My name is Oksana Zabuzhko, I’m Ukrainian writer from Kyiv but I’m currently in Warsaw, Poland, where I have arrived on a preplanned promo trip to promote my newly published book right a day before Russia started a war against my country. So since 6 days by now having been trapped here in Poland, I’m trying to work for my country giving the interviews to Polish press and to the media of other European countries, trying to explain what is going on and what is the meaning of this war for entire civilization.

I can’t say that I’ve been transformed with this week as a person because what happened didn’t catch me unexpectedly. Since 2014 Ukraine has been at this war which first has been hybrid so to speak, but now has revealed a true face of Russian totalitarianism and yes, it did transform my country as I feel nowadays this amazing unity in which my country is fighting the evil empire.
