Canonically speaking, the Mercenary from Open Fortress became a Mercenary in the 70’s because he saw footage of the Red/Blu teams during the Gravel Wars in the 60’s, after the wars ended. It’s plausible that this is part of the footage he viewed

As a Fallout head and TF2 enjoyer I say: WELL DONE! I am a believer in the good ending still!
0:41 After the war ended for Pyro, he wandered for a good long while on his own.
He would eventually settle in a small little village in a region called "South Belka" and would meet the love of his life there, some half-japanese, half-cantonese girl, rather than fire, funnily enough.
After that, Pyro would rise to power and... Well, Somehow reunite South Belka with it's Northern Half, rebuilding the once crippled nation into a more peaceful, albiet, reactionary national superpower.
...What.
Belka? Why is there ace combat getting involved?
Pyro's ending made me tear up. Such an inspirational conclusion.

Unfortunate that Sniper's parents canonically died during the comics.
Maybe if the player beats the game before a set time, sniper parents are still alive and get the ending seen on the video
Never read the comics and the people in my original comment don't seem to care much for it either. They also said Sniper's parents hated him? Again, I made this comment in one hour and on top of the pressure of having to go to work lololol

We went through all the phases of loss.
What is next for the TF2 community is acceptance that the days where tf2 was a playable game are long gone. Even if it was in the worst way possible , we made ourselves hear, we did it loudly and probably valve will always hate us for that, I hope they do, the feeling is mutual.
May the memories and friends we made in the badlands remain eternal.
You missed a few characters, like Gray Mann, The Administrator, Bidwell and Miss. Pauling
Be nice to see a follow up with them, maybe even include the TFC mercs even though we all know that they're all *very* dead

New Vegas includes slideshows even for the dead "important" characters, so it would make sense to include the TFC mercs, and Gray Mann, too.

We also get wrap ups for DLC characters, so maybe the Open Fortress mercs, the TF2C civilian, the fate of the ylw and grn team and characters from various well known fan works that've come out over the years

Aight, this is the bad ending time to create the good ending
After a long and drawn fight team fortress 2 prevailed over the bots and the team shooter genre was forever changed
Scout- Despite his near death experience during the war, Jeremy kept running as he had always done, later in life and after Tom Jones sudden death he would on to become a millionaire thanks to all his memoribilia, st the age of 45 Jeremy passed away surrounded by those he regarded as his best freakin' friends
Soldier- Jane Doe stood down shortly after to pursue other goals in life such as taking care of his wife Zhana and his two kids, despite his stupidity he was loved by his friends and family
Pyro- Mphhhh mph mphhh Mphh mph mphhhh mphh mph mmmphhhh mphhhh mphhh. Mphhhh mphh mphh mphh mphhh mphhhh mpphh
(After the war pyro went back to being a successful business owner but his love for fire never stopped as it burned brighter than ever)
Demoman- Tavish Finnegan Degroot took care of his blind mother during her final days, after all the jobs he had done his mother finally told him he was proud of the man that he had become
Heavy- Misha was a little unpleased with Zhana's marriage to Soldier, never the matter he continued supporting his family. As the war had come to an end he decided to write and publish several biographical books that went on to become literature classics
Engineer- Dell Conagher went back to Texas where, along his long lost father, founded Conagher & Conagher™ using his inventions for a greater good and for huge profit
Medic- Mr Ludwig continued with his experiments on humans, implanting Baboon uterus on every patient he could, after a while he managed to form a small army of baboons he used to storm Germany and soon established the 4th Reich
Sniper- Mick Mudy decided to put down his sniper rifle and go back to Australia, there he met his wife and libed with her in the same farm of his late parents taking his new opportunity at life slowly
Spy- It's unknown what happened to the man behind Spy's mask, some say he died, some others swear they saw him with Scout's mom on a date, the only thing known for certain is that he is always right behind you
Miss pauling was saddend by the death of the administrator, she struggled finding a job that required her abilities, in the end she married scout and went on to live hsppily with him
The Administratir had died, blinded by greed and the promise of eternal life she used every last drop of australium Earth had to offer, when there wasn't nothing left she met her untimely dimise at the hands of old age
Saxton Hale recovere MannCo and continued to work as it's CEO for the next 50 years, then he willingly passed it down to his son Rick Hale
And so the Team's journey camd to and end... For now
In the new war after the post MannCo/Robot war, fighting continued, blood was spilled and many lived and respawned as they had before
Because war... War never changes
I have a Team Fortress AU called "Team Fortress: Let's rock!" and a lot of things written in this comment are similar to what is in my story. But seriously, your comment is really cool!

