Thank you so much Vishal! I hope you enjoy my channel! 😊
I just recently purchased a canon m50. Started taking some pictures. None as creative as yours. So much to learn.
Hi Bruce! The Canon M50 is such a great camera! I use it to record my UA-cam videos and it also gives an amazing photography quality, I'm super happy with it! Now it's a learning process but little by little I'm sure you will take pictures as creative as these ones or even more! 😍Let me know how it goes and thanks for watching! :-)
Great tutorial on bts!!! I like to do self portrait and what you showed me gave me some great tips on the lighting positioning and being more creative. Thanks you are great!
Awww amazing Fred! It makes me very happy to hear this. So glad you found the video useful and you can apply the tips I used here! 😍 Big love!❤️
Awesome.. I really got inspired after the simple way of explanations. Im still hunting for people to pose for my portfolio. But now I will start trying to take my own pictures instead of waiting. Thanks a ton. Loved the way you made it clear. By the way I'm a beginner. Started to do street photography and I'm getting into potrait photography. My aim and gaol is to shoot wedding and anything which is cool.😀
Hi Vinod! How are you? Such a meaningful comment! Thank you so much! ♥️ I'm so happy to hear that you're going to start taking self-portraits. This is the way I learned portrait photography. Once you get better and practise, you will become more and more experienced to shoot with models and other people!
Experimenting is the best way to learn! Keep it up! I hope you enjoy my channel! :) Hugs from London!

Muy interesante vídeo. La luz es una de las partes más importantes de la fotografía. Gracias 😉
Muchas gracias! Me alegro de que te haya gustado y parecido interesante! :-)
me encanto como dices al final que debes improvisar y ser creativo
Self portraits are hard for sure, great vid! :)
Jason Lorette They are! I can take sooo many pictures to be able to get the right one! 😄 Thank u! So glad to read that u enjoyed this bts. :)
Well done! Love the video :) Would be also interesting about the light and camera settings, it might be not such entertaining video and more technical, but it is something that I would love to learn more about!
Thank you so much Ieva! I’m super happy you enjoyed it! And definitely, I’m preparing a lot of videos and some of them will cover settings, lighting set up etc. Thanks for your request, it’s great to hear what people are interested about! 🙏🏼❤️
💛🙌
Yeah! This was helpful...very!
Great! 😍🙏🏼
Really enjoy (and learn from) your vids. Venturing into portrait a bit more now and lots of selfies to gain experience with lighting etc.. Have you any advice on focus issues? Most remote releases won't allow cam/lens to autofocus.. Is it a case of tether to a monitor and watch until in focus? Anyway, love your enthusiasm and keep inspiring people.. : )
Hi Laura! I have been binge watching pretty well all of your videos 😅 Some stuff I know already, but there’s always room to learn to I do it anyway, your videos are interesting no matter the topic!
I am just curious about the banding in the photos. Is there a way to somewhat eliminate the amount of banding? I haven’t done much studio work at this time, but I did do a brand shoot for an office space with black walls and felt I really had to darken the blacks to an unrealistic amount to offset the amount of banding!
Thank you so much!!
Hi Laura, love to know what camera you used to film this video! Thanks!
Great 👍
Thanks a lot! :))
Nice Laura
You should have 100k subs
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼 I wish! 😅
Thank you also for the list of gear you listed in your comments! I'm also a canon person. I have the Canon EOS R and the 24-105mm, but I'm kind of looking for an affordable light and saw the one your using and it looks pretty cool, so thank you again
You are very welcome! Yes, the light is very affordable and it’s definitely quite good. It’s the one I use also for the UA-cam videos. Awwww I’m very curious about the Canon EOS R! I record just with a Canon M50 as after spending the money in a Canon 5D MKIV for my photography, I couldn’t afford that one! Super good camera! 😍 P.S. So nice that you are a Canon person too 😄
Laura BC 😆 yes! I’m a Canon person! However I believe that maybe I should’ve bought a cheaper camera to invest money in other lenses. I have a nifty fifty and the other kit lens, but I would like to get the 15-35mm cause it opens at 2.8, the one I have opens at 4!
