This band make me feel proud to be Swedish
This band makes a finn jealous of swedes.
Well shit im from norway
@@jussieronen3707 I mean you guys do have Beherit and Impaled Nazarene
You Gotta Be! one hell of a (heaven really) country.
U should just be proud to be Swedish in general lol
"But what's sad about this is that several generations of Bathory fans are now used to the remastered CD sounds and not the original mixes"
The same can soon be said for Megadeth's back catalog up to 1999 :/
wore my bathrory shirt to school, now everyone thinks im a satanist
awesome
Welcome to metal
Which Artwork did it have On it? The First album Artwork?
Sure
Fuck them, wear that shirt for Quorthon's memory
Blood! Fire! DEAAAAATHHH!! Damn that was a great scream😂🤘🏻
Hey! We have the same profile picture
Financially screwed? Blame the system and BATHORY!!!!!
My dad came into my room because he heard me listening to angel of death but he seen my saved albums on spotify and he was mad I was listening to "devil music" (Bathory and Nekrogoblikon)
@Rafael B. bro nekrogoblikon is fire
0:20 dat voicecrack tho
The Return will always be my personal favorite black metal album of all time. The album is drenched in atmosphere and the song "Born for Burning" is one of Bathory's best tunes.
Bands like Bathory, Entombed, At the Gates and Grave make me proud to be from Sweden! Also, I can't be the only one who paused at the end and had a light chuckle at the Grease soundtrack being in the list
Vadå tvungna? Det är fans som skapar sig själv.
if you want more pride check out some ingmar bergman films
Can't forget Unleashed
Candlemass
Meshuggah
Wow... just watching the most awesome Bathory review ever, and then I noticed you have 666 subscribers! Brutal man \m/
That "blood fire death" scream was fuckin insane dude
Was that a marshmellow you just ate?
That is correct
Brutal
i had no idea the vinyl versions were better...im sure the analog sound is much fuller than cd
Batlord! My favorite band!
Ratlord!
You're an awesome reviewer....the best imo
This guy knows his stuff and what a personality!
Your passion about metal puts a smile on my face! You rock dude!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Hail fucking Bathory!!! Greatest review ever 💞😏
Be sure to watch part 2, 1991-2003!
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! I already did haha
BATHORY !!!
damn you were great as fuck, can you do more reviews on bathory?
Why thank you! Maybe some day. Probably won't be a vinyl review though, given that most Black Mark presses after '91-ish aren't the greatest in the world, plus now they're mostly sourced from CD.. Tell ya what, I've been in the mood for Nordland lately.
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! That was the greatest bathory albums review and conclusions ever, I'd never watched any bathory reviews that better, you explained the whole thing that was going on with bathory back in the day, and you were right, I had just finished listening to the original bathory's "bathory" 1984 album vinyl (what a coincidence), before watching your review, and I realize how better and different It is from the cd version, I was looking for the return of darkness and evil vinyl version and I found this video and I though "whoah! a bathory review I'm going to watch this instead!" good job man and keep up with the good work!
Gracias! It was needed because there are lots of vinyl rip videos and videos about the newer represses but none on the originals. It's a shame because for years me and my friends who are my age have been used to the god-awful remixed versions. Treated myself to these originals last Christmas and walked on a cloud since then >:D someone told me a few months ago "reviewing 30 year old albums? Don't you think there are enough reviews of them?" and while he DID have a point, the point of the video was to have all the originals together and explain the differences.
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! that's what I always wanted to fucking see! I always an explanation of the difference of the albums and how bathory had changed Its style through generations, thanks very much to you keep \m/ METAL \m/
Same here, please!
Im calling from the grave and I approve this review \m/
Love your videos man
+Winds of Mayhem
You have the same profile picture as me dude we're the...
BATHORY BROTHERS!!!
(insert insane guitar riff here)
Love the squeaky squeals in between your reviews. The reviews are entertaining too. Nice one.
5:03 he looks insane, I'm concerned...
Good God! You're the most metal reviewer of all fucking time! Review is good as fuck and brutal as fuck!!
The way you scream "DEATH" at 5:10 is the greatest fucking thing ever! So fucking powerful it can impregnate over a thousand witches and make the Salem Witch Trials into a fucking Orgasmbath!!
