Vapourwave really brought the entire concept of aesthetics into the collective consciousness of the Internet. Thanks to this it is a lot easier today to find image dumps and blogs of just about any aesthetic style or genre you can think of.

You opened my eyes to this. Vaporwave introduced a whole new form of art and personal expression and ultimately led to more styles musically and apperial wise. Hell it's one of my favorite designs to this day.
You’re right! The kinds of styles I’m into now feel like they have nothing to do with vapor wave (old photos from 2005 on flickr and like stuff from drain) but I feel like all of it ties back to vapor wave
You only are saying this because you likely didn’t think of aesthetics before vaporwave brought it to peoples attention. Aesthetic was a common term used in the meme, and you probably didn’t even know about the word before it became widely used. This is personal projection in your regard.
Fun fact! In the original version of this map the spawn points themselves were tilted slightly, which caused all players to spawn at a slight angle. This made it look like the map would tilt in different directions depending on the direction you were facing. This was actually an accident and caused a lot of people motion sickness, so the spawns were quickly fixed for future versions. If you can track down a copy of the original, it’s quite a wild effect to experience!
I think he did find the original version, considering that everything there is tilted.
@@kurtka8720 The tilted spawn would make the players tilted, and thus the ground on the friendly side of the map would seem level. Because you can see the ground is tilted, we can surmise that this must be the newer version where both teams spawn upright.
Vaporwave aesthetic does feel so fitting for Source engine games

Umm…. Saint Pepsi? ESPRIT?? Luxury Elite??? Vector Graphics???? You’re missing quite a few staples, there. Hell, I’d argue that Saint Pepsi, ESPRIT, and Luxury Elite on their own are like the Holy Trinity of the genre.
I like how the editing stands out in this video, compared to the rest, gives a fresh look to the weird maps series!

I like how whomoblie elected not to play the game in 480p and square resolution but instead to play in 16:9 1080p and reduced the screen size and added some filters in post instead. True to the vapourwave style I guess.
Videos on weird maps fill me with equally weird ideas, like how I wouldn't mind a Team Fortress Classic Item Origins video.
Macintosh Plus is an alias of the artist Vektroid, one of the defining artists of Vaporwave.
Inb4 Valve adds this map in the next Smissmas update and keeps it in the map rotation afterwards.

I remember rocket jumping on this map was one-sided from the tilt, it was disorientating of course, but you could get some really far market gardens on here

I kid you not, I once hosted this map in a server (where I was the admin) with 20+ players. During and after the 30 min gameplay, many of the players (including myself) had reported physical illness/dizziness due to the tilted orientation. I had to change the map in the middle. This map looks good, but terrible for actual gameplay. (It also happened when I tried other tilted map like tilted 2fort.)
i've heard that on the original versions of the map, the actual spawnpoints were tilted, causing the view to be permanently tilted too. that might have contributed

love to see some more source maps because those are the ones i am most nostalgic for particularly minigames my favorite was lego copter which had a amazing soundtrack i still have on my playlist to this day that map could be its own stand alone game. and i remeber another crazy map mg_tank_base_v4 i think was the name it even had a day and night cycle and really cool military vehicles there where a couple versions atleast