TopicRuben Definitely! Recording video I feel I need less than 4 too. Sigma lenses are amazing! I have a 35mm f1.4 and the quality is incredible! I think they may have that range with such a f stop as well. Take a look. I’m very glad I own 2 sigma lenses with that shallow depth of field. They are so sharp too! 😍
Laura BC awesome! I’ve never owned a sigma lens, but yes I heard they’re super, maybe I should start looking into it instead of keep saving and saving.... ohhhh gear is SO expensive 😂
Que pasada
Iker Perez Gracias! 😊 En un rato subo otro video! 🙏🏼
Hi Laura nice video , does it have to be a continuous light or you can use a flashlight as well to achieve the moodiness you want? 🥴
Hi Ivana! How are you? 🥰 It doesn’t have to be continuous light. It can be any source of light as long as you locate the model or yourself close to it and keep the environment dark. :) This way you can keep the moodiness you like. ❤️📸
Hi Laura,
Is the black seamless paper backdrop hanging on the curtain rod 7 feet wide?
Your videos are helpful and entertaining; I can’t stop watching them. I am learning a lot from them. Thank you.
Hi Peter! So sorry the late reply. My paper backdrop is 2.08cm which translated to feet is 6.82 I believe.
I hope I answered on time to help you! 🙏🏼 And thank you so much! I'm so happy to know that you like my videos and find them useful! 😍❤️
@@LauraBC Yes, this is very helpful; I was wondering whether I needed the 9ft paper or if the next size down is enough. You are the one that deserves all the thanks. I'm only a student. Thank you for all your advice.
HI,I'm Japanese women learning photography.
Your video is really useful and cool:) Let me ask you a question, how is the setting about focusing? manual or auto?
Hi Aiko! Thank you so much, I'm very glad you like my videos! :) The focus in this occasion is set to auto. The remote control allows me to press the button half way through to focus and then shoot pressing deeper. In more complex situations, I would put an object, focus on it, and change the focus to manual so it doesn't move. I hope that helps! Any question just let me know :)
Hola Laura
Se podría usar flash con softbox?
Hola Isabel! Do you mean a normal flash (speed light)? Yes, you have to get a speed light softbox adapter. I used to shoot with a beauty dish and a speed light before using an adapter like that. 😊
Hey Laura. Great video and super great tips! love those photos!!! mostly the one with 400 ISO. Happy to be here. Thanks @andrewwarner to the twit. Looking forward watching more videos! Cheers from Italy!
Thank you so much Ruben! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 Your feedback means a lot and motivates me even more to creating more videos! 🙏🏼❤️
Laura BC absolutely!, keep creating! You’re an amazing photographer and now you’re rocking with your channel as well 🙏❤️🙏
TopicRuben Thank you so much! I’m very happy that you like my work and you like my channel. You are a most experienced youtuber so it does mean a lot! 🥰🙏🏼
Laura BC hey, I’m older, that doesn’t mean though more experienced 😂, maybe in life but not necessarily as a youtuber. It’s a pleasure Laura. You have a very good content and your videos are very clean and very well edited so I like them and you got my full support. Peace and love 🙏❤️🙏
TopicRuben hahah As a youtuber for sure! 😄 you are closer to reach a 1,000 and your videos are so so good! A lot of meaning in them which I love! There is a purpose in every speech and that’s beautiful! Thanks again and full support in your channel too! ❤️
Very interesting but one question I struggle a lot with: how to focus correctly when you are not behind the camera?
Thank you Marc! :) I focus myself with the remote shutter I have.
I press the button halfway to focus and I completely press to take the picture. I make sure I'm in the middle of the frame while focusing and then I move slightly if I need to reframe before shooting.
@@LauraBC thanks a lot. I will try it.
Hi Laura, I see you take a lot of photos of yourself when travelling but I'm afraid my camera will blow over or someone will run past and steal it. any tips?
What laser light do you use that's safe?
Hi Peter, it’s linked in the description of the video. Unfortunately no lasers are safe, you just have to be careful with the eyes. 🙏🏼❤️
@@LauraBC Thanks!
Que video fantástico, mas mio inglés……..
