      Why was it credited as The Outsiders if it was cut before formation of group?
      My understanding was Merdsen,
      Geraci and King were on the recording. Is that accurate?

      @@KMK7355 Yes, Tom, Mert and Sonny when they were between the Starfires and Outsiders. Our managers wife suggested the name when we were all together one day, and that was it.

    Always loved this song. I remember coming home from school and watching Where the Action is. How time flies when you’re having fun. It’s 2024 and still appreciate hearing these songs from my youth❣🙏❤💎

    5-25-2023 @Gato Salvaje 60s WOW! Exceptionally excellent piece of 60s rock history.
    The tv show, Fender Jag, EKO violin bass, the clothing, etc.
    Time has flown by, I was 13 in '66 just about to start playing in a local "garage" band with the neighborhood "musician" friends, in 1967, in Encino CA.
    DAD 1st got me a classic red GUILD Starfire, but I was elected to play bass.
    Sold the GUILD and replaced it with an EKO "violin" bass, SAME model as in this clip.

    Mert Madsen on bass. He'll be 81 April 9th. I was 10 when this hit the radio... KLIV San Jose, Calif. Am 65 now and still get chills listening to this!

      @Busta Speeker It's amazing that us elders recall how old we were when every song came out.. on AM radio. And thankfully we had American Bandstand to see all the greats "live" as kids. Wonderful that you were inspired by the bass riff here. I love reading people's comments concerning their "history". Thank you for sharing!

      @Busta Speeker My lands!! Guitar my instrument too! Mom got me one, I was 12. 1st 2 songs I learned to play was Little Red Riding Hood and Gloria. Have a harmonica also, can only play old western songs and On Top of Old Smoky. Can't play like Little Walter and Howling Wolf yet, but am still trying. Lol
      You can dance, each their own style and ways. Keep on strumming 🤗🙌

      @E.A.D.G Groove And KFRC. So you remember "Norm" the surfer on KLIV window stickers, dj Gary Seiger, going to the station on Story Rd, getting albums won on contests? Ah, the days of SAN Jose when it was still mainly orchards and vineyards, cruising and racing on 1st street. Thanks for sharing

      Hi Cyndi I was 10 also its so hard to believe it was that long ago we grew up in the best of times for sure 60s and 70s music was unbeatable!!I was at a car show after years ago and Dennis Tufano l3ad singer for the Buckinghamshire put on a benefit shoe for Sonny when he got sick and his son and daughter were on stage playing guitar his daughter Bri played the tamberine and helped backupt they played Time Won't Let Me it was a good time but very sad that Sonny passed away. Give me a time machine get me out of here (LOL)¡¡¡¡¡¡

    Jerry Tiffe is the stand out vocal for the chorus parts and the ending. Jerry and Sonny were friends at that time and Sonny was kind enough to ask my brother to sing the background vocals.

    I liked the 'Dad' back there keeping a protective eye on his daughter. Not understanding the music but being there for his daughter. It's a Dad thing.

    See the chick staring out the window at him? lol lip sync if i ever have seen it. He was a good live performer though. Great vocalist and great all around showman. He certainly fit the bill. so sad his life was cut short.

      @@sethtenrec Actually, those two squares were hearing the music. This clip is from Where The Action Is. Even though the group was lip-syncing , the recorded music was actually playing for the filming of the episode.

      The trumpet player on the record was Tommy Baker from Cleveland. He did all the horn arrangements​.

      @@never2old4redeye Tommy did all the horn arrangements for the session. All the horn parts were added after they had the song recorded They just add the parts later. I always wondered what happened to Tommy.

      @@daliborsnajdr6871 Recorded September 1965 and then depending on where you lived you would be able to hear it on the radio first and then it would have been available in your local record stores ....
      it becomes a "hit" in Feburary 1966 = Billboard .....

      There has always been music in our Gerace/Geraci family. My grandmother Sherry sang on war ships in ww2 and performed at the White House many many years ago her and Sonny were close for a long time. Last time I seen Sonny in person was when he gave his respects at my grandmother funeral quite some years ago.
