My daughter lived in England for quite a few years. One day we were on the phone and all of a sudden she said I have to go and hung up! About three minutes later she called me and said, sorry mom I haven’t seen the sun in two weeks and it just came out so I had to run outside 😂😂😂 I completely understand your pain!
Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Kirkwall and its always nice to see the perspective from those visiting the island. Love your energy and enthusiasm on your journey.
I'm a rainy day girl so that grey hazy weather brings me so much joy. It also means no sun burns. I'm probably one of the few cruisers that hope it's raining in Port. Graveyards are amazing. You are having my definition of a glorious day.
When I go on UA-cam on Sunday evenings to watch a few of my favorites I literally always pick your video to watch first. I adore both of you so much and love to see all of your awesome traveling adventures ❤❤
You two are so much fun to watch. So positive and down to earth. I Love following you throughout your journeys. Thank you for taking me along. Love your boots Elisa ❤ Also, your hair getting longer looks lovely on you.
Really interesting, thank you! We will be visiting Kirkwall as one of the ports on our cruise to Iceland next August, so I will save the link for future reference 😊
Ahh, I just love seeing people visit my home country - welcome to Scotland! Sorry we didn't provide you with the sunshine, but glad you had what looked like a great day!
Great to see a video where I'm not shouting "Buy a coat!" at the screen. Next time you go to Kirkwall make sure you go to the Orkney Museum in the middle of the town... you'd have loved it
That Kirkyard reminds me of one I visited in Charleston, SC on a Ghost tour. The energy and atmosphere of historical places like that are fascinating to me.
It's funny watching this and seeing my partners family's house in the video. As well as many secrets you missed that I wish I could go back in time and show you
We did a ten day round trip by minivan last summer (with Rabbies tours) from Edinburgh to Orkney, Outer Hebredees and Inner Hebredees! Highly recommended! There are several sites on Orkney that are listed as a UNESCO world heritage site e.g. Skara Brae.
The oldest headstones in Kirkwall are actually built into St Magnus cathedral's inner walls. I had a chance to see that and the tomb of St. Magnus when I was there. If you had the chance I would suggest an excursion to the Knap of Howar, the oldest dwelling in the UK. Dated to around 3700BC
What did you think of the haggis and black pudding 😂. We live in England but have tried haggis which we both like but only Paul has a taste for black pudding !!! Great video, new subscriber 😀
Old cemeteries are so cool I love them but did you know that these old gravestones can fall down. They can be dangerous if it falls on a child. It’s a thing I have heard. So scary. Scotland is beautiful even in the rain. Hoping you got some good weather on this trip.
Sorry that you didn’t get to see what would have been really interesting, but you should definitely check out the song “In a country church yard” by the Scottish singer Chris de Burgh. That describes almost exactly what you got to see… .
It is really not unusual to see buildings from the 1600s in the UK. I grew up in a house in the UK built in the early 1800s, and worked in a pub built in the 1600s. Still had the gate out back they used to bring horses in. British people think 100 miles is a long way, Americans think 100 years is a long time!
Really enjoyed your vlogs I’m been following you since you did your Mexico vlogs a couple of years ago just a pity the weather wasn’t the best hopefully when you both come back it’ll be warm & sunny(but don’t bet on it) lol . I listened to the part when you talked about the name of a church in Scotland you will find only the Presbyterians would refer to a Church as a Kirk the rest of the Christian denominations in Scotland like Roman Catholic , Episcopal , Methodist etc would only refer to it as a church and a churchyard and never a Kirk or Kirkyard although the word Episcopalian derives from the word Kirk because of it’s history with the aristocracy in Scotland the word now used by them now is church probably because the word Kirk is seen as an old fashioned & outdated name 👍🏻
While I like your positivity, I am not seeing a compelling reason to select a cruise that includes Scotland compared to other European locations, or Caribbean, or pretty much anywhere else. ;) Also, you won't see haggis in the USA because it's illegal here.
Well, because they booked last minute, as they mentioned, they didn't have a chance for the tours. If you are particularly interested in ancient history or archaeology the Orkney's are amazing to tour. I was there so long ago now that the tour company I used, run by a married couple, is no longer in operation but I'm sure there are a handful of others.

The positivity… The “making the most out of any situation” is what keeps me coming back to your channel. Great video. Loving the Euro-series. 😊

That is my favorite type of weather

Love that you venture out and explore on your own. Oh how I love me some spa time....heaven on earth!

Nice video as always 😍👍

Love the castle and the pubs in Edinburgh
Great footage guys - looks a wonderful place.
Love all of your videos!!!
So cool to c scotland. You will have to return to explore and show us more
You did exactly the same thing we did last year. Making lemonade!
Great video ❤❤❤❤
There were public buses to all the sites.

Haste ye back ✌️❤️🏴.

Iam looking forward for visiting kirkwall. It will only take one day because of a cruise holiday
Thanks for the video, everything looks amazing! What is the cruise you took? cheers
Would you recommend walking around or was there a full tour we should try? I love old cemeteries 😀

I heard of good reports on Rabbies Tours, Let the professionals do the driving, enjoy the views & hospitality.
Scotland looks very cool and pretty and its looks like old buildings in Scotland
If you liked the Kirk yard you have to go to Glasgow .

Just have to go back😂

You may notice that the Gravestones face to the east. This is for the resurrection of Christ.
Beautiful. Really nice video. Thanks and take care.
sorry it was a bit wet but hope you enjoyed Scotland but come in summer it still a bit wet 😂❤
The worn writing on the grave stones always said, " It rained again today" Tat-ta.

I was wondering why y’all never show food on the ships anymore😊

Love you guys! So did you book this cruise because it was so much cheaper in October? Seems like Scotland is for summer.
6:33 Chicken & Leak? 😄 oof
As an Orcadian I wish you spotted the gravestone that had the date of the 30th of February 😂
Still loving Elisa's coat! You need to do that as a partnership! For us Big chested girls who need a good coat!!

Oh you not visiting the Isle of man or Stoneybridge.
Pictures of the sun peaking out are known as Scottish porn
Oh I love this!!
It looks like people there live near to hell

Shame, because Scotland is mind blowingly beautiful
