Always enjoy your warts n all build videos Jamie... I have a hatred of scribing but your approach of taking it slow and steady was a good reminder that's it's not something to rush. As a user of deluxe perfect putty, I think that epoxy putty is something else I may need to try. Thanks for your excellent video.
I'm not sure I can take another one! I think he doe=s have some good points but then does go on a bit, and some stuff is easily fixed or takes just a little bit of thought and experience.
I take my hat off to you, I would have binned it after the fuselage halves went together and everything started going pear shaped. 😆 But your perseverance saved the day. 👍🏻
I might rethink building this one. I started the kit but put it back. Desire to build “in-flight”….a challenge on top of a challenge. Great work and perseverance with this build. Bravo.
Wow! Reminds of my Hasegawa P-3 build which is on hold for a few months. So much sanding, filling, scribing and such like here. Well done, that is looking far better than it should.
Fantastic solutions to a poorly engineered kit, Jamie! Nothing like leaving a bit of your DNA behind in one of your builds. Thanks for making this kit and producing such a great result!
The Extra Dark Sea Grey in the air intakes and fan shroud was only for Operation Corporate Harriers with the EDSG scheme. Normally the exterior colour of the aircraft extended 11 inches into the intakes and from there it was white.
I couldn't find any clear photos, most have the red FOD covers in place. I went with some written information I came across. Too late now if they were white deep inside.
@@thescalemodellingcafeyep, you should have left them white for a jet of this time period. Hate it when this happens, but sometimes you can get stuck down the rabbit hole when you just need to push on
Truly blood sweat and tears - Wonderful job though. True craftsmanship. I am going to watch Peter’s new rant. Definitely need Airfix to come through on this now!
Thanks mate, I'm not sure I can take another Shar rant by Peter, what has he not said already! I like him but I do think he's gone over the top at times with this one, some of the things he brought up really are very easily fixed and the instructions whilst having errors and not as good as others are ok if a little frustrating at times.
@@thescalemodellingcafe Indeed - I will watch for the sake of objectivity but if it heads south then I'll stop. BTW is the signing of commissioned kits with blood a new authentication method?😇
I'm really surprised there isn't a harrier shaped hole in wall given the dramas with this, what's the old saying about silk purse out of a sows ear. looks brilliant so far.
Hi Jamie Which Mr. Hobby epoxy putty did you use on this? Super lightweight type, High Density type, or some other version? Great job with this difficult kit!
If you cut the thin section to the rear of the cockpit and then fill it back in it all fits together a lot better. This is obviously not very helpful now
I'm calling it. No Harriers until Airfix get on the problem
A good strategy

Thanks mate, its great stuff!
Peter Oxley isn't quite finished with it yet....he has an upcoming "rant" video about it......another one,lol

Epic indeed! Excellent work...... 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Thanks mate
Well, despite flaws and mistakes, I think you did the kit some justice.
Thanks mate
Phew! That was a monumental effort.
Fact!

I had a good motivational tool, the charity

Thanks for sharing those techniques Jamie - You've done a magnificent job, a true battle on your hands there!
Thanks mate

@@bruce4890 They were certainly EDSG on the visible portions. Maybe they were white deep inside but from photos it's impossible to see.
Ah, yes. It's a rite of passage that kit.
I'm so glad it's over!
I need a lie down after watching that😂
I haven't got back up yet!

What a Hard work Jamie! That's kinetic engineering 100%... I think New kinetic gold's kit has not the same problems...
I've heard they are better
You're doing an epic job Jamie, bravo!
By the looks of it, when you're finished, there'll be more filler than styrene in this kit! 😳😲😆😂
Thanks mate, it was a slog for sure!
Yeh.. I think you did quite well there
Thanks mate

Thank you!

It fits now, just painful!

Yer I think I'm going to give the kinetic harrier a miss.
I hear the GR and T are better
More filler than killer? How to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear? Nice job but not one I'll be tackling in what's left of this lifetime 🤣
Thanks mate
The first Kinetic kits are very bad.
But the later ones are better
