    I saw the Outsiders sing this in Terre Haute with the Caravan of Stars tour. The Association was there also. I thought Sonny was so cute! I was in Jr. High.

      Was that Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars winter bus tour? The Yardbirds were on that tour in late 1966 when guitarist Jeff Beck got so upset with the conditions that he returned to England, leaving Jimmy Page as a solo guitarist when I saw them at Lima, Ohio's Springbrook Gardens Teen Club on Dec. 4, 1966 (you can Google the show poster).

    Once I was hanging out at the Top of the Hill Tavern in Portland, Oregon sipping beers and bar talking with some dude. At some point I told him I grew up in Ohio near Cleveland. This dude rolls up his sleeve and tattooed on his forearm was a old low budget scrub tat of The Buzzard cartoon character from WMMS. I immediately recognized it. Proving without a doubt that I am from Cleveland. I also listened to WGCL as a kid with Uncle Vic. The end of an era when being a radio DJ meant something. Anyway, Cleveland Rocks!!! The heart of Rock’n’Roll. Also, the Michael Stanley Band will rise again. MSB! MSB! MSB!

    This brings back so many memories. Loved this song. I remember when my sis got to meet Sonny Geraci at some band thing at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. It wasn’t a concert. I don’t remember the event, but it went on for a few days. Bands just walking around. I had been to it the day before and saw local bands walking around, talking to fans. But I didn’t see anyone as big as Sonny. I was jealous.

    @luviananna --Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed is widely credited with promoting the new genre (and the term) of "rock and roll". Cleveland was the location of the first rock and roll concert. Civic leaders in Cleveland pledged $65 million in public money to fund the Hall Of Fame. A petition drive was signed by 600,000 fans favoring Cleveland over Memphis, and a USA Today poll which Cleveland won by 100,000 votes. The hall of fame board voted to build the museum in Cleveland. Hi Mike, thanks for the upload, you know this was a huge hit in 1966 ( I was 21 ) on Long Island NY, I think every Club band covered "What kind of girl is this" ? Being 20 something guys, we inserted our own sometimes x rated adjectives instead of the correct lyrics. I remember going through all 4 gears in my '64 Chevy Impala SS Convert, 327-350hp with this song on the AM car radio, good days !

    • @patsomers187
      @patsomers187 7 років тому +1

      LMHS63 l was 11 in 1966. The music of the 60s was my only comfort during that time in my childhood. I loved this song. When this song played, I fantasized that I ran a 1964 Ford Galaxy XL with a 390 with dual quads through all four gears(I was a big fan of the blue oval when I was young) like you actually did with your 1964 Chevy Impala. By the way, that 64 Ford Galaxy XL that I "had" would've blown the doors off of your Chevy Impala (ha ha). Seriously, that was a nice car that you had. I wish that I came of age in the early to mid 60s. When I was 21 in 1976, I had a 76 Ford F 100 pick up truck with a 6 hole & 3 on the tree. I couldn't stomach the cars of the mid 70s, low compression engines that didn't have the power to get out of their own way & the hideous boxy styles. That's why I bought a pickup truck, & the 300 CID six hole was grossly under powered! The cars of the mid 70s couldn't hold a candle to your 64 Chevy Impala! Plus the disco music sucked!
