      I also thought that was a valid point and something I really hadn’t considered. I’m on my 5th Glock. Buying a new gun, light, optic at this point isn’t even exciting haha it’s going to say Glock, surefire, and trijicon. Maybe it will say stream light or holosun instead…. Thankfully I’m motivated enough to train by my relatively poor opinion of my own performance LOL

    The ending thoughts ring true, certainly. When people have asked for recommendations on what their first handgun should be, I've recommended that, as long as the price is acceptable and the gun itself isn't a lemon, they should just get a gun that they think is really cool. Training is paramount for handguns, and you don't want to be in the situation where you've got a gun that you're not really jazzed about, and you've got the time to take it out and practice, but you're not really feeling it, and so you don't. Your first gun aught to be something you think is so cool, you'll contrive time to take it out. Starting out with pistols sucks. It feels like hitting your head against a wall repeatedly. Every motivator, to push through the rough early days into handgun competence, is an absolute blessing.

    Got a DPD F series for my girl, its perfect fitting for her smaller hands, the slide had a great grip so easy to rack it.
    Cons
    More impulse when shooting it,
    Less aftermarket parts. Specially for us in the euro zone.. funny huh but thats related to the complexity of U.S export.
    My biggest concern is the ability of maintenance. PDP is pretty complex in way of a full strip

I ran it with 14rds loaded for ipsc cause I didn't trust it before I bought the +3 baseplate. Now it's fine. Also bought new recoil springs that I'm going to fiddle around with. It's a snappy one but I do like it and prefer the grip angle over the glock.

    Have a m&p 1.0 i bought in 2011. Never had any problems with it, outside of the trigger. But that was after about 6,000 rounds. Idk if it was worn parts or not. Put a apex trigger in it, no problems since. Prob has 2k on that trigger. Ive since added 4 m&p 2.0. 1 of which is the early 2.0 has the old hinge trigger. The new blade 2.0 trigger is quite nice.
    M&P>>canik tp9/sfx>>>>>glock. Price no factor? M&P, price a factor? Canik. Is it 28 days later? At least 1 glock, since they are everywhere.
    Went to the range and tried them all side by side. Was a pretty clear difference. Mostly recoil impulse. Trigger was noticeable, but isnt the do or die people make it out to be. (not race guns)

      Personally, my F and multiple C’s have been 100%. Until I put an HBI -15% spring in then it doesn’t set off CCI500’s or Rem 5 1/2 reliably. Sticking with Federal 100 or WSP primers.

    • @HWG-wm8ld

      Definitely better out of the box. You can get an optics ready CZ for less than a standard blue label Glock.

  • @HunterMikeWI
    @HunterMikeWI 29 днів тому +3

    A better comparison would be a P10C/F vs Glock 19/17/34. PDP has great ergos and a good trigger but return after recoil is terrible. Snappy is the word everybody uses and I agree. But part of that issue is that it doesn’t return to the target as fast as a CZ/Glock. My split times are measurably longer with the PDP. Do a back to back Bill drill and you’ll feel it.

    • @ChristopherGoydich-cb6bd
      @ChristopherGoydich-cb6bd 29 днів тому +3

      He has and on video. His times are close enough to be within margin of error. He did say it was slightly more difficult to track the dot but that the slide would track back to the target quickly enough that it didn’t slow him down even if it felt more slow in his mind while shooting.

PDP is pretty complex in way of a full strip.
    Glock is soo munch relaxed
