That shaft of light at the end was where the rope went through and was tied to the bait. When the bear pulled on the bait the door was triggered to close. Very nice find. Stay well and safe.

I work for the PA game commission. Pennsylvania is so lucky to have all the state land. Look around at other states. They don't. Millions of acres. . God bless 😊😊
