really made him question his life and his choices…which is brought up by Dabi too like „now that you’re on top you suddenly look at your kids cause you fear to be alone and think you can get close to them again“.
And it’s super realistic, cause a lot of abusive parents try to rekindle with their kids in their fourties because the realisation of what comes next and that there isn’t much time left, as well as the willingness of reflection suddenly hits them.
That said Enji always has been a grey area character and all the reactions from his kids about forgiveness, hate and remaining contempt are all valid.
So for me, as an adult, Enji is one of the best written characters in Anime in general, cause he is realistic while still being existing in this super powered fictional world.
He has to watch the next 3 episodes at the same time.