I loaded this and got my wake up call this morning. Hail to sounds of BATHORY!!! Okay, it's more Hail to the intensity of Killbot&GorGorAttack!!! and your winning enthusiasm for all things METAL. Love the bit about playing records backward. You do not shirk on the equipment, that's for sure. Caught the fun reference to "Under The Pink" which was a great curve-ball. Oh and yes, when a track listing is out of order it's irksome. It was wild to think over the content of vinyl being repressed of a compact disc version and that messing with the music itself. No surprise there and I'm glad you catch this stuff. You make these both informative and fun. Never a dull moment, eh. ^_^
How is the back on black edition of Bathory's first album? I found a copy for a reasonable price and I was wondering if it's safe to get
I didn't know BOB made a Bathory repress. But if it exists, I'd still strongly recommend an original copy. Back on Black will use the best sounding source given to them, but that would mean that Black Mark would give them a CD, as BM wouldn't use a source tape theirselves. They could fuck up a cup of coffee...
Look for ANY vinyl release of any Bathory album prior to 1991. For the first one, the Combat, Black Mark, and Banzai editions sound similar (mids boosted on the Combat version) with slightly different intro lengths. As for the post-Hammerheart stuff, see my other Bathory video to what you can look for.
What are your thoughts on Twilight of the Gods and Blood on Ice? Bit bummed they werent included
there's a vid for post hammerheart albums
Damn, did you pay alot for these 80s pressings?
Eyewatering amounts
Bathory is still unique and will always be. Thanks for this amazing tribute. Horns Up!
5:10 was actually a really really good scream
Great reviews dude
That opening is damn amazing, I do that to Necromancy like every day
Bathory!!!
Got a Bathory shirt then I cut the sleeves off
Great video, and nice collection
What about the vinyl releases from 2010? Are they sourced from OG tapes or the remasters?
Great review man on a Classic legendary band 🤘
Bathory rules, very good reveiew
So... Black Mark has reissued Blood Fire Death in 2010 (or 2014? I see both dates). How is the mix on this repress?
First time I heard bathory I was drawn into it because if it's evil and unkown way of it. No pictures, no live shows, and sound that sounds like it was recorded in the darkest depts of hell. U earned a sub!
bathory will forever be my favorite blackmetal band
Do original 1st press CDs have the same sound as the 1st press vinyls? Or they are remastered?
Proud to be a Headbangers ball growing up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
my favorite band along with dissection!
Dude, I wish you posted a link to buy these. It would be amazing to own :')
At 2:50 you can see portrait of an American family by Marilyn Manson
uuuh where
nvm found it
What’s the song playing in the background in the start
Wow, killbot has a great scream. DEAAAAAAATHHHHH!
"One guy who is posing to be so Evil and Dark, but really is a wimp is the incredibly stupid Quorthon of Bathory. Now he's totally wimped out as you can hear on his later releases especially the latest shit piece."
- Pelle "Dead" Ohlin
good video and also thats a good joker impression especially the laugh
I bought vinyl editions of the first album and 'Under the Sign of...'. Shortly after, I see this video and make some web research on the EQ issues and overall 'bad quality' of the remaster...
I really feel like crap now. Both of my albums are remasters. I should not have spent my money in such impulsive ways *sigh* I could've bought other records with that money :(
I’m on the hunt for The first two Bathory albums on cassette.
Might be a stupid question but were you actually cutting yourself or was it like paint or fake blood?
I want to order a Bathory album, but I want to know the sound difference between the cd and vinyl. (Under the sign of the black mark) CD is like €14 and vinyl €23. Looking at price, which one is better to take?
CD if you're buying a new vinyl, simply because the vinyl is taken from the CD... now, a 1980s pressing would sound better than both, but would cost much more. For that I'd look on Discogs or Ebay.
Thx for the information. I'll check Discogs/Ebay aswell :)
I have Etched the bathory logo (not just plain letters, the proper full bathory logo) into my guitars pickguard with a screwdriver.
Fucking Hail Bathory forever
I totally agree with you when you said the thing about Born for Burning, I feel the same.
Incredibly later , haha its 1988 BFD .
Under the sign is 1986 .
2 years .
But between you had original Requiem really extreme .
And Blood on ice also between BFD and Hammerheart
I guess Quorthon between 1985 and 1989 was like Prince making album in 1987 .
1 vault album , Sign of the times the black album .....
Slip ups?
For Whom the Bell Tolls' "Fuck":
Am I a *FOCKING* joke to you?
