Biggie was writing lyrics for Junior Mafia and Lil Kim, so technically those debuts are his albums. Why do you think Little Caese was rapping off beat all the time on his solo album and features after 97?
Definitely not the same, but nice try. Technically” it’s not because Biggie rapped from a perspective of a female and a younger dude. When Jay Z wrote Dr. Dre’s “Next Episode” it was from a perspective of a legendary west coast figure.
I think it’s important to point out that Biggie second album was a double album so that means a bit more. You also have to consider his cameos on joints like Craig Mack’s Flavor in your ear, Junior Mafia, Total, etc. Pac or Biggie is interchangeable for me when it comes to GOAT status.
Pac was the actor, in the whole Biggie vs Pac issue. He carried the matter/ the attention on his shoulder at that time. And if Nas had died at that time, it would have been between Pac and Nas today, not Biggie. Ice Cube is a GOAT why not compare him to Tupac too? Everybody wanna trend with Pac because he commands media/public attention, that attention role in Biggie.
Biggie is up there with the best of them. Of course the fact he only has 2 albums and died young goes in his favour in terms of being the GOAT, as nobody got a chance to see a decline or bad album… Same with Pac…. Such a shame we never got to see more from both guys!
That even more impressive for a man who barely reached his peak and died way too young and still be in the goat conversation speaks volumes to how great he really

My feeling about BIGs two albums was a damming indictment of the social situation in disenfranchised areas. Just by describing the situation. Combined with interviews that when asked serious questions ,as opposed to 'showbiz' stuff, he would give very good, serious answers that further contextualise the album songs. Had he lived I believe thus would have been more obvious. For sure, BIG took every opportunity to big up Black ,oppressed people. I certainly believe that BIG, and 2pac for that matter, were making a concerted effort to court Black people from tough places and had they had the opportunity to strengthen that further they would have gone on to make efforts to direct people in a more constructive direction. Clearly 2pack was more obvious political however I believe BIG was of the same mind on that issue.
2 albums or 20 albums don't matter if we talking skill set, impact, record sales, popularity, swag or any other metric big is 1 of the goats. cause he raps better than 90% of the rap game

MC Lyte & Queen Latifah did it themselves. People forget about Ebony Eyez. Da Brat did it herself, but JD gets that credit. We respect JD is a producer more than a rapper, but he can rap. That’s not to slight him. That’s just to say Da Brat, in my opinion, made her own mark after being featured off Da Bomb record Kris Kross did. I feel like JD really made himself known as a rapper at the same time Da Brat blew up. And Missy? I don’t. Know. Timbaland and Magoo all feel like a group to me. Not just Missy, though Missy shines on her own. Missy is a beast. Nicki is a beast. I just wish Nicki would stop getting mad at every other female. She’s running out of females to beef with.
Nah special edz explanation doesnt do his own perspective justice. Before BIG died he was already considered. He tryna say because the way puff marketed BIG post mortum. Doesnt make any sense. That only implies that he wasnt tuned in to the whole vibe.

Its not about the amount of project, its the quality of the music, the impact, cadence, flows and style that changed the game and gave birth to a whole new era of rap. A style in fact that Jay-z was able to follow on and take that spot and become who he is today. For that he is the goat.

Hendrix did 3 albums and he's been Black Jesus since.
