So happy to see you enjoying the start of your Norway cruise. I hope your weather holds. We did ours in June six years ago. We had high winds, rain and even snow, but it is still one of my favorites. Can't wait to see more.
@@flydriveexplore My sister in law and husband has done the Fjords twice now but not on the Iona. Amazing scenery. I'm still torn as I don't really fancy a huge ship. Like a bit more intimate to be honest. Still might head towards Portugal again for next August.
when we went to Stavanger there was a Strret Art Festival and we took loads of pics of them, enjoy :) also as ships are not allowed to cruise into Geiranger we took a ferry trip there and passed the seven sisters waterfall
Ah, I did work in th' oil patch and occasionally stopped off in Stavanger and Bergen. Strangely quiet place to go out drinking after 2 weeks on't rig (Norwegian rigs and platforms are 5*, but). I asked a Norwegian friend if that was just my impression. He said: 'No, we're very boring people. Everything we like to do is heavily taxed.' 😅 Don't suppose, you ate ashore. Reindeer and lingonberry is pretty good.
Your videos are so good. Very natural, and really make me chuckle with your dry sense of humour. We go on P&O ventura in November, so hope to create something amusing too for UA-cam. The ones I did from Azura last year are rubbish, mainly due to a terrible action camera. What type of camera did you use? Thank you.
Thanks and have a good trip. I use a few different cameras, my iPhone for places where I don't want to stand out, I used this on our embarkation video. For this one video, I used a GoPro10 which is very steady but very glitchy. And for the recent Vikings one, I used a Canon R7 (which is my 'fancy' camera). What is more important is a microphone with a windshield to stop the wind noise. You should be able to get a decent mic for under £50
Missed out on the oil museum, that was a good couple of hours. If you wanted a bit of typical Norwegian fare "Brown Cheese" (Brunost), it is a bit of love it or hate it, I love it. Just don't expect is to be very cheesy
Apparently, they know what to expect when they move there and that people will be taking pictures of their houses etc. I think they may object if we start having picnics in their gardens.
Im norwegian :Strange. It is not more expensive to go out to drink coffee in Stavanger or other cities in Norway - £2.5-3.5 than in the UK. It is actually more expensive in the big cities in the UK. The same applies to baked goods. Isn't it a bit strange to travel around Europe and check prices - if you're going on holiday - then that must be the last thing I research. Holidays should be wonderful and without worries. Have a nice trip.
I don't know about Norway but in the UK and especially at the moment, money and prices are a major concern even when on holiday. Personally, we are still lucky to be able to afford a holiday unlike many others this year. By the way, we did enjoy visiting Norway.

Really enjoyed this video guys. You captured the essence of Stavanger beautifully!
Thank you, we really enjoyed this cruise, it was only our second. By the way, we are regular viewers and a subscriber of your channel 👍
@@flydriveexplore Thank you! We'll be going to Stavanger this summer, and really looking forward to it!
"that bizarre odour - oh here comes Mel" 😂that timing lol
Glad you are enjoying your trip.
Thanks, we did enjoy 👍
We love Norway, you'll enjoy Olden I'm sure.
Thanks, the weather there was a bit cloudy, that visit is out on Sunday.
Well done guys, we were on the same cruise great weather and loved Stavanger
We really enjoyed the cruise.

We're back now, we did have one day of rain but the rest were dry and even sunny.
Useful vids - thank you 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Stavanger looks such a lovely place. Hope you visited Flam.
Best wishes to you both.
Yes, we did visit Flam

That's beautiful 😍
It is 👍

We definitely want to go back and spend more time in Norway.

We've been to Iceland a few times and its similar, drinks are so expensive. We only had sweet snacks and coffee when we were in the town, no Rudolph.
We went in June on IONA fab weather in high 20's second time to Norway for us
It is a beautiful although the weather wasn't so good for us.
@@flydriveexplore I hope it improves, the captain said in the 7 years he has been cruising to Norway he has not seen weather this warm

We were thinking of the museum but as the weather was better than expected we stayed outside.
Love the humour. Too bad you didn't get the fish-flavoured choc.
Cheers 👍, we did enjoy the place, the weather helped.
Feel sorry for the people living there with a huge cruise ship towering over them.
