This episode showcases a big part of Shigaraki's development as a character. Back at the beginning of the series, he would've immediately tried to destroy whatever annoyed him. Especially if it was disrespectful. But here, he's calm for a while even after Overhaul disrespects him, isn't even the first person to jump into the mix, and is studying his opponent while preventing the rest of his team from attacking and unlike back at the beginning of the series, actually cares about those in the League. He understands that Twice and Toga are upset but Compress needs immediate help and fighting will only cause more of his people to get hurt. He's learning as a villain that sometimes waiting before striking is key. And that's what makes Shigaraki compelling. A villain who learns and grows is terrifying.

Love how both the Protagonist and the Main Antagonist go through their own growth. Very unique compared to 90% of anime having a End final boss warming his seat.
90% of anime, book series, webcomics, and so much more. Having the villains have character growth mirroring the MC is remarkably unique across media.
Kabuto is also like that though, you can also count Sasuke too.
Fun fact: Bubble Girl's design and quirk et cetera actually came from the winner of a hero design contest for fans! And Horikoshi made her a character of the series. In the person's original design she was 16 and a U.A Student but in the manga it was changed and her age was raised to 21 and she was one of Nighteye's sidekicks instead

Those "beaks" are call plague maskes. Plague Doctors use to wear them to protect themselves during the Black Plague during the Tudor era. Though these days there more for gothic fancy dress.

Something that always bothered me about this episode: He narrows the potential candidates down to what he says are the six people from class 1A who made it the farthest in the Sports Festival. That's Deku, Bakugo, Iida, Tokoyami, Todoroki, and Kirishima. The problem is... he forgot Mina! She was eliminated in the same round as Deku and Kirishima! As a massive Mina fan, I cannot abide by this grave injustice 😤