I've heard many impressions of the mercs but these ones are by far one of the best!
They are not perfect and exact, but that's what makes them good. They don't try to be the exact copy of the original, but thanks to the accents it really fits.
Plus the base joke is great in of itself. Gotta love the Fnv ending slides!

Bad endings :
Scout - Jeremy never made peace with his feelings with Ms Pauling and eventually slumped into a chicken and cola filled depression. He would have lived the rest of his life wallowing in what could have been but he suddenly passed on December 4th 1987.
Soldier - Jane Doe never acclimated to the change to civilian life. Months after trying to find stable work, something snapped in him and he went on a rampage across the state shouting about spies and snipers gunning to steal the intel. He was gunned down by the police, weeks later in a 4 hour long shootout.
Pyro : Mmm mphmm mmm mmm mphmmm mmm mm mmphmm.
Demo : Tavis continued drinking like he did during the war and it eventually caught up with him. While working 1 of his 6 jobs at a time to please his mother, Tavis incorrectly rigged an explosive meant to demolish a building. The collapse killed 8 men including Tavis. When asked by the foreman how this could have happened, he replied “Only the shoddy work of a bad demo man could have caused this.”
Heavy : Mikhail returned to his family home, now destroyed by the cyborg bear attack, to bury his mother. Afterwards he spent many cold nights trying to rebuild the family cabin to its familiar state. He eventually succeeded and spent the rest of his life taking care of the cabin, occasionally helping any traveler along the way. When he passed, his sisters buried him next to their mother.
Engineer : Dell Conagher kept on searching for the secrets his grandfather buried with his death. When the trail finally turned cold, he broke his golden rule and dug up Redmann and Bluetar’s life extending machines, intending to use them on his ancestor to get the answers he deserved. The last locals heard from his barn, was the sound of sentry fire and a blood curdling scream. No body was ever found.
Medic : Mister Ludwig went on to join several more mercenary units in his life. Healing and harvesting their souls as he saw fit. News of what he was doing with the mercenaries soon spread and many of them plotted some payback for their now missing souls. Across his many campaigns, he harvested 56 souls so the mercenaries saw that he died 56 increasingly brutal deaths. On his final soul, with bullets still in his legs and tumours growing in his stomach, he calmly said to his captors, “Zis is nothing compared to what comes next”, as the bullet pierced his head.
Sniper : After the death of his parents, Mundy gave them a true Australian burial. He would return to bounty hunting soon after but kidney problems prevented him from performing optimally as the constant pain would hinder his steady hands. He was eventually enrolled in a public hospital where he is still seeking treatment today.
Spy : Not much is known about the dashing, daring killer that is spy. Not even his name. Nor the circumstances surrounding his death, when authorities performed an autopsy on his body, they tracked his fingerprints to a solider who had died 20+ years ago during the Second World War. Spy had died a second death, one as a person, the second as a nameless corpse.
Saxton Hale : After the events of TF2, CEO of Mann Co. Saxton Hale moved on from the gun selling business and sold Man Co. over to Charles Darling. He would then try to rekindle his relationship with his old love interest, Mags. But they were older, wearier and more battle scared now than they were before, and the both of them realised things would never be the same like before. They stayed in touch and occasionally talked over the phone but continued on with their personal lives separately. Saxton made it a tradition to wrestle a panther every night on the day of him and Mag’s honeymoon. He did this till the day he died at age 150.
*Bonus*
Ms Pauling - Ms Pauling tried to find work at other companies similar to Mann co but most of these companies were weary of hiring her due to her relation with her enigmatic boss, the Administrator. She eventually settled for an office job at a business firm, which in her eyes was just as shady as her old job. She carried on working there for many years till the companies shady dealings were out in public and she was used as a scapegoat for the CEOs. She is now serving a jail sentence of 7-12 years.
Everything about this is beautiful, I'm not even jokin' .
So the mercs lost the war after all. D.Gray won and the community has been.......
