I feel like Apple gets the hype it does because of the branding. Kind of like when you're in high school and everyone wants Yeezys. It's not the best shoe in terms of comfort and durability but everyone likes it because it's popular. So to me, Apple is well liked because it's popular. Not because it's the best kind of smartphone. At one point it might have been the best, which is probably why it gained popularity in the first place, but technology has come far and Apple hasn't kept up. They have some cool bells and whistles which makes it more appealing to the public but when it comes to overall usability and durability over a long period of time, Samsung holds up better. Apple is for a more simplistic individual. A selfie taker who uses their smartphone sparingly to do undemanding tasks. A Samsung, and Android phones in general, are the opposite. I usually compare Apple and Samsung the same way I compare Apple to Windows. Apple may look cleaner but you won't be able to do everything you want to like you can on Windows. If Koreans use Samsung, awesome. If they don't, that's fine too. I, personally, would stick with Samsung.

I work for a cell phone company in the US, iPhones are a huge pain in the ass to troubleshoot, and seem generally designed to cost you more money for equipment and service charges... I'll take an Android phone any day

I like to use this metaphor: if Apple were a car manufacturer, it would manufacture the best & safest cars in the world, BUT:

Samsung all day every day. They're more affordable, give similar options, are more compatible with other devices and are less exclusive when it comes to apps, such as Apple with e.g. iTunes.

Apple used to be the golden standard for smart phones and for other companies to follow.

I've dropped my Samsung so many times, it's only got one crack after all that abuse. Plus the camera is soo much better.

Here's what I observed: Apple is using IOS, so in terms of sharing files for example bluetooth it is only accessible to other apple products while Samsung is using Andriod so its easy to share files to other android phones not solely in samsung products.

I work at technology company in the US. The majority of our customer complaints come from Apple users because their platform is not friendly to external applications or services.

I've been curious about this topic in regards to Korean users sinceKorea is Samsung's home. Personally Apple is decent product but I like my Samsung much better. I've heard more people say that the camera is better on Samsung than Apple, so it's interesting to hear the girl say the opposite. I think it took apple a long time to finally put a decent camera on their phone. Also, it's interesting to hear Koreans say that they can't access many apps on iPhone when I personally feel most apps that are created, are made with iOs users in mind, but I think that's because it's a difference in countries. Here in the US most apps are released for iOs devices first and some months later for android devices. Here in the US those with iPhones have the advantage when it comes to accessing most apps. However my biggest problems with iPhones (personal taste I guess) is that the iphone doesn't have a back button when you're using UA-cam so it's like going through a maze to go back a certain video you watched, IF you don't have a YT account and can't look it up in your history and you can't personalize your ringtones, or apparently there is a way to do it, but it is quite difficult regardless. I like apple for their computers (though I'm an HP user not macbook) and for their iPods/iTouches but that's pretty much it.

The Samsung products in Vietnam are so good. But, many Apple products in Vietnam are like the fakes, unacceptable :0

I was an Apple user for a long time before I switched to the Note 5. The Note 5 lasted about two years and I switched back to iPhone. To be honest, I think my Samsung was better. I wish I just upgraded instead of switching back to Apple.

My first smartphone was Galaxy S4, I really loved it so I got the Galaxy S6 Edge 2 years ago and I recently got the S7 Edge (because I really wanted the blue coral and I love its design) The battery lasts up to 3 whole days with one charge, never had that with my previous phones, it's amazing. So I will definitely keep getting Samsung in the future, I hope to get a Note as my next one but for now I would like to use my S7 Edge for a long long time.
