Every railway has derailment issues, it will never end until railways are gone. Just like highways and car accidents. When I was at IC we derailed every 2 or 3 days, when I was at the RailNet about daily....it's not just track, we are importing Chinese steel. Anything built by national railcar from 2001 and above we inspected very hard.
@@ShawnCalay Sarcasm? I know the margins are tight and if it derails in BFE and hurts nothing then fine but that is often not the case. BTW all the execs still make many millions per year which no doubt you already know even though semis trucks apparently rule the road.

Great video for the CCET. My dad use to mow for the county highway dept here back in the 60s-70s. He must have had two dozen of those glass insulators that he brought home over the years..
Really good video of the -7 moving the front half of the train. The CCE is fortunate to have it up and running. Hoping the tie work gets this problem solved. Keep CCE nation informed.
Great to see the old GE back in action again! Hate to hear about the derailment. Great footage! Glad they are replacing ties and doing maintenance on the line, so many short lines can't keep up the maintenance and have bad track. Thanks for sharing Jawtooth!👍
Fun use for those glass insulators. If you have a chain link fence, you can pop the metal caps off the posts and those fit perfect. It looks pretty cool.
I’ll tell you what JT I don’t even see how a train stays on that track because every time you shoot a video of the track in the ties it looks like all the ties are rotten and up there where they were changing those ties it looked like they was changing every 10th tie to me, but anyway that railroad needs to do some serious work on that track. If I was that engineer I’d be scared even run down that thing but as always, my friend another awesome video and you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one.
Loved the video. So glad the derail didn't injure anyone. Thought they were getting rid of the truck. Very informative video. Also Loki was really having a ball chasing that ball. He has quite the attention span. Took a few days to watch this as I finally got home from rehab with still useless foot. You and the Missus have a nice weekend.
Good morning JT, another fab intersting video on one of my favourite parts of Ohio for watching the CCET. Williamsburg Hill. So pretty & very old style railroad with the old signals & telegraph poles with the glass insulators. The derailment is next to one of my favourite crossings too Tranquility Pike, what a name! Great footage of the derailment JT. Yes i could see the broken rail. Loki is a bundle if energy & a great soccer player too. Baby in the shade he's not daft. 😊❤🐕🦮🐎👍
Very informative on the derailment. Sad when you see one go off the rail. . Loki sure can chase that ball. Love your fur babies. Good seeing "Baby" again. Thanks again for an awesome video Mr JT.❤😊
Pretty darn good JT!! I enjoy your narrative on the derailments and history of places. You make it come alive and mean something. Explaining the rolled rail helped me understand what I was seeing there. That will all have to be replaced, right?? When you clicked on to 4K that picture was really sharp. BUTT, I could FEEL the memory being eaten up at that time. I have bigger and bigger chips for my cameras due to greater requirements. I hold back the resolution to save space. When I first saw your horse, there was only one end visible outside the tree. I thought there was a politician there. Great video JT. Thanks for all the work you put into bringing these excellent works to us. We DO appreciate you work. 🤠
The rock cars are what haul the ballast and also make the railroad money. Eliminating them isn’t an option. Unfortunately derailments are part of railroading
The track structure and environment have a great effect on the "life of the tie" often more than loading. Wet/dry cycles, heat and cold, infestation, and track integrity ( maintenance or lack thereof) are as much or more responsible for expected life of tie service.
Love that CCET live action JT. Not so great that they have had another derailment. Great footage with the "JT all areas access" to the accident site. Amazing how the rail just buckles with all that weight on it.
❤ love those videos please keep up the good work and also please be safe looks like maintenance away is got their work cut out for them a job well done double thumbs up😊
That’s a very interesting video JT. The film clip showing the rail struck a chord with me as I was born in April 1956 and it is still earning its corn while I have been retired these last eight years!
A lot of times when the rail lays over and the wheels run over the anchors and breaks them off it'll chip the rail and it has to be replaced . Great video .
Thanks for today's video, JT. Seeing the derailment site was very interesting! I've never seen rail rolled over like that before. I didn't know that would happen. Alĺ I've ever seen was bent up, torn up rails. I loved seeing your pets, too. It was a treat seeing Baby again, also. Please tell your family and pets I said hi, and please be careful out there. Not everyone is a good driver, and trains do derail. You wouldn't want to get caught by one of them! I hope tomorrow is a fabulous day for you! We'll chat again soon, I hope! 😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️

And the Norfolk southern tracks are welded rail and if there was a derailment I might have to get my dog and vacate the area . I'm still looking for the rail poundage . This rail has plastic tags on it . Stay tuned on that . Enjoy the day J.T.
Even though the 4K segment was neutered by the final video being rendered in 1080, the 4K part still showed a lot more detail than the parts shot in 1080, to my eye. For whatever reason, the rivets on trains really stand out when you record them in 4K. Great video regardless. Yours is my favorite railfan channel.
I noticed the rivets, too. It's great video, and you did a fairly good job of keeping steady, Brian, but I still got a little seasick. 4k really requires a steadycam rig.
Hi Brian. This is Randy in Chattanooga. I hope you and your family are well. I’m doing ok. I gotta say, you’re doing a great job with your videos. Keep up the good work. God bless.🙏🙏🙏
The Cincinnati Eastern's B36-7 locomotive is on the job again moving these cars from the derailment scene. It looks like the Cincinnati Eastern line will be out of service for a while since it will take some time to fix the rails and get the heavy rock hoppers back on track. Thank you for showing us the close-up views of the rock hoppers off the rails, Jaw Tooth! (Posted 14 September 2024 at 1626 CDT.)
Ouch...seems like this is the third reported derailment on the CCE this year. The one from a few months back was not minor like the other two, but this is not a good sign. Thanks for your informative videos,JT. Perhaps it might be wise to step back a few paces while videoing the CCE. Cheers!
That used to be one thriving subdivision when NS was using it because I’ve got videos of it when NS was running on the Pevie line and they had a lot of trains that went through there
Looks like a track issue. Issues are all too common on commercial rails which is why the MoW crews are busy all the time. A small railroad like the CCET probably doesn't have the budget to have crews maintain the track to 100%. That is a challenging situation and I wish CCET the best. They are hard working folks :)
CET needs to have the rails tested by Sperry or another comparable service. The electronic testing will reveal any defects. Stone cars create a lot of stress on the rail along with climate change. The rail was installed some time ago so wear is inevitable. I enjoy your coverage of this short line operator. The animals are enjoyable. Take care and God bless you and the family.😎🐱🚂🚃🚃🚃✝
