I ate a red flesh dragonfruit by mistake today. I bought one thinking it was the usual white variety but just a bit smaller and more wrinkly, like it was gonna go bad soon. Turns out it was deep red when i cut in, much to my surprise. It tastes very different, a bit sweeter, and almost a floral taste, its very hard to describe, its extremely unique, it was a new taste to my mouth for sure.
Wow... that looked delicious, just the color was tempting. Great description of the taste and sweetness, I can really begin to imagine it, though the best way will always to try it myself. But since I can't, you are the next best thing. That was a great view of your tattoo, I really love that, it looks fantastic, and so appropriate. Thanks for another great vid, take care 😁😁😁🦘🦘🦘

Oceanside Dragonfruit in Oceanside California mails cuttings of many varieties of dragon fruit. They have Robles Red 100% - i got one few weeks ago.

Is this type one that develops greyish branches, and grows super vigorously with tons of aerial roots, but doesn't necessarily make that many fruits? I think one of my species may be that one because it produces fruits exactly the same shape and color as that. This is a type which is easy to grow from a small cutting to making fruits the next year.
You might have a variety called Tricia by the way you're describing it.

I have seeds saved from last year. How long can they stay alive and germinate?
I’ve germinated seeds after 1 year of saving them without having a problem. Some will die off but most of them will still sprout.

Any history available from Robles red or is just another renamed Taiwanese purple, aka Ruby red, Royal red etc. Looks very similar.
This was my first time hearing and seeing this variety. I was lucky to be able to take it home from the Pitahaya festival to do a review for the community.
@@GraftingDragonFruit It is my understanding that a breeder in Chula Vista made this hybrid. I got mine from Oceanside DF in Fallbrook.