Recently i got into Bathory so i listened to their Albums Bathory, The Return…., Under the Sign of the Black Mark, Blood Fire Death, HammerHeart next I’ll have to listen to Twilight of the Gods. I really Love Bathory The Return…… and I love Born for Burning which is a Good Bathory Song. 🤘🏻🤘🏻❤️
Born for burning!!
I remember ordering and collecting the first Bathory album in 1984 and being blown away. I was a Venom and Slayer fan and had 'Apocalypic Raids' by Hellhammer, but this was so fast and evil.
This is beautiful T.T
You do really good Joker and Harley impressions
Welp the original Mixes are now available on Streaming Services
THANKS A LOT ! :D
0:20 The true ginger voice.
No gingers here.
how did you get hold of the Under One Flag pressings?
Discogs!
Awsome vid bro. Do you realize your voice on almost every time you star a sentence is squeaky high.
Actually trying to decide which bathory albums to buy first. Need to get them in my collection
Under The Sign of the Black Mark, Blood Fire Death, Hammerheart, debut, The Return, Nordland I & II.
@@theloner6063 thanks
me personally bathory's perfect remastered the return under the sign of the black mark their Viking metal albums and their two thrash metal albums
5:06 ngl that was actually sick af
What's the song called in the beginning? "Me on a typical day..."
Necromancy
Your bathory t-shirt is sick!
You're funny dude , you got a new subscriber.
You should play the Joker hahaha, great review and it was funny when you screamed Blood Fire Death.
How do the "Under One Flag" pressings compare to the "Black Mark Productions" pressings?
If they're cheaper than go for them. The Combat pressings are good too. The only real differences are the intro lengths between versions on the first album.
Ah, right! That's good to know as there is a big price difference.
That death by amp crushing is fucking hilarious
Where did you get these from?
The sound depends on the quality of the stereo system. New Renaissance, Under One Flag, Black Mark Label..... it all starts with the cartridge
I agree, people romanticize vinyl, but they forget the sound system is what makes the sound. Regardless, Bathory vinyl past '91 just suck. People who have multiple copies of each album will all say the originals blow the reissues out of the water.
Bathory is Awesome I grew up to his Muzic. My favorite is The Return. And Under the Sign of the Black Mark.Blood, Fire Death is great. The Cover on the Return album is a Actual photo. They just made it bigger for the Album. They took the picture on their way to the studio when Quorthon was making the album. I like all of Bathory albums
1:36-2:31 what's the name of the song?
Whats the song at 0:00? It sounds like Necromancy but the drums are different
It is Necromansy! Just recorded with an iPad microphone and nothing special. Haha!
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! LOL thanks. It sounds completely weird in a good way.
I have under the sign of the black mark, and I fucking love it.
Jajajajajajajaja. That's was a incredibly ass-smasher review! You're very good at it and I agree with everything you said. Please, keep doing this.
I like your inclusion of Tori Amos little earthquakes. However I'm not sure if that's part of the sarcasm of putting grease soundtrack in as well
So how did quorthon die? Im so curious
Pre-existing heart complications
How do you clean your vinyls?
Usually I do the soap-and-water scrub method with a cotton cloth. I even do that with brand new vinyl just as they come out of the package. Sometimes records will have wax residue from the factory so if you clean that off then it'll have less pops. Been wanting a VPI machine forever though.
Nothing wrong with Tori mate. She's insanely talanted. She can be extremely dark too.
Love everything she does up to 2000, after she got married and had kids she ran out of things to say... she's great live too!
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack yea true. Love Native Invader tho, even if she has gone all political 😀
Damn I want all of these
great man! just great, born for burning is the best BM song from sweden ever!
the words greatest Bathory enforcer ? im sold.
Under The Sign Of The Black Mark is fucking incredible. Such an intense album! Defo my fav of black metal, next to In The Nightside Eclipse.
PS. Woman Of Dark Desires is CRUSHING
0:06 song name?
Raise the dead
Before you were a gleam in your daddy's eye I was listening to this and Under the Sign of The Black Mark back in my young teen days......
RAISE THE DEAD
Oh you lucky bastard BATHORY VINYL GOLD
My 80s Bathory debut had at the end of the record a 666 and a pentagram etched into it, not sure if all the albums had this.
That fucking scream of DEAAAAAAAAAAAAATH was amazingly evil
Hammerheart is best. The lyrics, the powerful riffs and the ambience fills you with adrenaline e somehow pride.
