It's so weird that Zuck announced the Quest 3 before the show. The show itself was so underwhelming, announcing the Quest 3 during it would've made it so much more hype

They should've done what Nintendo does and save the big announcement for the end. Every time a Nintendo Direct had information about Tears of the Kingdom, it was always in the form of a grand finale.

Yeah it's great that they're boosting everything that'll deteriorate the lifespan of the Q2. Nothing sus about the timing, not like the power was always there and they chose not to give us easy access to it :/

@@-AT-WALKER It's partially because of a new upscaling method released in snapdragin ships, which kinda works like DLSS. Its not that they kept it hidden, more like it was recently discovered and implemented.
Its really a useless increase in performance given the developers of only newish games will bother making the game look better. Games already look reasonably crisp on the Quest 2. So increasing res will barely be noticed. What would make the games look better is developers making new textures for everything but of course they wont because its too much work to go back and improve it since they're already working on other projects.

I'm pretty sure they just dont want to "kill" q2 yet announcing games that will be q3 exclusive atm. Q2 will have a price drop at the launch and some people will buy it there, after that they can announce games that you need a q3 to play with.

I was hoping that the Quest 3 would have a higher FOV. I’ve been stuck with this Quest 2’s 90 degree FOV for 3 years now, since I can’t afford any higher FOV headsets like the Valve Index. I hope they can pack some more FOV in but that’s not something Meta has ever really cared about.
as a quest 1 owner who got it near when it came out its really sad to see the only times we see the quest 1 in the news is when something is shutting down or a reminder that its going to be gone soon this thing was massive back then and now its become more irrelevant than gethips hairline

Quest 3 is what the pro should have been besides the controllers and face/eye tracking

More fov means less performance/batt life. its a trade off that needs to me made for now.
@@eyeco2 the chips double the performance anyway, it would be ok to be just a 20-30% increase for some better fov imo, then just add a bobovr-type headstrap

If so, that may be possible, considering the OG Rift CV1 VRcover padding works on mine Quest 2 VRCover interface with a bit of work

time to finally use my quest 2 again after about 5 months of never using it
Or meta was purposely lowering the clock speeds so the headset lasts longer and now that they are upping the power will drain the battery and the hardware much quicker and drive people to get the quest 3.

The quest 2 is supposed to be the budget tier, i i'm guessing it will be like that until near the quest 4's announcement or realese when the quest 3 becomes the budget tier.
That octopus boxing is from Knockout League, a game out right now on the oculus that's pretty fun and it's cool how their integrating that game to the new, ar type of thing
i think any stationary game or small space games should be converted fairly easily. things like population one or half life alex wont because they require movement and that would just be weird lol

quest pro has local dimming, eye and face tracking, and better controllers. so, still kinda relevant i think, but a bit more niche

V54 made bad wifi connection causing quest 2 users to get huge lagg spikes using airlink and vrdesktop. It is very annoying and it is already a problem for more than a week....
I can assure you if Meta did reveal the Quest 3 early to steal some hype from the Apple Vision Pro then OH BOI did it work. Right after I saw the Apple Vision Pro I wanted to get a VR headset but not the Apple thing so I looked around and found the Quest 3

I just got the new update and I don’t know if it my quest or the new update but my play space seems to be drifting away from where I put it. Also in some game it will render me as 7ft or 3ft making most games unplayable for me so do you how to fix it because I have tried restarting it.
Masquerade was such an amazing game. Hope this release does it justice.

Im so excited for this headset as ive had experience with quest 2 but it has lots of flaws such as the awful ipd adjustment which made my expereince constantly a bit blurry giving me migraines after an hour of use . Honestly i wasnt expecting the quest 3 trailer but anyway i absolutely cantwait to buy it allthough £500 is a lot but im sure its going to be worth it.
First headset gave headaches from the strap, second from the strap and lack of IPD settings... add another headache source to the previous 2 and that's my prediction for the Q3

hey GetHip I was wondering if you knew how to remove an account from a headset? I factory reset the headset but my account is still connected to it and now I can't pair my headset to my phone. :/
also, its probably nothing, but the charger port in the quest 3, paired with the hole in the strap, looks nearly identical to the old oculus logo...maybe a reference?

So I've got a weird malfunction
Whenever I'm trying to play pcvr on quest 2 everything is lagging and I can see black borders when I turn my head
It started yesterday at first it was only steamvr issue but now it's also on oculus app

I doubt you will ever see this but my headset doesn’t die, like it goes on 0% but it doesn’t shut off. I don’t play while it’s on 0% because I don’t want to ruin the battery. Just want to see if you know how to fix this
