- The 2022 Polestar 2 Dual Motor's time is up on this channel.
In this video, I drive to the Polestar Boston dealer where I hand in my keys and return my car. Why? What caused me to get rid of the Polestar 2, and do I recommend you get one?
Watch to find out!
Well. I own a PS2 dual motor and have home charging. I totally disagree with you. It is your fault that you don't wine to charge at home. Don't put down the car for that. Tesla is a crappy car. I don't want to own one just because it has a good charging network. I love everything about my PS2
Satchi I’m happy for you that you have the ability to charge at home. That isn’t the case for a lot of Americans. As a result we rely on the external charging network.
While I can see the argument of it being potentially unfair to judge this car based on the network, it is a sad reality that folks interested in this car need to understand. My goal for the channel is to give potential buyers an understanding of the car (good and bad) before making their purchase. As I noted in the video I wouldn’t fault anyone for buying one, but I can’t recommend it.
Telsa shocks are horrible. Polestar drives like a bmw
1. 80% of ev owners charge at home according to most sources
2. Tesla charging is coming soon for these vehicles
Tesla or not, if you can't charge at home an EV just doesn't make sense
I don’t necessarily agree there. Many charging locations for Teslas are at places a person would frequent.
Shopping malls
Grocery stores
Department stores
Making incorporating a weekly 20-40 minute charge stop quite simple. And with the base Tesla range being closer to 300, that suffices average American
@@MoneyShift the cost there is much higher than charging at home though. You're removing what is for many people, a big reason to get an EV (lower running costs)
@@ewhite1546 ...and the incredible convenience of not ever going to a gas station (or even a public charging station). What is that time worth?
Too bad Tesla has a monopoly like state in America on charging. In Europe they have opened their chargers to other car brands, most likely because they knew legislation was underway to force this anyway. Most people i know with an EV charges at home during night when the power is cheaper anyway. Weird about that part with charging stations, i tried a Polestar 2 last weekend that was able to see if chargers was available and functioning just fine. Having said that i find the Polestar 2 really have some lackluster basic configuration, i would never recommend not picking the Plus and Pilot packages. Im trying do decide between the Polestar 2, Ioniq 5 and EV6, although it seems that the Polestar is the only EV thats available in my country right now, i talked with Hyundai and KIA and they wont take any orders right now. I really like that there is a lot better EV's on the market now, the Tesla interior and exterior looks was not doing it for me, bland as hell.
can we fact check the steering wheel size? comparing with other cars?
Stop the hand waving.
I’m Greek, it’s just how we live
I didn't notice how excessive it was until you said something 😆
1/3 of the video he's discussing content of his channel then another 1/2 he's crying about charging network in US and at the end he decides to cry about the price. What a legit car review...
No where in this video, title or description, did I say this was my review. I have another whole video dedicated to that.
I literally titled it “I’m returning my Polestar 2”
@@MoneyShift in this case.. who cares? The reasons you have pointed out could be researched before the purchase. If you want to post the content that's actually valuable to the audience, then expose things that are hidden from potential buyers. Otherwise, you're wasting people's time. I have recently returned a toilet paper, because it was too rough for my butt. I didn't make video about it, because who cares.
@@chopperpl it’s your prerogative to decide as a creator what type of content you want to post to your channel. In this case, I wanted to post this.
On your channel, you can make whatever decision you like. I’m sure folks would want to hear your toilet paper opinion.
costs way too much to insure
Beautiful Car I am in Boston and I think I am going to take a Test Drive . My Model 3 has 80,000 miles on it. Might be able to getr a good trade in.
You do know dc charging all the time will degrade your battery and also Tesla chargers are getting crowded so expect wait in line. Alot of Tesla owners are buying ccs adapters to use evgo and electrify America
I do, but ultimately without home charging and the car being a lease, it wasn’t that much of a worry
I have a PS 2 with the Plus and Pilot package. I wiuld have to agree tho. For the price, it can certainly be better as far as range and space. Good thing I am not 6 ft tall, and so is my family. However tho, build quality and overall driving experience, this takes the cake over its Tesla counterpart (Model3). Also, i have an adapter that allows me to charge at a Tesla Destination charger (level 2) found in most places like malls and hotels. The only thing i cannot use is their supercharger network which is better compared to EA and others. But I hear Musk will open it to everyone soon. 😊
Moment Musk opens the Supercharger network, my recommendation changes! Totally agree!
Well he did it
@@Jaraizer looking at other EVs as we speak
Thanks for mentioning the charging issue
Didn’t Tesla say they were opening up their Tesla chargers to all EVs? When is that occurring because once that happens, there’s no issue about having enough superchargers.
Tesla is currently doing this in some European countries.
That said, Tesla has claimed they would open up the chargers for the last two year….so who knows how long it will take
So if I’m skinnier than you, own my own garage, and got a good price on it, then I’m full go (not full stop)? All your complaints moot?
Size has nothing to do with it.
If you;
1. Have access to home charging
2. Opt for any of the packages, not buying a PURE base model
The Polestar 2 is worth consideration vs the Model 3. If you do not have home charging, or are looking for a PURE base model, the Model 3 is a better car.
Bad title, this is mostly about non-Tesla cars in the US, and choosing the cheapest possible trim. There’s a reason why people pay for better options.
A base model car that costs 50,000 should have more features than this.
A base civic has radar cruise…
I mean, a better title for the video would be "why i'm returning my non tesla electric car." i guarantee you'll get more hits and your points will be valid for all EVs that aren't tesla. you're welcome.
Branding retard ZOMBIES.
How exactly does the ioniq 5 and EV6 have an advantage ?
Range, price, features, and charging speed.
He's actually incorrect. I looked at the EV-6 and based on " chip" shortage it was more expensive!!!
@@Joeri0720 depends on geo, look in the northeast…they are going for good rates
@@MoneyShift Polestar didn't try to rob me right off besides the Polestar 2 has more star power 😂😂 and I like it. Charge mostly on the way home and at home sometimes. No issues there.
@@Joeri0720 fair play there!
How do u feel now that u can use tesla dock ? Lol to charge your ps2 ?
Great! Looking at acquiring a Polestar 3 or BMW iX
Huzzah! Looking forward to the next vehicle, haven’t watched since you switched from the Maverick.
Rumor has it….car has a similar badge 🤗
@@MoneyShift Aww, that’s too bad.
@@ErelasInglor I meant that it’s a Ford! 🤗
@@MoneyShift Oh thought you meant Polestar company 😆
Nice clear points👍
Would you recommend it for a “car guy/girl” with at home charging? It seems like the design and driving dynamics would be a step up from the South Korean counterparts and fit more of a Bmw 3 series type driver looking for something interesting that’s electric.
I would, I live in the UK and I love my P2. Traded in my AMG for it lol x Oh, should add I have a charger at home.l
