I, too, am so grateful for your videos. I had a really bad week or so. Late yesterday afternoon I started to feel better - after seeing my therapist on Friday and watching a few videos on narcissistic parents (my dad was one, and I had been re-traumatized by my sister). I woke up early this morning and instead of getting up, I knew I needed a few more hours of restorative sleep. I think that’s when staying in bed can be one of those first steps. Sleep can be healing. The thing that gets me out of bed when I’m past that healing time is knowing I’m going to have some tangerines. So delicious. I think a sensory experience can be that first thing. Like Proust’s madeleines.
Thanks a million Esther, My mum is bipolar and I wish she could meet someone whom connected with her the way I know you do, your videos are so full of wisdom and love. Cannot thank you enough for making them. She cant speak English but if she did, I know she would love your channel as much as I do :)❤
Wow - what a wonderfully kind note to receive. Thank you so much. I wish your Mom could hear these videos - I will see if I can get Spanish as a translation option. I appreciate you and believe the care that you give your Mom is everlasting.
dear azeria, please listen to me. i have bipolar 1 and was born this way. my mom had it, my oldest sister has is, and my son has it as well. it has made life very miserable for me, but i have survived so far. even though during depressive episodes i have tried to kill myself. life is not all lost! wehave to stick together be strong, try hard to find good things to hang on to. i live a very lonely existence, but i talk to God all the time. he’s all i have. please know: you are not alone. life is hard for everyone. there are some that have much worse lives than we do. let your mom know how much you love and care about her. by words, actions, any way you can. realize, when she is manic or depressive you may feel helpless, but that’s just the way things are, and you just have to basicly ride along with it with the knowledge that it will pass. make sure she is taking the right meds, this is very important! be there for her is all you can do.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to let me know! Is really kind of you. I will keep everything in mind :) I have always wanted to understand this part that made her more special and reading about the disorder, there's all kinds of books, it helped me a lot. Also lovely people like you or Esther, really helps a lot I'll try my best to be present Thanks a million Godspeed!
