Are you kidding. How do you leave Cheap Trick's Tom Petersson off this list. His iconic 12 string bass rig and sound is truly revolutionary in the 70's when he came up with the idea
Holy crap, 10 years of Rig Rundowns? I’m honestly really impressed, those were what got me into the channel and have been loving each one y’all have done so here’s to another 10+ years
Verdine took bass lessons with the mighty Ron Carter ! Incredible.
I know that premier guitar is mainly guitar driven but thanks for showing the bass community a little love!!!
I Enjoy rig rundowns and would love to see more bass oriented things...
Thanks for giving bass players some love, guys! The Rig Rundown videos are always awesome!!
chillin' in Sunday morning in this come up.. thnks a lot guys!!!
I agree with Sheehan and Squire's basses as being the most iconic since the had one particular bass that they played and became synonymous with. But other icons i would have listed would have been Geddy Lee's J Bass, Lemmy's Ricky, and Jacos bass of doom to name some more iconic than most of these.
This collection of instruments are strictly culled from the 500 Rig Rundowns during the last 12 years, but yes, those you mentioned are certainly iconic.
2:53 couldn't agree more, Verdine White is a huge influence on my playing, I learn how to play the bass listening to EWF, and I'm guitarist.
Thank you.
Awesome vid !
Doug wimbish was in Sugar Hill Gang?
Damn that’s old school
Yes premier guitar !! Bass Rundowns !!!!! 🤘
Absolutely!
Perry! I've never seen your hair so tall, or your desk so wobbly! sweet vid!
I play a Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Stingray four string. It was Tim Commerford and John Deacon from Queen that prompted me to choose that. Killer tone. First active bass though. Still unsure if I like them.
Very nice
Please, PLEASE do Richard Thompson soon!! One of his elctric and/ or acoustic rig would be great!!
Doug Wimblish is a treasure!
Perry Bean rig rundown let’s go!
my favorites in this one were...
Earth Wind and Fire (Verdine White)
The Breeders (Josephine Wiggs)
Duran Duran (John Taylor)
Judas Priest (Ian Hill)
Mr Big (Billy Sheehan) both the classic and modern ones were good to be honest
Dinosaur Junior (Lou Barlow)
Living Color (Doug Wimbish) like with the rig rundown of Billy, both the classic and modern rig rundowns were good tbh
Yes (Chris Squire) Rest In Peace man!
Rage Against The Machine (Tim Commerford)
Verdine-Cool
Most Iconic Basses with no P bass ???
Hope you’re Resting in Peace Chris!
Very cool how Roger Waters is Flea’s bass tech
way cool
Is that normal that during Flea's segment i hear A Perfect Circle's Passive in background ?
Doug Wimbish is so cool
Wait... you cut the Chic bass out of the Duran Duran rundown in a list of iconic basses?! 🤦♂️
Wimbish is hilarious.
Verdine 'absolutely' White
Apparently everyone came to Tim Commerford and said 'Hey....'
What was that music in the background? I would like to hear more of it.
Not a bad rundown, but when speaking of truly iconic basses, how do you not feature Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick? The guy plays a friggin 12 string bass!!!!!! 👍
Perry, You're getting the "Thumb's up" just for the Black Flag shirt before I even started watching. :)
Sadowski basses must be the sh-t!
This video has no audio when played through a chrome cast device (tried 4 diff devices)
I only wish for a john deacon rig rundown.
Ask Rinus Gerritsen (Golden Earring) of his Basses😀
How the hell do you have this list and NOT include Steve harris' bass. Iron maiden is after all the second most influential Metal band ever (after Black Sabbath). I mean i can see not having geezer butler on the list because he did not consistantly use just one "iconic" bass. But Steve harris' bass was iconic both in the 80's when he had it painted royal blue (it was originally white , and then painted black right before doing their first album) , and when he had it repainted in the early 90's to what it is now, ( white with, his soccer team's logo with faux binding in their colors)
Haven’t seen a Hofner?
wig rundown
P bass if mainstream. Rickenbacker 4001 if niche.
This interviewer obviously doesn’t know Ron Carter
If you had to (or COULD) pick one of these basses?
I’ll take a Musicman Stingray HH
No Bootsy Collins star base?! Blasphemy! (plus Les Claypoole's customs, Phil Lesh's quad output bass that could play each string through a different channel, etc... Many famous basses not mentioned.)
None of those have rug rundowns yet
@@ileutur6863 Oooooh...rain-BOWS! I missed that part of the concept.
Nobody told that man that maybe his hair....
jaco strap
Rig rundown should include the pedals too right? Wtf
Justin Chancellor?
the problem with a Tool Rig Rundown is the fact Adam is very secretive about his gear, dunno about Justin
This collection of instruments are strictly culled from the 500 Rig Rundowns during the last 12 years, but yes, Justin is certainly iconic.
Flea. LMAO
Well, I confess that was a bit disappointing. No sounds, and no interesting basses other than Squire's and Sheehan's. Was hoping for something more uncommon and standout, like Hofners, Steinbergers, Hollowbody Kays, Marleauxs, Alembics, Pedullas...
Bass player jokes.
Rig rundowns? I only heard about bass guitar setups, what a bout the actual bass rig, you know, amps speakers, maybe pedals....that stuff. Maybe next time.
Read the title of the video again. "Most Iconic BASSES". If you want to see the rest of the rigs just search each bassist's complete rig rundown.
@@SombraPiloto ok, but also says "Rig Rundowns". Anyhow, it's not the end of the world. Not yet anyway...
Bass players are so boring 😂
