The conversation with Overhaul was done much better in the manga, and even explained why Deku was in the right to not let go of the girl right away.
The issue here is that Overhaul couldn't know that the two were there to investigate him. Deku directly thought during the talk with Overhaul that no hero would simply turn away when being presented with a child in this situation, but would be compelled to ask further questions. If Deku would have followed Lemillion's lead, it would have been a clear indication for Overhaul that the two had a no-interaction order regarding him, and would have tipped him off on the investigation.
So, while Deku's actions were the more dangerouse way in the sense that it might have started a fight without Eri's reaction, it is also the action that endangered the investigation less by providing the necessary clues about it.

This exactly, it's not that he's investigating further because he can't help himself (though that's probably part of it) but also because it would be suspicious not to.
All in all, it's good they were both there because I think individually they would've blown it.

@@wave6553 agreed. The only thing that annoys me a bit about the anime here is that the internal monologue of Mirio is shown, but not of Deku. This creates the impression that the actions of Mirio are calculated, and Deku's are impulsive, which simply isn't the case when you have depictions of both train of thoughts.

Exactly, it would be much weirder to not ask questions in that situation. It literally looked like he was trying to kidnap a child....

@@Mysterios1989 Well even in the anime Deku straight up says "No he will be more suspicious then" "a hero wouldn't just let a scared child go", the sentiment is right there spelled out.

Not sure you picked up on it, but the villains at 12:11 are the same ones Overhaul killed when Twice saw him on the street. So the fact that Nighteye doesn't know overhaul was involved, but they were revived and Nighteye says that they "blacked out and felt pain but then woke up later", and that it seems like it's similar to the effects of Overhaul's quick, implies that his quirk isn't just making people explode, but can do more then that too

An easy way to remember the difference between One for All and All for One is to just look at the names
One for All - One quirk for All people (hero)
All for One - All quirks for One person (villain)

Yes let’s walk away from the abused child asking for help. That’s the most heroic thing to do.
Stain kinda has a point you know. What’s the word hero good for if it is just organised governmental parole, disregarding individuals.
    I’m sure this won’t have consequences :D

While it is horrible, they didn't have enough evidence to just grab her. If this were a real-world scenario Chisaki could have turned around and tried to say they kidnapped her. And it literally would have been a "he said, she said" scenario with who should be charged. The heroes would have lost and she would have been sent home with her family member, and they'd be right back to where they started, if not in a worse spot than they started at.
As disturbing as it is, there have actually been cases of kids kidnapping other kids and harming them, again, if this happened in the real world. Not common luckily, but it has happened sadly, I've read some horrible cases about it. They would have to launch an investigation and she would be returned anyway while the investigation happened until they had proof. If she was lucky they could maybe send her elsewhere while investigating but they don't typically rip children from their homes until they know what is actually happening there. Because if they prove nothing bad was happening, ripping them away from their home could traumatize them further.
I would have been Deku in this situation honestly and wanted to take her from the situation too but ultimately, gathering more information was the smarter decision because they also want to bring down the whole organization. That's also an added complication, that they are dealing with an entire criminal organization on top of it. They needed time to gather evidence, resources, and assistance. Rushing in would put all the years of work they've already done at risk.
Not to mention Deku and Mirio would have probably been killed confronting him then. Yes they are strong but they are students, Deku can't fully use his power yet. He and Mirio only have their Provisional License at that point, I'm pretty sure. If they interfered they would have either ruined the investigation, gotten their provisional licenses revoked, or, worst of all been killed. They would have absolutely lost in that scenario either way if they continued. Overhaul has already murdered quite a few villains in just the 1st few episodes of this season and he was only just introduced. If they were full-blown heroes they might have had better chances but since they aren't fully qualified the odds were not in their favor.
Say Deku tried to run away with her Mirio would have been murdered then Deku and she'd go right back with him. Or Overhaul would go after Deku then Mirio or even both at the same time. As depressing as it is, the only productive way to go about this was to let her go at that moment.

