i got the biggest leaf blower ryobi makes and think I look like an idiot on the driveway, carrying like a boom box - 90s style, when drying the roof. Wife says I look funny doing it but the car turns out great and drying it with towels is such a hassle, especially keeping those towels perfectly clean. a leaf blower is a game changer for those obsessed with their cars.

@@desabat I have the Ryobi 650 CFM I think anything smaller is a waste of time. I’m sure ceramic coatings help with less powerful blowers but still how long do you want to spend blowing. I bought mine for the yard first then used it for cars too

I like that it’s so small as I’ll be able to bring it in the car with me in the wintertime, when I go to the touchless and blow it dry without touching. Granted it doesn’t allow for towel drying to finish drying, but helps when flushing the salt off

    • @buatnobar9725

if you keep in the car during winter does it effect on the battery performance? that's my concern as I know cold is the enemy of the battery.

I’ve had this blower for 6+ months and it is great for getting around mirrors headlights and body gaps. It can do a decent job with good ceramic coated vehicles at drying panels too. I was going to get the 450cfm 18v ryobi blower for $159 but didn’t want a super bulky blower as I have to tote my gear to a self serve wash. For $99 this blower is awesome. It either preforms above its specs or other blowers preform below theirs because it has really good power. I use Milwaukee 18v blowers at work doing landscaping all the time and I don’t feel they have much more power.
With this blowers compact size you can run around the vehicle with a towel in one hand and dry the car very quickly which is important for me at the self serve wash if somebody pulls in behind me. It fits easily in my detailing bag as well. I use it for sweeping my floors in my garage and house too lol.

I own the EGO 650 but man that thing is VERY heavy. This Ryobi seems just right for using on my CX 30.
Also, lower air volume for using on the interior to blow crud off the carpets and mats and the center console with the piano black trim. That is a magnet for every kind of dust and particle there is.

Just tried mine out for the first time today. I found so far I like to use the blower for the hard to reach or areas that have alot of nooks and crannies (wheels, mirrors, door handles, front grill, roof rack rails, emblems) then I still use the drying towel for the flatter areas (doors, hood, roof) etc. Definitely saves time, and I maybe I will try to do the whole car next time. But again really love it for wheels, and front grill, mirrors and door handles, emblems.

Pan, wanted to share this with you. My wife, also my best friend, who goes along with all of my obsessions and sits through hours of videos when I'm researching stuff. This summer it's been car detailing, and I've bought quite a bit of items these past few months. A lot of them after watching your videos. Well yesterday I was asking her if I should get one of these, I was having a hard time justifying it as I have a back pack gas operated leaf blower. NO I don’t use it on my truck or her car, I use towels that you tested and that I bought. When I showed her the Home Depot page with this blower the first thing she said was “ does Pan like it”? Ordered one on sale yeasterday😀

I happened to be watching one of my other favorite channel - Fish n Stuff. He had a segment on adapting a DeWalt battery pack to a Bauer vacuum cleaner using an adapter from Amazon. I checked and Amazon had an adapter to use DeWalt batteries on RYOBI equipment. I’m now the owner of this RYOBI blower using my DeWalt batteries. Amazon had versions for adapting almost all batteries.

Small light duty leaf blowers for $75-150 have been around for a looooooong time but have always been looked down upon by the detailing community due to not putting out at least 500cfm. I struggle to see why this is so revolutionary other than the shape of the handle, the ergos.

@PanTheOrganizer One thing I never see on car detailing channels is cleaning of the vehicles door jams. As a professional detailer myself , I think that this info would be good for those that don't know how . I personally use a clean bucket of car wash , several clean microfiber towels for wiping with the soapy water , detail brushes for hard to get spaces, and finally, a spray bottle of clean water for rinsing . Then dry with clean microfiber towels.

It’s not strong enough to blow off all thr water without burning through batteries. Use with a towel for best results. A good drying towel not a bath towel. 8 amp battery is best. I had the 4 and the 6.

Pan! That little Ryobi blower is great for interiors also, blowing out hairs on carpets with a drill brush & dabree 😮in nooks & cranies. ❤ it ,always goes 2 jobs with plenty of 🔋 batteries. Good review. All the best Mario Garcia

I have been holding out picking one of these up because I could have swore that Metrovac had a cordless in the works mentioned at SEMA. Luckily I haven't had the absolute need for one but eventually I would like a more handheld blower dedicated for wheel and tires, especially during winter. I really wish this had the Flex nameplate because for detailing I plan on grabbing one of their drills for a carpet brush cleaning and keeping it under one battery architecture would be convenient!

I currently have an electric Ridgid shop vac that doubles as a blower. Had it for years now and it's been great. But the cord has finally become frustrating to use and it's only 120 CFM. Technology has advanced quite a bit to where I'm now eyeing a battery blower primarily for detailing my car and this has been the exact unit I've been eyeing. Was hoping to see a good sale this summer but nothing popped up. Hopefully Black Friday brings some great sales. Us Canadians sure don't get the great sales our neighbours do.

I'm glad you found me a portable and powerful enough air blower to dry my car. Just one more thing...what is it like to blow dust away from the dashboard and dirt underneath the seats? Can it work? Thanks Pan.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 місяці тому +1

Yes if you read the comments many use it for interiors. It’s not as strong or as precise as a Tornador air blowout tool though.

I love it; but for me its more of a drying aid, for the wheels, door jams etc.. Its also great as a duster, i use it before i vacuum my car and blow all the dust from the dashboard and clear the aircon vents.

Interesting, If Pan approves it must be good. I had low expectations after using their vacuum with pet attachments. On the other hand I use their leaf blower all the time, even though for the most part I have switched all my battery powered tools to Milwaukee, so I should expect their compact blower to work.

Mine should be delivered on Saturday. At a bare minimum it'll make drying wheels easier. My RS3 is ceramic coated so it should have the run-time to handle the entire car.

I was stoked to see a smaller tool perform well. It’s great for use in the small tight driveways of Tokyo. I then found out that ryobi limited does not produce products for Japan despite the parent company being Japanese!
ryobi only sells old style leaf blowers (the ones which have dozens of copy products on amazon) in the land of the rising sun! So sad!

Bought this a while back for doing my car and bought a 8ah battery to forgo needing to potentially have to use multiple 4ah batteries. The blower does not like the 8ah battery and cuts off after about 5 secs. Don't know if this is an issue with just mine or some kind of safety built in to the model. It works flawlessly with the 4ah batteries.

I’ve been using the ryobi for a few months now. It’s good……but it’s not the greatest as getting in the tight spots, like behind trim, or small crevices such as between headlight assembly and body panels. In those cases i still prefer the smaller air guns or compressed air.

I am looking forward to getting one of these when the price drops. I currently use the same EGO blower Pan has so dropping $100 on an easier-to-use but less effective tool just does not make sense. I would buy one in a second at $50 without a battery.
