I have this exact mower and I love it. No gas, no oil. It works great for what I need. Small yard, stores easily. The battery works with all my other Ryobi products. Small enough to do my trimming as well. It's 25 pounds instead of the 85 of a traditional mower, and only puts out 55 decibels instead of 80 like a gas powered mower. Gets my yard done in 20 minutes.
My EGO 21" mower finally gave up after like 7 years. Has an electrical short going to the motor. Bypassed all safety switches when I 1st bought it. I abused it and it has cut countless amounts of hours. Left out in the rain and sun, Hosed the deck down weekly even though it's battery lol. Anyway I got a Cub Cadet 42" zero turn now with the V-TWIN motor. I still need a little mower for tight spots and some slopes and mounds. I found 1 of these Ryobi 13" mowers in good shape for $120 with battery and charger. I think it will fit the bill for what I need after watching your review. Much appreciated. Thanks!
This mower is amazing for doing around trees and other small jobs. It's also great for people that have townhouses with extremely small yards. Yes you could do really small yards with this string trimmer but you will not have the mulching effect that this more will give you. Thumbs up to ryobi.
I just used my ryobi 13" mower today, took a while and went through 4 batteries to mow my whole yard twice but it did what i need it to do. I have a trailer on a small plot so it did fine for my budget and yard size for the time being.
I have one of these. I do wish I’d bought the next size up- but honestly my yard looks beautiful when it’s done. I had to get a new battery after having it for one year- I got a new charger and it came with two batteries so this really helps!! It’s a small mower but it does a great job and gets around corners and I also need it for part of a ditch/yard area- and I’m happy with the job it does.
Its October 2023 and I just bought one of these as it fell in line with my Ryobi ONE grouping of tools I own. I did not want to deal with different batteries as I already have 4 batteries that fit all my Ryobi One's. I can say that it is ultra-light weight and easy to assemble and operate. You just need to know that its cutting/suction power is limited so if you are trying to cut tall, thick or wet grass, you will not have a good experience. I use this because I only have 600 feet of grass to cut, and you need to push it a bit slower and it may take a couple passes. But it is so light and painless that it really does not matter. I just recommend you cut your grass a little more often as this is just a big weed wacker. I say this mower is for smaller lawns you can cut often and really DO NOT want to deal with another kind of rechargeable battery! If you have several Ryobi ONE batteries now and a smaller yard, this is perfect even if it is a bit pricy for what you get. It only takes about 1/4 charge to cut 600 square feet and then I take the battery out and put it in my Ryobi ONE trimmer and finish the job. For me, it was about convenience. If you have a normal size lawn, this one is not for you.
I have had this mower for quite some time now. Purchased it just for trimming duties and it works fine for this purpose. One major gripe about it is the raise and lower mechanism. I would far prefer individual wheel raising and lowering. My rationale is that once you have to height set to where you want it, you will seldom, if ever, change it. The single lever mechanism adds a significant amount to the length preventing me from getting close to obstacles.
I have one of these, and it's fine for the house I have. it's in a neighborhood. sizable lot though. I can't cut anything when it's wet, and I would recommend an extra battery.
I have a small lightweight16 inch Ryobi 18v mower to use in those places that my 3 riding lawn mowers cannot mow. These small 18v mowers have their place along with a string trimmer and blower. I would not use a small mower like this to mow my 3 acres, but it's great for between the trees and up alongside a creek bank I have to mow. If you had a small lawn in town, and you were already in the Ryobi 18v line, then this may be an option to consider. I think most people would be better off upgrading to a 40v 21 inch mower for not much more money.
Could you give us a review of Makita smallest mower XML05, and compare the blade connector (metal plate?) With Ryobi 13” or 16” mower’s blade connector blade (plastic?)?
Everyone knows that gasoline mowers are better if you have anything serious to mow. With that said... I just set up a dog face that covers roughly a 20x20 foot area of my lawn. I will be buying this little thing to use inside of that fence. I already have a bunch of batteries so it just makes sense for me in this case. I might also use it for the side of my house and around my A/C unit that I normally weedwack because my cub cadet garden tractor won't fit.
Quick question if you don't mind. At a glance what are your thoughts on the Green Machine GM200102(62-Volt Cordless String Trimmer Carbon Fiber). And do you think that its worth the $180 price tag or if there looks to be something better at that price point? Thanks! Keep up the amazing reviews.
@@Kitearmy Which would be the one to go for at that price point? Its a bit hard to tell which one is the "current" line even when looking at the model numbers. Also thoughts on the STIHL FSA 60 R at $220? Thanks again for the input I appreciate it!
My yard isn’t that big but has a lot of obstacles (gardens, trees, fence, edging) and the ground is quite uneven and has holes due to living at the beach and having chickens. Do you think this would be a good use case for this mower over my current full size gas mower which is currently busted from hitting the ground too much?
The guy that lives behind me bought one of these he’s on a corner lot with over half an acre when I came home and saw him trying to push mow the yard with that thing I thought it was a joke it looked like a toy. I bet in three or 4 weeks he will go buy a riding mower.
1 acre is 43,560 sqft, so 1/4 acre is 10890 sqft (about 10x larger than you mentioned in the video). That means that the 600 sqft that you got is about 1/64 of an acre. Yikes! Overestimate much, Ryobi? Maybe that 1/4 acre estimate was for a lawn that was just mowed by a real mower 😂
I'm not a Ryobi fan, nor am I a Ryobi hater. but Andrew absolutely loves to make Ryobi hate videos for some reason. I have to wonder if Ego is paying him for his reviews. His elitist attitude doesn't serve those who may not be as fortunate to live in a large house and I personally find it denigrating to those people. This mower could never replace my rider but for others it has its place like if you have a small inner-city yard or if you are elderly and lack the strength to handle a gas mower. It seemed to do a good job for the little he used it.

I used this mower to cut 1/4 acre in about 2 hours. I used a 9 ah and half of a 6 ah. It made a nice cut and looked great after!
Good stuff!
Thanks for a useful review showing that it can cut long grass even though it's only an 18v.
You bet

perfect for baby A
I use one of these tiny mowers along with a Ryobi 9.0 amp hour battery and it does great for a good long time!
nice - how much grass are you cutting?

That mower looks like something a boy would get as a birthday present so that he can be "daddy's helper".
He would outgrow it by turning 7

Definitely worth the money to upgrade to the 40V Ryobi mowers over this. So much better value for the money
Unless you have a super small yard
“The cutest bag eva!” 😂😂😂
it's a baby bag
