- Some NFL teams are really good for a season, but some can continue staying really good for a long time. We look at the ten best three-year stretches for an NFL team during the Super Bowl era.
• The WORST 3-Year Runs ...
Explanation of C-Score:
C-Score is a metric created by this channel to assign an overall value to a football team. It takes a team's:
-Results, including standard and Pythagorean W-L record
-Performance, including game control and play-by-play production
-Quality of opponents, specifically performance level against opponents
and distills all of that into one cumulative and comparative score reflecting the context of the season in question. When applicable, a team's playoff performance is also included.
A C-Score of 0 represents an average football team, whereas anything above 0 represents an above average team and anything below 0 represents a below average team.
A team's record is important, but not always indicative of C-Score. An 11-5 team can rate higher than a 13-3 team or lower than a 9-7 team. Not all records are created equally.

Wow! 96-98 broncos?! Two super bowls and a heartbreak loss in the divisional after destroying most teams in the reg season
Remember that opponent's record and point differential are key. If you play a bunch if weak teams, your score us lower. If you barely beat your opponents, it also hurts you.
I am SHOCKED the Greatest Show on Turf didn't make it.
In 2000 their defense was really bad.
@@FourBudgies87True, but even that Rams’ team was still good enough on the whole to secure a winning record and qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, the ‘99 and ‘01 Rams were both dominating, league-leading juggernauts that reached the Super Bowl. I agree with @edogthebigdog that the 1999-2001 Rams should be on the list.
No shit was up that ...the '99 team??
@@FourBudgies87 Even then, the offense more than helped them out, plus it was good in 99 and 01.
'00 was kinda ass
I'd love to see you use your c score to find the true teams of the decades, just to see if it matches the way we base it off of super bowl wins
i would say 1992-94 cowboys
Great stuff. Enjoyed this.
92-94 DAL/SF.. something in your algorithm should add weight to Lombardi's
Could you do a C score video of every teams all time C score?
On my to-do list. Would have to be an average per season to account for expansion teams.
Surprising none of the 2020s Chiefs combinations didn't make the list.
No super dominant seasons, I think their best shot was 2018-2020 where they went 12-4 AFC Champ, 12-4 won Super bowl, 14-2 lost in Super Bowl
@@allenliang4169 2018 was our most dominant season by far. 2019 was okay, but don’t be fooled by 2020. It was such a lackluster 14-2 season, akin to the 1998 falcons.
@IamSaralinka thank you for saying this! The 2020 Chiefs had so many fluky things go their way, from the reschedulings due to the pandemic, to damn near getting beat by the Falcons (the Chiefs should have lost, they played that badly, to needing a miracle to beat the Browns. I think if the offensive line was fully healthy and the team wasn't distracted by Britt Reid being an idiot, the Buccaneers would have only beat the Chiefs by 10- that's how fluky the 2020 Chiefs were.
What was the c score for the 1999-2001 Rams? They had to have been close to making the list
Just under 80. Really brought down by 2000. If they were in the same ballpark as 99 and 01 they woulda been at or near the very top.
The rams had a second half collapse in 2000, they went 4-6 after starting the season 6-0.
I'm curious what the best 3 year run of the 1973-76 vikings would rank as
Vikings should have been to 5 Superbowls... 737475 and 76 at 75 season was that flukey hail Mary to I forgot the I forgot his name
Drew Parsons push off ...
Vikes would have had a rematch with Steelers in 75...
75 was considered Vikings best team to
@@jasonreimer4742 And if Tarkenton does not break his leg in 77 they could have made 5 Super Bowls in a row.
Pls make a nfl inparisim
Surprised the 65-67 or 60-62 Packers weren't there
He limited his rankings to those completely in the SB era.
cool vid😎
2003-2005 Patriots?
The patriots actually sucked in 2005, they even started the season 4-4.
No Patriots from 2016-18? Made the Super Bowl every year and won two of them.
that’s a great one
Each team's highest C-score in the Superbowl era.
The 76 Steelers had Bradshaw go down with injury on a dirty hit in week 5 and that's when the defense stepped up. Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier both rushed for over 1,000 yards but they both got hurt in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Colts and were not available against Oakland.
That team was also very lucky. Two of their wins came against the Bengals, who finished with the same record as Pittsburgh and missed the playoffs. Just one lose and Cincinatti would've won the AFC Central.
65-67 Packers?
The Raiders from 2000-02 were excellent football teams. It's a shame they never won the Super Bowl during that stretch
A lot of really great 3 year runs based on this video and the comment section. Would've been nice to see how the early 2000s Andy Reid Eagles measured up against the squads mentioned here
If the Chiefs three-peat in 2024 or come close they would have to make an updated list or be just short. If slight liberty was taken to include the 1965 Green Bay Packers along with the first two Super Bowl winners it would make an interesting list. I wonder whether the 2000's or 2010s New England Patriots came closest to the list during their Super Bowl title runs. I could see teams like the Cleveland Browns (Bernie Kosar) and the then Houston Oilers (Earl Campbell or Warren Moon) among the best team stretches never to play in the Super Bowl.
Gotta believe the 95-97 Packers had to be close. Greatest show on turf? Other patriot teams? 2019-22 Packers? consecutive 13 win seasons was pretty impressive, sb or not🤷♂️. Broncos 96-98 as well. Starting to wonder about this "c score" lmao
Why only 3 year runs? The bills had a great 4 year run 1990-1993. 2012-2016 Seattle Seahawks had a great 5 year run. The broncos had a great 4 year run from 2012-2015. The patriots had a great 19 year run from 2001-2019. The 79ers had a great 18 year run from 1981-1998. The dolphins had a great 16 year run from 1970-1985. The cowboys had a great 4 year run from 1992-1995. The Baltimore colts had a great 14 year run from 1958-1971. The Vikings had a great 10 year run from 1968-1977. The raiders had a great 19 year run from 1967-1985. The Steelers had a great 8 year run from 1972-1979. It shouldn't only be 3 year runs, let it be more than that.
It gets a bit ridiculous than. Patriots 20 year run, Packers 30+ year run.