@@deadsetondreams1988 "The heroes would have lost and she would have been sent home with her family member, and they'd be right back to where they started, if not in a worse spot than they started at."
Assuming a real world scenario with a child wrapped in bandages from head to toe asking the police for help to protect her from her abusive "father" will ring a lot of alarm bells.
That the bandages are because "falls a lot while playing around" isn't something that police and child protective services usually just buy, it would be the start of a long drawn out process looking into it.
In the real world scenario it would also be checked whether or not Chisaki is actually who he claims to be in relation to Eri and they would look under the bandages and see her scars (or in a real world scenario without super healing actual bruises and wounds) that are clearly not just from falling and would instantly give weight to her accusations and give a foundation to claim imminent danger to separate them.
Also you really think Overhaul can beat Mirio in a straight 1v1 much less a 1v2?

@@D1i1s1Though in a 1v1 fight Overhaul had no chance of winning against Mirio, Mirio wouldn't dare to start a fight in a place where civilians might get involved. Even if Mirio decided to take Eri like Deku does, he couldn't risk a fight knowing there's a lot of possible casualties.

As someone who went through abuse like Eri, don't get mad at Izuku and Lamillion for holding off saving her. While it is appreciated, if they took her right then and beat up Chisaki, all the court would see is two maniac heros who kidnapped a girl and beat up her dad. Not even the bandages would convince them because the legal system is always on the parents side, no matter what they say. DHS used to come to my house, WATCH THE ABUSE HAPPEN FIRSTHAND, and then walk out saying "Oh the mother is just stressed. Parenthood is hard. Poor mommy."
Honestly, I'm just happy these guys bothered saving Eri at all!

WARNING MINOR HINTING SPOILERS FOR S6:
I just noticed that Izuku's favorite food is a pork cutlet bowl. In S6 All Might makes Izuku pork cutlets for his lunches, which is so sweet! He knows his favorite food and makes it for him! And he wraps them up in bunny handkerchiefs to match Izuku's costume! It's so stinkin cute and sweet! But that also makes the lunchbox scene SO MUCH MORE PAINFUL!! I actually felt physical pain seeing that scene, it was so sad

I think there were no legal issues, as the two really had a reason to fight him due to the state or Eri. At this point, it was more that at least Lemillion understood that if they had fought, both of them, and probably a lot more people, would have died. (Also, we don't know how many of his squad were close by, knowing Overhaul, probably enough)

@@Agent-57 I don't agree. Spoilers for anyone not wanting to learn further:
The situation in which Mirio was stronger than Overhaul was very specific. Mirio had studied the targets quirk (which was not mention to the student's yet), they had a battle plan as well as were mentally and physically prepared for a battle, while completely surprising Overhaul. They had the majority of his minions caught up in other fights so that they couldn't suprise Mirio, meaning it was mostly a one-on-one fight in an area where Eri was the only one to defend, in contrast to a big street with many civilians that might be used as targets to distract Mirio. In essence, the fight later in the show was a perfect setup for Mirio, while the unplanned, uncoordinated fight in a public place would put Mirio in a major disadvantage.

    • @Agent-57
      @Agent-57 Рік тому +2

@@Mysterios1989 Not really. The reason Mirio lost was Overhaul's goons.
If Overhaul brings in support then so will the heroes. And it would be much easier to support Mirio here than a moving underground tunnel in the control of the enemies with traps.
Most of the Overhaul minions are Fodder to Deku so it's not even a threat. They can easily hold of Overhaul until reinforcement arrives.

If Deku and All Might did asked Nighteye to look for All Might's future again, it would be very inconsiderate. Considering Nighteye might've hated looking for their fates now because of trauma (seeing their deaths). Looking for All Might's and then having the possibility to see his death again is too cruel even for Nighteye.

I dislike Night Eye's quirk, because it's so undefined and inconsistent. We're given clear rules about how it works, and then it's used in ways that directly contradict that. Also, it should be a quirk that's super strong vs one enemy, but has a weakness against multiple.
