Yes, because the hot air rises in the house, and really cannot escape. I put a 3/4 inch pvc 90, on each side of the upper roof. Toward the end of the season, it starts getting hot here, and the large fledglings need air. You can plug the vents, early in the season. I found it really helps, removing the plugs, once the night temp get into the low 70s.
