Glad you liked the content. I struggled myself trying to install the trigger with their videos but found it not useful hence I made my own. I also have their other Hyve products installed on my gun too so do check out my other videos if you want to see them.
Thanks for the video! I plan on getting the Hyve trigger but other installs looked hard but your install makes it seem less intimidating. I think I’ll give it a try now :) Update: I bought the trigger and installed it following this video and it was pretty easy. I use an old nylon guitar string instead of fishing wire and it worked perfectly 😁
Huge fan of Hyve's mag extensions. I installed this Hyve trigger, and was completely disappointed. The stock trigger was better, not WAY better, but this Hyve was SUPPOSED to be an improvement? Nope. Worst part is, you have to buy what you filed to go back to stock. Good video, hope nobody uses this info.
Can’t agree with you any better on this. Other than aesthetics, I wouldn’t get it. And you hit a good point, once you do it and file down, you can’t go back which is a bummer. Function wise, I can’t tell much difference at all but unless you want to get down and scientific with numbers then there might be a difference. So would I recommend this product? Yes and no. Yes to make your piece look unique and cool and No for “improved” functionality.
I wonder if there is a tool that would be similar to those hole starter punch tools that would make it easy to punch the pins but obviously with a tip that wouldn't damage the pin. I think something like that would make it so much easier to get a pin started and you wouldn't have to worry about a punch slipping off and scratching the frame.
Thanks for this yang boss! I just got mine FDE tan and red safety. I’ll be using this as my guide.. you mentioned in a previous comment its not worth it… but isnt the trigger action almost completely different and resets smoothly without that bumpy gritty feel
Glad you liked the content. The reason why I said it wasn’t worth it was before I installed it, I never really paid much attention to the trigger pull of the original trigger before I installed the Hyve. I always hear people say how bad the trigger was but it never bothered me much and the reason why I went with Hyve was because it looked sick and my gun would match (black and red). I wish what I was able to do was focus on a before after video to show the real difference only then I would know the true benefit of the Hyve trigger. But still, I love it and it looks nice and shoots well too.
@@CouGHeePiLot some random red nail polish from Target. Hey bro. Great video. I have the same shield. I just installed the trigger. But I notice the safety is not working properly. When i put the safety up and press the trigger the safety goes back down. Not sure if i didnt shave enough or shave too much. Any tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks again
From what I was reading online from what others experienced, if you don’t file down enough 0.55 inches for mins a 5:30, you can possibly have issues with the safety not engaging correctly. So I would backtrack and refile down again and put it back together then it should work. Haven’t had an issue with mines yet since I installed it and made this video.
I just went to Target and picked out a red color I liked. I don't think it matters much, just let it settle before wiping it off the excess with nail polish remover.
I used to live in South Pasadena but moved out to he Central Valley. I’m no expert either but if you follow this video, you should be able to do it. Just make sure to file the part down since we have the CA version.

Tbh after this mod and taking it to the range, I didn’t notice much. Besides aesthetics, it shoots a little better as in you don’t have to pull the trigger down so hard. Still loving the gun with or without the trigger mod that’s Forsure. If you want the different colors for looks then go for it, but other than that, ain’t worth it (my honest opinion).
Red nail polish. I just bought the brightest red color I could get at Target along with some nail polish remover. Apply the nail polish to the engraved areas, let it dry (I recommend 24 hours) then come back and using a Q tip, lightly clean off the excess using the nail polish remover.
Thanks man! Most of them are straight from Hyve Technologies. NDZ and Talon grip as well. I have the links for the parts in each video description, this one has most of the links if you're interested. ua-cam.com/video/hwaWsFepMdk/v-deo.html

If you don’t file it down your safety might not engage/work once you put the gun all back together. Better to trim off a bit to ensure the safety will work once the install is complete.
04:25 just close your eyes and listen. If your to lazy to do so the explanation is here: the models with a safe mechanism needs to be filed down so it can still maintain and work with the new trigger. If you do not file it down, it might not work properly.

Only have to file if you have the thumb safety (CA Model like mines) if not, then this step can be skipped. It must be filed so that the thumb safety can function because it is longer after the additions and will not engage if not filed down.

Why not show a post trigger job vid at the range to prove it works? And not to nitpick, but wtf is up with the fishing line? Align it with your hole punch?! Never, ever seen anything as silly as fishing line...
