Here are today’s illegal actions: 27:58 Two LIGHTS were banished for the summon of Chaos Sorcerer as opposed to 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK 37:33 Time for one of Yugioh’s most awkward and dumb rulings ever. Cimo did not declare to attempt to enter Battle Phase, and so the game state was not able to “skip” his next battle phase due to Moulinglacia. This means that when he attempted to enter the battle phase on the turn he won, in actuality that battle phase was supposed to be skipped. This is because cards that “skip the next battle phase” such as the Elemental Lords, Frozen Soul, etc. are different than cards that that say “you cannot conduct your battle phase…”. If you are in a “skip your next battle phase” state because of a card effect, then you MUST attempt to enter your battle phase so that the game state can ‘know’ that the skip has been fulfilled. Whereas if you are in a “cannot conduct your battle phase” state such as Soul Charge, then the game state will not let you even attempt to enter battle phase. Don’t we just love Yugioh? Yes, it is these technicalities that piss off Yugioh players because of how hilariously bad they are, but if you are in a tournament and your opponent calls you out on that, they and the judge will be in the right. Just saying
FYI: There is technically one way that this ruling could actually matter, and here’s how: Let’s say your Moulinglacia left the field on your opponent’s turn. You must “skip your next battle phase”. But on your turn in Main Phase 1, you activate Soul Charge. Because you cannot conduct your battle phase this turn, the game cannot fulfill the state of “skip your next battle phase” this turn because you are not allowed to attempt to enter it because of Soul Charge. In this case, you would have to skip the battle phase of your following turn. So you would have to forfeit your battle phase 2 turns in a row. That’s wild
The 2 light banish for Sorc was illegal but if Sangan were banished instead of Veiler it would have been legal and the game would have played out the same way so no biggie
The way MoulinGlacia works, Cimooo had to declare battle phase so it counts as conducted and gets skipped. He shouldn't be allowed to attack in his winning turn

A tip for Joseph, Game 2 switching Lightpulsar to Def was a misplay, keeping it in attack would cause it to get destroyed by a potential Mirror Force allowing it to trigger and bring back the REDMD to keep up offensive and in MP2 bring back the Lightpulsar to keep the loop going.

Another broken deck that you should look up that was a year or two after the Ruler/Spellbook format is called PePe. Probably the most pound-for-pound broken deck of all time.
@@NewtBannner it was a +4 that could also summon a jowgen from your deck to keep your opponent from special summoning, and during the combo you would get a wisdom that could make the jowgen immune to spells and traps, and libraries with counters to make jowgen too big to beat over.

Oh boy, can't believe that I finally catch up with this series after one whole week of watching it from the beginning. We are at the start of Series 8 I think, and the younger me had just started my middle school life in this period of time. The schoolyard was filled with so many different types of decks, from Cyber Dragon, HERO, Lightsworn, Monarch, Six Sam, Chaos Dragon to Gladiator Beast, Dark World, Infernity, and even Final Countdown and some gimmick burn decks. Oh and of course, Mermail. I was normal summoning Deep Sea Diva in the first turn so many times that my friends started calling me "DiVa" for that reason. Ah, good memories. Can't wait for Series 9 and the beginning of Pendulum era, when I was beating everyone's ass up with Qli (until Nekroz came out and the banlist hit)
